Matthaeus 22
1 Und Jesus redete nochmals in Gleichnissen zu ihnen:
Yeshua answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying,
2 "Das Himmelreich ist einem Könige gleich, der seinem Sohne Hochzeit hielt.
"The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,
3 Er sandte seine Knechte aus, um die Eingeladenen zum Feste herbeizurufen.
and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come.
4 Doch diese wollten nicht kommen. Er schickte nochmals andere Knechte mit dem Auftrag aus: 'Sagt den Geladenen: Seht, mein Gastmahl ist bereitet, meine Ochsen und das Mastvieh sind geschlachtet; alles steht bereit; kommt zur Hochzeit! '
Again he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "Look, I have made ready my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast."'
5 Doch diese gingen unbekümmert weiter: Der eine auf seinen Acker, ein anderer in sein Geschäft.
But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise,
6 Der Rest fiel über seine Knechte her, mißhandelte und erschlug sie.
and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.
7 Da ward der König zornig. Er schickte seine Heere hin, ließ jene Mörder töten und ihre Stadt in Brand stecken.
The king was enraged, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
8 Darauf sprach er zu seinen Knechten: 'Das Hochzeitsmahl ist bereitet; doch die Geladenen waren dessen nicht wert.
"Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren't worthy.
9 So geht denn an die Straßenausgänge und ruft zur Hochzeit, wen immer ihr findet.'
Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the marriage feast.'
10 Die Knechte gingen auf die Straßen und brachten alle, die sie gerade fanden, Böse und Gute; und der Hochzeitssaal füllte sich mit Gästen.
And those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all they found, both bad and good, and the wedding was filled with those reclining.
11 Der König trat herein, um sich die Gäste anzusehen. Dort sah er einen Menschen, der kein hochzeitliches Gewand anhatte.
But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who did not have on wedding clothing,
12 Er sprach zu ihm: 'Freund, wie bist du ohne hochzeitliches Gewand hereingekommen?' Doch dieser schwieg.
and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?' He was speechless.
13 Darauf gebot der König seinen Knechten: 'Bindet ihn an Füßen und an Händen und werft ihn in die äußerste Finsternis hinaus; dort wird Heulen und Zähneknirschen sein.'
Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.'
14 Denn viele sind berufen, wenige aber auserwählt."
For many are called, but few chosen."
15 Die Pharisäer gingen darauf hin und überlegten, wie sie ihm mit einer Frage eine Falle stellen könnten.
Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk.
16 Sie schickten ihre Schüler mit den Herodianern zu ihm mit der Frage: "Meister, wir wissen, daß du wahrhaftig bist und den Weg Gottes in Wahrheit lehrst; du fragst nach niemand, denn du siehst nicht auf die Person der Menschen.
They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter whom you teach, for you are not partial to anyone.
17 So sage uns denn, was meinst du wohl: Darf man dem Kaiser Steuer zahlen oder nicht?"
Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"
18 Doch Jesus erkannte ihre Bosheit und sprach: "Warum versuchet ihr mich, ihr Heuchler?
But Yeshua perceived their wickedness, and said, "Why do you test me, you hypocrites?
19 Zeigt mir die Steuermünze!" Da reichten sie ihm einen Denar.
Show me the tax money." They brought to him a denura.
20 Er fragte sie: "Wessen Bild und Aufschrift ist dies?"
He asked them, "Whose is this image and inscription?"
21 Sie gaben ihm zur Antwort: "Des Kaisers." Da sagte er zu ihnen: "So gebet also dem Kaiser, was des Kaisers, und Gott, was Gottes ist."
They said to him, "Caesar's." Then he said to them, "Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
22 Als sie dies hörten, staunten sie, verließen ihn und gingen weg.
When they heard it, they were astonished, and left him, and went away.
