Psalm 148

1 Alleluja! Lobpreist den Herrn im Himmel! Lobpreist ihn in den Höhen!

Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heauen: prayse ye him in the high places.

2 Lobpreist ihn, alle seine Engel! Lobpreist ihn, alle seine Scharen!

Prayse ye him, all ye his Angels: praise him, all his armie.

3 Lobpreiset ihn, du Sonne und du Mond! Lobpreist ihn, all ihr hellen Sterne!

Prayse ye him, sunne and moone: prayse ye him all bright starres.

4 Du höchster Himmel, preise ihn und ihr Gewässer überm Himmel!

Prayse ye him, heauens of heauens, and waters, that be aboue the heauens.

5 Des Herren Namen sollen sie lobpreisen! Denn er gebot; da waren sie geschaffen.

Let them prayse the Name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.

6 Er läßt sie stehn für alle Zeiten und macht es zum Gesetz, das nimmer kraftlos wird.

And he hath established them for euer and euer: he hath made an ordinance, which shall not passe.

7 Lobpreist den Herrn, die ihr auf Erden weilet, ihr Meerestiere, all ihr Meeresfluten!

Prayse ye the Lord from the earth, ye dragons and all depths:

8 Du Feuer, Hagel, Schnee und Sturmgewölk, du Sturmwind, seines Winks gewärtig.

Fire and hayle, snowe and vapours, stormie winde, which execute his worde:

9 Ihr Bergeshöhen, all ihr Hügel, ihr Fruchtbäume, ihr Zedern all!

Mountaines and all hils, fruitfull trees and all ceders:

10 Du Wild und all ihr zahmen Tiere, Gewürm und ihr beschwingten Vögel!

Beasts and all cattell, creeping things and fethered foules:

11 Ihr Erdenkönige, ihr Völker all, ihr Fürsten alle und ihr Erdenrichter!

Kings of the earth and all people, princes and all iudges of the worlde:

12 Ihr Jünglinge, ihr Jungfrauen, ihr Greise und ihr Jungen!

Yong men and maidens, also olde men and children:

13 Lobpreisen sollen sie des Herren Namen! Denn hoch erhaben ist allein sein Name, und seine Herrscherwürde ist erhaben über Erd und Himmel.

Let them prayse the Name of the Lord: for his Name onely is to be exalted, and his prayse aboue the earth and the heauens.

14 Und seinem Volk verleiht er große Macht. Lobpreisen dürfen ihn all seine Frommen, die Kinder Israels, das Volk, das ihm so nahe steht. Alleluja!

For he hath exalted the horne of his people, which is a prayse for all his Saintes, euen for the children of Israel, a people that is neere vnto him. Prayse ye the Lord.
