Psalm 105
1 Dem Herrn sagt Dank! Verherrlicht seinen Namen! Macht seine Taten den Nationen kund!
O give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
2 Lobsingt von ihm! Lobt ihn! Erzählt von seinen Wundern all!
Sing to him, sing psalms to him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
3 In seinem heiligen Namen rühmet euch! Von Herzen freue sich, wer nach dem Herrn sucht!
Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
4 Verlanget nach dem Herrn und seiner Herrlichkeit! Stets sucht sein Angesicht!
Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
5 Gedenkt der Wunder, die er tat, der Zeichen, seiner Richtersprüche!
Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
6 Geschlecht du, seines Knechtes Abraham, ihr Söhne Jakobs, seines Auserwählten! -
O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
7 Der Herr ist unser Gott, und auf der ganzen Erde gelten seine Urteilssprüche.
He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
8 In Ewigkeit gedenkt er seines Bundes und seines Wortes, das er sprach, ins tausendste Geschlecht,
He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
9 des Bunds, den er mit Abraham geschlossen für Israel als einen ewigen Bund,
Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath to Isaac;
10 den er für Jakob als ein Recht bestätigt, und seines Eides, den er Isaak zugeschworen.
And confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
11 "Dir", sprach er, "geb' ich Kanaan, als euer zugemessen Erbe." -
Saying, To thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
12 Noch klein war damals ihre Zahl, noch winzig klein und fremd darin.
When they were a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
13 Sie wanderten von einem Heidenvolk zum andern, von einem Reich zu einer andern Nation.
When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
14 Er gab nicht zu, daß jemand sie bedrückte; er warnte ihretwegen Könige:
He permitted no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
15 "Vergreift euch nicht an den von mir Gesalbten! Fügt keinen Schaden meinen Sehern zu!" -
Saying, Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
16 Er rief alsdann ins Land den Hunger, jedwede Brotesstütze brechend.
Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he broke the whole staff of bread.
17 Er sandte einen Mann vor ihnen her; zum Sklaven ward Joseph verkauft.
He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
18 in Fesseln zwang man seine Füße; in Eisen ward sein Hals gelegt,
Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
19 bis in Erfüllung ging, was er verheißen, und ihn der Spruch des Herrn bewährte.
Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.
20 Da ließ der König ihn entfesseln; der Völkerherrscher ließ ihn frei.
The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
21 Er machte ihn zum Herrn in seinem Hause und zum Verwalter über all sein Gut,
He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
22 daß er nach seinem Sinne seine Fürsten lenkte und seine Ältesten belehrte. -
To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his elders wisdom.
23 Alsdann kam nach Ägypten Israel, und Jakob ward ein Gast im Lande Chams.
Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 Er machte fruchtbar dort sein Volk, für seine Feinde allzu zahlreich.
And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
25 Nun wandte er ihr Herz zum Hasse wider Gottes Volk, zur Arglist gegen seine Diener.
He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
26 Er sandte Moses, seinen Diener, und Aaron, den er sich erkoren.
He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
27 Sie zeigten ihnen seine Wunder und taten Zeichen in dem Lande Chams.
They showed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
28 Er sandte Finsternis, und dunkel ward's; doch achteten sie nicht auf seinen Wink.
He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
29 Er wandelte in Blut ihr Wasser, und ihre Fische ließ er sterben.
He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
30 Er ließ ihr Land von Fröschen wimmeln bis in die Kammern ihrer Könige.
Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
31 Er sprach; da kam ein Fliegenschwarm und Mücken in ihr ganz Gebiet.
He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and lice in all their land.
32 Für Regen gab er ihnen Hagel und Feuerflammen auf ihr Land,
He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
33 schlug ihren Weinstock, ihren Feigenbaum darnieder. zersplitterte die Bäume all in ihren Grenzen.
He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and broke the trees of their land.
34 Er sprach; da kamen Heuschrecken und Ungeziefer ohne Zahl.
He spoke, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,
35 Sie fraßen alles Gras in ihrem Land und fraßen ihre Feldfrucht ab.
And ate up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
36 In ihrem Lande schlug er alle Erstgeburt, die Erstlinge all ihrer Kraft. -
He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
37 Er führte sie mit Gold und Silber aus dem Lande, und unter seinen Stämmen war kein Müder.
He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
38 Ägypten ward ob ihres Wegzugs froh; denn Angst vor ihnen hatte sie befallen.
Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
39 Er breitete zum Schirme eine Wolke aus und Feuer, um bei Nacht zu leuchten.
He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
40 Auf ihre Bitte ließ er Wachteln kommen und schenkte ihnen Himmelsspeise zur Genüge.
The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
41 Er öffnete den Fels, daß Wasser flossen, in dürrem Lande Ströme rieselten.
He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
42 Denn er gedachte seines heiligen Wortes und seines Dieners Abraham.
For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
43 So führte er sein Volk mit Jubel fort, mit Jauchzen seine Auserwählten.
And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
44 Der Heiden Länder gab er ihnen, ließ sie die Frucht des Völkerfleißes erben,
And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
45 auf daß sie seine Rechte hielten, und seine Lehren treu bewahrten. Alleluja!
That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.