23 Am selben Tage kamen zu ihm Sadduzäer - diese leugnen, daß es eine Auferstehung gibt.
On that day Sadducees came to him, the ones saying that there is no resurrection. And they asked him,
24 Sie sagten: "Meister, Moses hat geboten: 'Wenn einer stirbt, ohne daß er Kinder hinterläßt, dann soll sein Bruder dessen Weib heiraten und dem Bruder Nachkommen erwecken.'
saying, "Teacher, Mushe said, 'If a man dies, having no children, his brother is to marry his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.'
25 Nun waren bei uns sieben Brüder. Der erste heiratete und starb. Und weil er keine Kinder hatte, hinterließ er sein Weib seinem Bruder.
Now there were with us seven brothers. The first married and died, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother.
26 Und ebenso erging es dem zweiten, dem dritten bis zum siebten.
In like manner the second also, and the third, to the seventh.
27 Zuletzt von allen starb das Weib.
After them all, the woman died.
28 Wem von den sieben wird sie als Weib bei der Auferstehung angehören; denn alle haben sie gehabt?"
In the resurrection therefore, whose wife will she be of the seven? For they all had her."
29 Jesus antwortete ihnen: "Ihr seid im Irrtum. Denn ihr versteht weder die Schrift noch die Allmacht Gottes.
But Yeshua answered them, "You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 Die Auferstandenen heiraten nicht und werden auch nicht mehr verheiratet; sie sind vielmehr wie Engel Gottes im Himmel.
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like the angels in heaven.
31 Und weiter, über die Auferstehung von den Toten habt ihr da den Ausspruch Gottes nicht gelesen:
But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,
32 'Ich bin der Gott Abrahams, der Gott Isaaks und der Gott Jakobs'? Gott ist doch nicht ein Gott der Toten, sondern der Lebendigen."
'I am the God of Avraham, and the God of Iskhaq, and the God of Yaquv?' God is not the God of the dead, but of the living."
33 Die Scharen hörten dies und staunten über seine Lehre.
When the crowds heard it, they were astonished at his teaching.
34 Als die Pharisäer hörten, daß er so die Sadduzäer zum Schweigen gebracht hatte, kamen sie zusammen.
But the Pharisees, when they heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, gathered themselves together.
35 Da wollte ihn einer aus ihnen, ein Gesetzeslehrer, versuchen;
One of them, a Law scholar, asked him a question, testing him.
36 er fragte ihn: "Meister, welches Gebot im Gesetz ist ein großes?"
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?"
37 Er sprach zu ihm: "'Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, lieben, aus deinem ganzen Herzen, aus deiner ganzen Seele, aus deinem ganzen Gemüte.'
He said to him, "'You are to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
38 Dies ist das größte und das erste Gebot.
This is the great and first commandment.
39 Ein anderes aber ist diesem gleich: 'Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst.'
A second likewise is this, 'You are to love your neighbor as yourself.'
40 An diesen beiden Geboten hängt das ganze Gesetz und die Propheten."
The whole Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments."
41 Wie nun die Pharisäer beieinander waren, da legte ihnen Jesus die Frage vor:
Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Yeshua asked them a question,
42 "Was haltet ihr von Christus? Wessen Sohn ist er?" Sie gaben ihm zur Antwort: "Davids Sohn."
saying, "What do you think of the Meshikha? Whose son is he?" They said to him, "Of Dawid."
43 Er fragte sie weiter: "Wie kann aber David im Geist ihn 'Herr' nennen, da, wo er sagt:
He said to them, "How then does Dawid in the Rukha call him Lord, saying,
44 'Es sprach der Herr zu meinem Herrn: Setze dich zu meiner Rechten, bis ich deine Feinde dir zu Füßen lege '?
'The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet'?
45 Wenn David ihn also 'Herr' nennt, wie ist er dann sein Sohn?"
"If then Dawid calls him Lord, how is he his son?"
46 Und niemand konnte ihm darauf ein Wort erwidern; auch wagte es von jenem Tag an keiner mehr, ihn überhaupt zu fragen.
No one was able to answer him a word, neither did anyone dare ask him any more questions from that day forth.
