Psalm 24

1 Von David, ein Lied. - Die Erde ist des Herrn und was sie füllt; sein ist die Welt und alles, was da wohnt.

A PSALM OF DAVID. To YHWH [is] the earth and its fullness, The world and the inhabitants in it.

2 Auf Meere hat er sie gegründet, auf Ströme sie gestellt.

For He has founded it on the seas, And He establishes it on the floods.

3 Wer darf den Berg des Herrn besteigen? Wer seinen heiligen Ort betreten?

Who goes up into the hill of YHWH? And who rises up in His holy place?

4 Wer reine Hände hat und lautern Herzens ist, wer nie nach Falschheit giert, dem Wahn nicht huldigt,

The clean of hands, and pure of heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, Nor has sworn to deceit.

5 wer Segen von dem Herrn empfängt und Wohlergehn von seines Heiles Gott.

He carries away a blessing from YHWH, Righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 Also gesinnt ist das Geschlecht, das sein begehrt, und das dein Antlitz, Jakob, sucht. (Sela)

This [is] a generation of those seeking Him. Seeking Your face, O Jacob! (Selah)

7 Hebt eure Häupter hoch, ihr Tore. Ihr alten Pforten recket euch! Einzieht der Völkermenge König.

Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O perpetual doors! And the King of Glory comes in!

8 Wer ist der Völkermenge König? Der Herr ist es, der Starke und Gewaltige, der Herr, der Kriegsheld. -

Who [is] this—“the King of Glory?” YHWH—strong and mighty, YHWH, the mighty in battle.

9 Hebt eure Häupter hoch, ihr Tore. Erhebet sie, ihr alten Pforten! Einzieht der Völkermenge König.

Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O perpetual doors! And the King of Glory comes in!

10 Wer ist der Völkermenge König? Der Herr der Heeresscharen. Er ist der Völkermenge König. (Sela)

Who [is] He—this “King of Glory?” YHWH of hosts—He [is] the King of Glory! (Selah)
