Psalm 29
1 Ein Lied, von David. - Ihr Gottessöhne! Bringet für den Herrn herbei, bringt Kostbarkeiten, Schätze für den Herrn!
“A psalm of David.” Ascribe unto the Lord, O ye sons of the mighty, ascribe unto the Lord glory and strength.
2 Bringt für den Herrn die Schätze, seines Namens würdig! Werft vor den Herrn euch hin mit Schmuck fürs Heiligtuni! -
Ascribe unto the Lord the glory of his name; bow down to the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
3 Des Herrn Stimme dröhnet über den Gewässern. Der Gott der Herrlichkeit ließ donnern; der Herr war über mächtigen Gewässern.
The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thundereth, the Lord—upon mighty waters.
4 Des Herrn Stimme schallt in Kraft; des Herrn Stimme schallt mit Majestät.
The voice of the Lord [resoundeth] with power; the voice of the Lord [resoundeth] with majesty.
5 Des Herrn Stimme splittert Zedern. Der Herr zerschmettert Zedern Libanons.
The voice of the Lord breaketh in pieces the cedars; yea, the Lord shivereth the cedars of Lebanon;
6 Er ließ den Libanon gleich einem Kalbe hüpfen, den Sirjon wie ein Büffeljunges.
And he maketh them skip like a calf; Lebanon and Siryon like young reems.
7 Des Herrn Stimme spaltet Feuerflammen.
The voice of the Lord heweth out flames of fire.
8 Des Herrn Stimme macht die Wüste beben. Einst ließ der Herr die Wüste Kades zittern.
The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness; the Lord shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 Des Herrn Stimme macht, daß Rehe werfen, und daß entblößt die Wälder werden. Mit ihrer ganzen Kraft bestellt er Schätze in sein Heiligtum. -
The voice of the Lord causeth the hinds to start, and maketh bare forests: and in his temple every thing speaketh [of his] glory.
10 Und überm Sintflutregen hatte einst der Herr gethront. Der Herr war König schon in alten Zeiten.
The Lord sat [enthroned] at the flood: and the Lord will sit as King for ever.
11 Der Herr verleihe Schätze seinem Volk! Mit Frieden segne doch der Herr sein Volk!
The Lord will give strength unto his people: the Lord will bless his people with peace.
