Psalm 130

1 Ein Stufenlied. - Aus tiefem Grund, Herr, rufe ich zu Dir:

Yahweh, I have a lot of troubles/many difficulties, so I call out to you.

2 Herr, höre meine Stimme! Aufmerken mögen Deine Ohren auf mein lautes Flehen!

Yahweh, hear me, while I call out to you [SYN] to be merciful to me!

3 Wenn Du der Sünden achten wolltest, Ach Herr, wer könnte, Herr, bestehen?

Yahweh, if you kept a record of the sins [that we have committed], not one [of us] [RHQ] would escape from being condemned [and punished]

4 jedoch Vergebung ist bei Dir, daß man Dich fürchte. -

But you forgive us, with the result that we greatly revere you.

5 Des Herren harr ich. Meine Seele harrt; ich hoffe auf sein Wort,

Yahweh has said [that he would help/rescue me]; I trust what he said, and I wait eagerly for him to do that.

6 ja, meine Seele harret auf den Herrn mehr, als den Morgen die Wächter sich ersehnen, die den Tag erwarten.

I wait for Yahweh [to help me] more than watchmen wait for the light to dawn; yes, I wait more eagerly than they do!

7 Israel harre auf den Herrn! Beim Herrn ist Gnade, bei ihm ist der Erlösung Fülle.

You [my fellow] Israelis, confidently expect that Yahweh [will bless us]. [He will bless us] because he faithfully loves [us], and he is very willing to save/rescue [us].

8 Nur er kann Israel erlösen von allen seinen Sündenstrafen.

And he will save us Israeli [people] from [being punished for] all the sins that [we] have committed.
