4 Mose 32
1 Rubens und Gads Söhne aber hatten einen großen, überreichen Herdenstand. Sie sahen nun das Land Jazer und das Land Gilead. Die Gegend aber war eine Herdengegend.
Nowe the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad had an exceeding great multitude of cattell: and they sawe the lande of Iazer, and the lande of Gilead, that it was an apt place for cattel.
2 So kamen Gads und Rubens Söhne und sprachen zu Moses und dem Priester Eleazar, sowie zu den Edlen der Gemeinde:
Then the children of Gad, and the childre of Reuben came, and spake vnto Moses and to Eleazar the Priest, and vnto the princes of the Congregation, saying,
3 "Atarot, Dibon, Jazer, Nimra, Chesbon, Elale, Sebam, Nebo, Beon,
The land of Ataroth, and Dibon, and Iazer, and Nimrah, and Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Shebam, and Nebo, and Beon,
4 das Land, das der Herr vor der israelitischen Gemeinde niedergeworfen, ist ein Herdenland, und deine Knechte haben Herden."
Which countrey the Lord smote before the Congregation of Israel, is a lande meete for cattell, and thy seruants haue cattell:
5 Und sie sprachen: "Finden wir in deinen Augen Gnade, so werde dieses Land zum Besitz deinen Knechten verliehen! Siedle uns nicht über dem Jordan an!"
Wherefore, said they, if we haue foud grace in thy sight, let this lande be giuen vnto thy seruants for a possession, and bring vs not ouer Iorde.
6 Da sprach Moses zu Gads und Rubens Söhnen: "Sollen eure Brüder in die Schlacht ziehen, und ihr wollt hier bleiben?
And Moses said vnto the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren goe to warre, and ye tary heere?
7 Warum hindert ihr das Herz der Söhne Israels, hinüberzuziehen in das Land, das ihnen der Herr gegeben?
Wherefore now discourage ye the heart of the children of Israel, to goe ouer into the lande, which the Lord hath giuen them?
8 So haben eure Väter getan, als ich sie von Kades Barnea zur Besichtigung des Landes gesandt.
Thus did your fathers when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see the lande.
9 Sie kamen bis zum Traubental hinauf und besahen das Land. Dann hinderten sie das Herz der Söhne Israels, ins Land zu kommen, das ihnen der Herr gegeben.
For when they went vp euen vnto the riuer of Eshcol, and sawe the land: they discouraged the heart of the childre of Israel, that they woulde not goe into the lande, which the Lord had giuen them.
10 Da geriet der Herr an jenem Tage in Zorn und tat den Schwur:
And the Lordes wrath was kindled the same day, and he did sweare, saying,
11 'Die Männer, die aus Ägypten gezogen, von zwanzig Jahren aufwärts, sollen nie die Gegend sehen, die ich dem Abraham, Isaak und Jakob zugeschworen habe! Denn sie sind mir nicht voll ergeben gewesen.
None of the men that came out of Egypt from twentie yeere olde and aboue, shall see the land for the which I sware vnto Abraham, to Izhak, and to Iaakob, because they haue not wholly followed me:
12 Nur der Keniziter Kaleb, Jephunnes Sohn, und Josue, der Sohn des Nun, sind mir voll ergeben gewesen.'
Except Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh the Kenesite, and Ioshua the sonne of Nun: for they haue constantly followed the Lord.
13 Da ward der Herr zornig über Israel und ließ sie in der Wüste vierzig Jahre umherirren, bis daß ausgestorben war dies Geschlecht, das Böses in des Herrn Augen getan.
And the Lord was very angry with Israel, and made them wander in the wildernesse fourty yeeres, vntill all the generation that had done euill in the sight of the Lord were consumed.
14 Ihr steht nun an eurer Väter Stelle, eine Brut sündiger Menschen, nur um des Herrn Zornesglut über Israel noch zu steigern.
And behold, ye are risen vp in your fathers steade as an encrease of sinfull men, still to augment the fierce wrath of the Lord, toward Israel.
15 Und wendet ihr euch von ihm ab, so beläßt er es noch länger in der Wüste. So stürzt ihr dies ganze Volk ins Verderben."
For if ye turne away from following him, he will yet againe leaue the people in the wildernesse, and ye shall destroy all this folke.
16 Da drangen sie auf ihn ein und sprachen: "Hier wollen wir für unseren Herdenstand Schafhürden bauen und für unsere kleinen Kinder Städte.
And they went neere to him, and said, We will builde sheepe foldes here for our sheepe, and for our cattell, and cities for our children.
17 Wir selbst aber wollen als Vortrupp den Israeliten voranziehen, bis daß wir sie an ihren Ort gebracht. Doch unsere kleinen Kinder sollen vor des Landes Insassen in festen Städten sitzen.
But we our selues will be readie armed to go before the children of Israel, vntill we haue brought them vnto their place: but our childre shall dwell in the defenced cities, because of the inhabitants of the lande.
18 In unsere Häuser kehren wir nicht zurück, bis von den Israeliten jeder zu seinem Besitz gelangt ist.
We will not returne vnto our houses, vntil the children of Israel haue inherited, euery man his inheritance.
19 Denn wir wollen nicht mit ihnen zusammen über dem Jordan und weiterhin Besitz bekommen, wenn uns unser Besitz östlich über dem Jordan zufällt."
Neither wil we inherite with them beyond Iorden and on that side, because our inheritance is fallen to vs on this side Iorden Eastwarde.
