Sprueche 15
1 Gelinde Rede stillt den Grimm; verletzend Wort erregt den Zorn.
A soft answer turneth back fury, And a grievous word raiseth up anger.
2 Des Weisen Zunge kleidet guten Sinn in schöne Form; der Mund des Toren spricht die nackte Torheit.
The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge good, And the mouth of fools uttereth folly.
3 An jedem Orte sieht des Herren Aug die Bösen und die Guten.
In every place are the eyes of Jehovah, Watching the evil and the good.
4 Der Zunge Milde ist ein Lebensbaum; doch wenn darauf Verkehrtheit liegt, wirkt sie verstörend auf den Geist.
A healed tongue [is] a tree of life, And perverseness in it — a breach in the spirit.
5 Der Tor verschmäht die väterliche Zucht; wer auf die Rüge achtet, handelt klug.
A fool despiseth the instruction of his father, And whoso is regarding reproof is prudent.
6 Im Haus des Frommen findet Vorrat sich in Fülle; doch in des Frevlers Ernte liegt Zerrüttung.
[In] the house of the righteous [is] abundant strength, And in the increase of the wicked — trouble.
7 Der Weisen Lippen zeugen Wissen, doch nicht das Herz der Toren.
The lips of the wise scatter knowledge, And the heart of fools [is] not right.
8 Der Frevler Opfer ist ein Greuel für den Herrn; doch das Gebet der Redlichen gefällt ihm wohl.
The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to Jehovah, And the prayer of the upright [is] His delight.
9 Der Weg der Frevler ist ein Greuel für den Herrn; das Streben nach der Tugend hat er gern.
An abomination to Jehovah [is] the way of the wicked, And whoso is pursuing righteousness He loveth.
10 Dem, der vom Pfade weicht, ist Rüge nicht willkommen; wer aber Mahnung haßt, muß sterben.
Chastisement [is] grievous to him who is forsaking the path, Whoso is hating reproof dieth.
11 Ganz offen liegen Unterwelt und Abgrund vor dem Herrn; um wieviel mehr der Menschen Herzen! (Sheol h7585)
Sheol and destruction [are] before Jehovah, Surely also the hearts of the sons of men. (Sheol h7585)
12 Der Spötter liebt nicht, daß man ihn vermahne; er geht nicht zu den Weisen.
A scorner loveth not his reprover, Unto the wise he goeth not.
13 Ein fröhlich Herz macht auch das Antlitz freundlich; bedrückt ist das Gemüt bei Herzenskummer.
A joyful heart maketh glad the face, And by grief of heart is the spirit smitten.
14 Erkenntnis sucht des Klugen Herz; auf Torheit geht der Toren Miene aus.
The heart of the intelligent seeketh knowledge, And the mouth of fools enjoyeth folly.
15 Wohl sind des Armen Tage alle böse; doch ist er heiteren Gemüts, hat er beständig Festgelage.
All the days of the afflicted [are] evil, And gladness of heart [is] a perpetual banquet.
16 Viel besser, wenig zu besitzen in der Furcht des Herrn, als reiche Schätze und dabei ein bös Gewissen.
Better [is] a little with the fear of Jehovah, Than much treasure, and tumult with it.
17 Viel besser ein Gericht Gemüse und dabei auch Liebe, als ein fettes Rind und Haß dabei.
Better [is] an allowance of green herbs and love there, Than a fatted ox, and hatred with it.
18 Ein hitziger Mann erregt den Zank; wer aber sanft ist, stillt den Hader.
A man of fury stirreth up contention, And the slow to anger appeaseth strife.
19 Der Weg des Furchtsamen gleicht einer Dornenhecke; der Pfad des Aufrechten ist wohl gebahnt.
The way of the slothful [is] as a hedge of briers, And the path of the upright is raised up.
20 Ein weiser Sohn versorgt den Vater reichlich; ein dummer Mensch vernachlässigt die Mutter.
A wise son rejoiceth a father. And a foolish man is despising his mother.
21 Die Torheit bringt dem Unverständigen Gefahr; doch ebenen Weg geht der Vernünftige.
Folly is joy to one lacking heart, And a man of intelligence directeth [his] going.
22 Die Pläne schlagen fehl, wo die Beratung fehlt; sind aber der Berater viel, so kommen sie zustande.
Without counsel [is] the making void of purposes, And in a multitude of counsellors it is established.
23 Ein jeder hört sich selber gern. Ein Wort zur rechten Zeit, wie selten!
Joy [is] to a man in the answer of his mouth, And a word in its season — how good!
24 Hier oben gibt es für den Klugen einen Lebensweg, damit er fern sich hält dem Abgrund drunten. (Sheol h7585)
A path of life [is] on high for the wise, To turn aside from Sheol beneath. (Sheol h7585)
25 Wegreißt der Herr der Stolzen Haus; der Witwe Eigentum läßt er bestehen.
The house of the proud Jehovah pulleth down, And He setteth up the border of the widow.
26 Ein Greuel für den Herrn sind boshafte Gedanken; doch rein sind Worte, freundlich ausgesprochen.
An abomination to Jehovah [are] thoughts of wickedness, And pure [are] sayings of pleasantness.
27 Es läßt der Geizhals die Familien darben; wer auf Vermögen nicht versessen ist, ernährt sie wohl.
A dishonest gainer is troubling his house, And whoso is hating gifts liveth.
28 Die Antwort überlegt des Frommen Herz; des Frevler Mund spricht unumwunden Bosheit.
The heart of the righteous meditateth to answer, And the mouth of the wicked uttereth evil things.
29 Den Gottlosen ist fern der Herr; doch das Gebet der Frommen achtet er.
Far [is] Jehovah from the wicked, And the prayer of the righteous He heareth.
30 Ein freundlich Anblicken erfreut das Herz, und frohe Kunde labt den Leib.
The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart, A good report maketh fat the bone.
31 Ein Ohr, das auf die Mahnung hört, die Leben spendet, weilt gerne mitten unter Weisen.
An ear that is hearing the reproof of life Doth lodge among the wise.
32 Wer Zucht verachtet, wirft sein Leben weg; doch wer auf Rüge hört, erkauft sich Leben.
Whoso is refusing instruction is despising his soul, And whoso is hearing reproof Is getting understanding.
33 Die Furcht des Herrn ist Grundlage der Weisheit, der Ehre geht voran die Demut.
The fear of Jehovah [is] the instruction of wisdom, And before honour [is] humility!
