Matthaeus 8
1 Jesus stieg vom Berge herab, und große Scharen folgten ihm.
And when he came down from the mountain, large crowds followed him.
2 Und siehe, ein Aussätziger kam heran und warf sich vor ihm nieder mit den Worten: "Herr! Wenn du willst, kannst du mich rein machen."
And look, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean."
3 Da streckte er die Hand aus, berührte ihn und sprach: "Ich will, sei rein!" Sofort war er von seinem Aussatze rein.
And he stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4 Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Sag es ja niemand! Geh vielmehr hin, zeig dich dem Priester und opfere die Gabe, die Moses vorgeschrieben hat; sie mögen dies zum Zeugnis nehmen."
And Yeshua said to him, "See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the cohen, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
5 Dann ging er nach Kapharnaum hinein. Da trat ein Hauptmann zu ihm
And when he came into Kfar-Nahum, a centurion came to him, asking him,
6 mit der Bitte: "Herr, mein Knecht liegt gelähmt zu Hause, er leidet fürchterliche Schmerzen."
and saying, "Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented."
7 Und Jesu sprach zu ihm: "Ich gehe hin und heile ihn."
And he said to him, "I will come and heal him."
8 Darauf erwiderte der Hauptmann: "Herr, ich bin nicht würdig, daß du eingehst unter mein Dach. Doch sprich nur ein Wort, so wird mein Knecht gesund.
And the centurion answered, "Lord, I'm not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
9 Denn auch ich bin ein Untergebener, habe Soldaten unter mir. Wenn ich zu dem da sage: 'Geh!' dann geht er; zu einem anderen: 'Komm!' dann kommt er; und zu meinem Knechte: 'Tu dies!' dann tut er es."
For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and tell another, 'Come,' and he comes; and tell my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
10 Als Jesus dies hörte, mußte er sich wundern und sprach zu denen, die ihm folgten: "Wahrlich, ich sage euch, solch einen Glauben habe ich bei niemand in Israel gefunden.
And when Yeshua heard it, he was amazed, and said to those who followed, "Truly I tell you, I have not found so great a faith with anyone in Israel.
11 Doch sage ich euch: Viele werden von Osten und von Westen kommen und mit Abraham, Isaak und Jakob im Himmelreich zu Tische sitzen;
And I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,
12 Die Kinder des Reiches aber werden hinausgeworfen in die Finsternis draußen. Dort wird Heulen und Zähneknirschen sein."
but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and grinding of teeth."
13 Und zu dem Hauptmann sprach Jesus: "Geh hin! Wie du geglaubt hast, soll dir geschehen." Und in derselben Stunde war der Knecht gesund.
And Yeshua said to the centurion, "Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed." And the servant was healed in that hour.
14 Dann kehrte Jesus im Hause des Petrus ein. Dort sah er dessen Schwiegermutter fieberkrank darniederliegen.
And when Yeshua came into Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever.
15 Er nahm sie bei der Hand, und das Fieber wich von ihr. Sie stand auf und diente ihm.
So he touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him.
16 Als es Abend geworden war, brachte man viele Besessene zu ihm. Mit einem Worte trieb er die Geister aus und heilte alle Kranken.
And when evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick;
17 So sollte sich erfüllen, was der Prophet Isaias gesprochen hat, wenn er sagt: "Er selbst nimmt unsere Schwachheiten auf sich, und er trägt die Krankheiten".
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, "He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases."
18 Da Jesus eine Menge Volkes um sich sah, befahl er, an das andere Ufer wegzufahren.
Now when Yeshua saw large crowds around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side.
19 Da trat ein Schriftgelehrter vor und sprach zu ihm: "Meister, ich will dir folgen, wohin du auch gehst."
Then a scribe came, and said to him, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go."
20 Doch Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Die Füchse haben Höhlen, die Vögel des Himmels Nester; der Menschensohn jedoch hat keine Stätte, wohin er sein Haupt legen könnte."
And Yeshua said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head."
21 Ein andrer seiner Jünger sprach zu ihm: "Laß, Herr, mich zuvor nochmals gehen, um meinen Vater zu begraben."
And another of the talmidim said to him, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father."
22 Doch Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Folge mir; und laß die Toten ihre Toten begraben."
But Yeshua said to him, "Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead."
23 Er stieg in ein Boot, und seine Jünger folgten ihm.
And when he got into a boat, his talmidim followed him.
24 Und siehe, ein gewaltiger Sturm erhob sich auf dem Meere, so daß das Boot von den Wellen überflutet ward. Er aber schlief.
And look, a violent storm came up on the lake, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.
25 Da traten sie heran, weckten ihn und riefen: "Herr! Hilf! Wir sind verloren."
They came to him, and woke him up, saying, "Save us, Lord. We are dying."
26 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: "Was seid ihr denn so furchtsam, ihr Kleingläubigen?" Alsdann erhob er sich, gebot den Winden und dem Meere, und es ward ganz still.
And he said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the lake, and there was a great calm.
27 Da sprachen die Menschen voll Verwunderung: "Wer ist doch dieser, daß ihm sogar die Winde und das Meer gehorchen?"
And the men were amazed, saying, "What kind of person is this, that even the wind and the lake obey him?"
28 Er kam ans andere Ufer in das Land der Gadarener. Da liefen zwei Besessene ihm in den Weg; sie kamen aus den Gräbern und waren sehr bösartig, so daß es niemand wagen durfte, jenen Weg zu gehen.
And when he came to the other side, into the country of the Gadarenes, two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way.
29 Sie schrien laut und sprachen: "Was willst du von uns, Sohn Gottes? Bist du hierhergekommen, uns vor der Zeit zu quälen?"
And look, they shouted, saying, "What do we have to do with you, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?"
30 Etwas entfernt von ihnen war eine große Schweineherde auf der Weide.
Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.
31 Da baten ihn die Dämonen und sprachen: "Wenn du uns austreibst, so schicke uns in die Schweineherde."
And the demons begged him, saying, "If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs."
32 Er sprach zu ihnen: "Fahret hin!" Sie fuhren aus und in die Schweine hinein, und siehe, die ganze Herde raste am Abhang hin ins Meer hinein; dort kamen sie im Wasser um.
And he said to them, "Go." And they came out, and went into the pigs, and look, the whole herd rushed down the cliff into the lake, and died in the water.
33 Die Hirten flohen und erzählten alles in der Stadt, auch den Vorfall mit den Besessenen.
And those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.
34 Siehe, da zog die ganze Stadt hinaus, Jesus entgegen. Und als sie ihn erblickten, baten sie ihn dringend, er möchte sich aus ihrem Gebiet entfernen.
And look, all the city came out to meet Yeshua. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.