20 Da sprach Moses zu ihnen: "Wollt ihr das tun, wollt ihr vor dem Herrn sturmbereit zum Kampf voranschreiten
And Moses saide vnto them, If ye will doe this thing, and goe armed before the Lord to warre:
21 und überschreitet ihr vor dem Herrn, jeder von euch sturmbereit, den Jordan, bis daß er seine Feinde vor sich vertilgt hat,
And will goe euery one of you in harnesse ouer Iorden before the Lord, vntill he hath cast out his enemies from his sight:
22 und wird dieses Land vor dem Herrn niedergeworfen, und kehrt ihr danach heim, dann seid ihr dem Herrn und Israel gegenüber unsträflich, und dieses Land falle euch vom Herrn aus als Besitztum zu!
And vntill the land be subdued before the Lord, then ye shall returne and be innocent toward the Lord, and toward Israel: and this land shalbe your possession before the Lord.
23 Doch tut ihr nicht so, dann sündigt ihr an dem Herrn. Wisset dann, daß eure Sünden euch finden werden.
But if ye will not doe so, beholde, ye haue sinned against the Lord, and be sure, that your sinne will finde you out.
24 Baut euch also Städte für eure kleinen Kinder und Hürden für eure Schafe! Doch tut, was ihr ausgesprochen habt!"
Builde you then cities for your children and folds for your sheepe, and do that ye haue spoke.
25 Da sprachen Gads und Rubens Söhne zu Moses: "Deine Knechte werden so tun, wie unser Herr befiehlt.
Then the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spake vnto Moses, saying, Thy seruats will doe as my lorde commandeth:
26 Unsere kleinen Kinder, unsere Weiber, unser Herdenstand und all unser Vieh bleibe hier in Gileads Städten!
Our childre, our wiues, our sheepe, and al our cattell shall remaine there in the cities of Gilead,
27 Doch deine Knechte ziehen hinüber, jeder sturmbereit, vor dem Herrn in den Krieg, wie es der Herr gesagt."
But thy seruants will goe euery one armed to warre before the Lord for to fight, as my lorde saith.
28 Da gab Moses dem Priester Eleazar und Nuns Sohn, Josue, sowie den väterlichen Stammhäuptern der Israeliten ihretwegen Anweisung.
So concerning them, Moses commanded Eleazar the Priest, and Ioshua the sonne of Nun, and the chiefe fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:
29 Und Moses sprach zu ihnen: "Überschreiten mit euch vor dem Herrn die Söhne Gads und Rubens den Jordan, jeder sturmbereit, und wird das Land erobert und es stellt euch frei, dann gebt ihnen zu eigen das Land Gilead!
And Moses said vnto them, If the children of Gad, and the children of Reuben, will go with you ouer Iorden, all armed to fight before the Lord, then when the land is subdued before you, ye shall giue the the lad of Gilead for a possessio:
30 Ziehen sie aber nicht mit euch sturmbereit hinüber, so müssen sie bei euch im Lande Kanaan siedeln."
But if they will not goe ouer with you armed, then they shall haue their possessions amog you in the land of Canaan.
31 Da antworteten Gads und Rubens Söhne: "Wir tun so, wie der Herr von deinen Knechten verlangt.
And the children of Gad, and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the Lord hath said vnto thy seruants, so will we doe.
32 Wir ziehen vor dem Herrn sturmbereit ins Land Kanaan hinüber und so kommen wir in unseren Besitz jenseits des Jordans."
We will goe armed before the Lord into the lande of Canaan: that the possession of our inheritance may be to vs on this side Iorden.
33 So gab Moses ihnen, den Söhnen Gads und Rubens, und dem halben Stamme Manasses, des Josephsohnes, das Reich des Amoriterkönigs Sichon und das des Basankönigs Og, das Land mit seinen Städten nach Gemarkungen, die Städte des Landes ringsum.
So Moses gaue vnto them, euen to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and to halfe the tribe of Manasseh the sonne of Ioseph, the kingdome of Sihon King of the Amorites, and the kingdome of Og King of Bashan, the lande with the cities thereof and coastes, euen the cities of the countrey round about.
34 So bauten Gads Söhne Dibon, Atarot und Aroer wieder auf,
Then the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,
35 ebenso Aterot Sophan, Jazer, Jogbeha,
And Atroth, Shophan, and Iazer, and Iogbehah,
36 Bet Nimra und Bet Haran, feste Städte und Schafhürden.
And Beth-nimrah, and Beth-haran, defenced cities: also sheepe foldes.
37 Rubens Söhne aber bauten Chesbon, Elale, Kirjataim,
And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kiriathaim,
38 Nebo und Baal Meon mit verändertem Namen wieder auf und Sibma, und sie gaben ihren Namen den Städten, die sie aufbauten.
And Nebo, and Baal-meon, and turned their names, and Shibmah: and gaue other names vnto the cities which they built.
39 Die Söhne Makirs, des Manassesohnes, zogen nach Gilead, eroberten es und vertrieben den Amoriter, der darin war.
And the children of Machir the sonne of Manasseh went to Gilead, and tooke it, and put out the Amorites that dwelt therein.
40 Und Moses verlieh Gilead dem Makir, Manasses Sohn, und er wohnte darin.
Then Moses gaue Gilead vnto Machir the sonne of Manasseh, and he dwelt therein.
41 Manasses Sohn Jair zog aus, eroberte ihre Zeltdörfer und nannte sie Zeltdörfer Jairs.
And Iair the sonne of Manasseh went and tooke the small townes thereof, and called them Hauoth Iair.
42 Nobach zog aus, eroberte Kenat mit seinen Tochterorten und benannte es nach seinem Namen Nobach.
Also Nobah went and tooke Kenath, with the villages thereof and called it Nobah, after his owne name.
