Markus 5
1 So kamen sie übers Meer hinüber in das Land der Gerasener.
AND they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 Kaum war er aus dem Boot gestiegen, da lief ihm sogleich aus den Gräbern ein Mensch entgegen, der von einem unreinen Geist besessen war.
And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 Er hauste in den Gräbern, und niemand konnte ihn fesseln, auch nicht mit einer Kette.
Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4 Man hatte ihn zwar oft an Händen und Füßen schon gefesselt, jedoch die Ketten hatte er gesprengt, die Fesseln durchgerieben, und niemand war imstande, ihn zu bändigen.
Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
5 So war er denn beständig, Tag und Nacht, in Gräbern und auf Bergeshöhen, schrie und schlug sich selbst mit Steinen.
And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
6 Da sah er Jesus aus der Ferne; er lief herzu, fiel vor ihm auf den Boden nieder
But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
7 und schrie laut und gellend auf: "Was willst du von mir, Jesus, du Sohn des allerhöchsten Gottes? Ich beschwöre dich bei Gott: Quäle mich nicht!"
And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8 Denn schon sprach er zu ihm: "Unreiner Geist, fahr aus von diesem Menschen!"
For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
9 Er fragte ihn: "Wie ist dein Name?" "Mein Name ist Legion", antwortete er ihm, "denn unser sind gar viele."
And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
10 Er bat ihn flehentlich, sie doch nicht aus dem Lande zu vertreiben.
And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
11 Nun war am Berge dort eine große Schweineherde auf der Weide.
Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
12 Sie baten ihn und sprachen: "Schick uns zu den Schweinen, auf daß wir in sie fahren!"
And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
13 Er gewährte es ihnen. Da fuhren die unreinen Geister aus und in die Schweine; die Herde raste am Abhang hin und ins Meer hinein, ungefähr zweitausend Stück, und sie ertranken im Meere.
And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand; ) and were choked in the sea.
14 Ihre Hirten flohen und erzählten es in der Stadt und auf dem Lande. Und sie kamen, um zu sehen, was vorgefallen war.
And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
15 Sie gingen auch zu Jesus und sahen den Besessenen, der die Legion gehabt, bekleidet und vernünftig dasitzen. Da gerieten sie in Furcht.
And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
16 Die zugesehen hatten, erzählten ihnen, was mit dem Besessenen und den Schweinen vorgefallen war.
And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.
17 Da baten sie ihn dringend, er möge sich aus ihren Grenzen entfernen.
And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.
18 Als er das Boot besteigen wollte, da bat ihn der Besessene, ob er nicht mit ihm gehen dürfe.
And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
19 Doch er gestattete es nicht; er sprach zu ihm: "Geh heim zu den Deinen; erzähle ihnen, was der Herr an dir Großes getan und wie er sich deiner erbarmt hat."
Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
20 Da ging er hin und verkündete in der Dekapolis, was Jesus ihm getan hatte; und alle mußten staunen.
And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.
21 Und Jesus fuhr im Boot wieder zum anderen Ufer hin, und es versammelte sich bei ihm viel Volk. Er hielt sich immer noch am Meere auf.
And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.
22 Da kam einer der Synagogenvorsteher; er hieß Jairus. Er sah ihn und fiel ihm zu Füßen
And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
23 und bat ihn flehentlich: "Mein Töchterchen liegt im Sterben; daß du doch kommen und ihm die Hände auflegen wolltest, damit es gerettet sei und lebe."
And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.
24 Er ging mit ihm. Viel Volk ging hintendrein, und sie umdrängten ihn.
And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
25 Da war ein Weib, das schon zwölf Jahre am Blutfluß litt
And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
26 und von vielen Ärzten schon vieles hatte leiden müssen und seine ganze Habe ohne jeden Nutzen aufgewendet hatte; im Gegenteil, nur immer schlimmer war es gegangen.
And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27 Sie hatte von Jesus gehört und kam jetzt in der Menge hinterher und berührte sein Gewand.
When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28 Denn also dachte sie: "Wenn ich auch nur seine Kleider berühre, so ist mir schon geholfen."
For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29 Und ihr Blutfluß hörte sogleich auf; sie spürte es an ihrem Leibe, daß sie von ihren Leiden geheilt sei.
And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
30 Doch Jesus merkte alsbald an sich, daß eine Kraft von ihm ausgegangen sei. Deshalb wandte er sich zu der Menge um und fragte: "Wer hat meine Kleider angerührt?"
And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 Da sprachen seine Jünger zu ihm: "Du siehst doch, wie die Menge dich umdrängt; da fragst du noch: 'Wer hat mich angerührt?'"
And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 Jedoch, er schaute nach der um, die es getan hatte.
And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33 Das Weib, das wußte, was mit ihr geschehen war, kam mit Zittern und Zagen heran, fiel vor ihm nieder und sagte ihm die volle Wahrheit.
But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 Er aber sprach zu ihr: "Meine Tochter! Dein Glaube hat dir geholfen. Geh hin im Frieden und sei von deinem Leiden geheilt!"
And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
35 Noch sprach er so, da kamen Boten vom Hause des Synagogenvorstehers und sagten: "Deine Tochter ist gestorben. Wozu bemühst du noch den Meister?"
While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
36 Jesus, der mitangehört hatte, was da geredet wurde, sprach zum Synagogenvorsteher: "Hab keine Furcht! Glaube nur!"
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
37 Und niemand durfte ihn begleiten als Petrus, Jakobus und Johannes, der Bruder des Jakobus.
And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
38 Sie kamen in das Haus des Synagogenvorstehers; hier hörte er den Lärm, das Weinen und das laute Klagen.
And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.
39 Er ging hinein und sprach zu ihnen: "Was lärmt und weint ihr? Das Mädchen ist nicht tot; es schläft nur."
And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
40 Da verlachten sie ihn. Er aber schickte alle weg, nahm nur den Vater und die Mutter des Kindes mit sich und die bei ihm waren und ging hinein, wo das Mädchen lag.
And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.
41 Dann faßte er das Mädchen bei der Hand und sprach zu ihm: "Talitha kumi!" - d. h. "Mädchen, steh auf!" -
And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
42 Und sogleich stand das Mädchen auf und ging umher; es war zwölf Jahre alt. Sie gerieten vor Staunen ganz außer sich.
And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
43 Er schärfte ihnen streng ein, daß niemand es erfahren dürfe; dann ließ er ihm zu essen geben.
And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
