Psalm 28
1 Von David. - Ich rufe, Herr, zu Dir. Sei doch nicht taub vor mir, mein Hort! Wenn Du vor mir verstummst, dann gleiche ich ins Grab Gesunkenen.
Of David. Unto you, O Lord, do I cry; my rock, be not deaf to me: lest, through holding your peace, I become like those who go down to the pit.
2 Mein lautes Flehen hör, wenn ich, zu Dir um Hilfe rufend, zu Deinem Allerheiligsten die Hände breite!
Hear my loud entreaty, as I cry for help to you, lifting my hands, O Lord, towards your holy chancel.
3 Nicht lange laß mich sein bei Frevlern und nicht bei Übeltätern! Sie reden freundlich mit dem Nächsten; doch sinnen sie im Herzen Böses.
Take me not off with the wicked, nor with the workers of wrong, whose speech to their neighbors is friendly, while evil is in their heart.
4 Vergilt Du ihnen ihrer Tat gemäß, nach ihrer bösen Art! Nach ihrer Hände Werk belohne sie! Behandle sie, wie sie's verdienen!
Give them as they have done, as their wicked deeds deserve. As their hands have wrought, so give to them: requite to them their deserts.
5 Sie achten nimmer auf des Herren Taten und nicht auf seiner Hände Werk; sie reißen sie herab und bauen sie nicht auf, -
They are blind to all that the Lord does, to all that his hands have wrought; and so he will tear them down, to build them up no more.
6 Gepriesen sei der Herr, wenn er mein lautes Flehen hört!
Blest be the Lord, who has heard my voice as I plead for mercy.
7 Der Herr ist mir ein Schutz und Schild; auf ihn vertraut mein Herz. Mir wird geholfen; mein Herz frohlockt. Ich danke ihm mit meinem Liede.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him. I was helped: so my heart is exultant, and in my song I will praise him.
8 Der Herr ist seines Volkes Schutzgott, ein Zufluchtsort, wo sein Gesalbter Hilfe findet.
The Lord is the strength of his people, the fortress who saves his anointed.
9 Zuhilfe Deinem Volk! Den ewig Deinen spende Segen! Und weide sie und sorge ewiglich für sie!
O save your people, and bless your inheritance. Be their shepherd and carry them forever.
