3 Mose 17

1 Und der Herr sprach zu Moses also:

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

2 "Rede mit Aaron, seinen Söhnen und mit allen Söhnen Israels und sprich zu ihnen: 'Dies ist es, was der Herr gebietet:

Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, saying,

3 Jeder vom Hause Israel, der ein Rind, ein Lamm oder eine Ziege im Lager schlachtet oder außerhalb des Lagers schlachtet

Any man whatsoever of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or a sheep, or a goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,

4 und sie nicht an des Festgezeltes Pforte bringt, um vor des Herrn Wohnung sie dem Herrn als Opfergabe darzubringen, dem werde es als Blutschuld angerechnet, hat er doch Blut vergossen! Dieser Mann werde aus seinem Volke gestrichen,

And bringeth it not to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it as an offering unto the Lord before the tabernacle of the Lord: as blood-guiltiness shall it be imputed unto that man, blood hath he shed; and that man shall be cut off from among his people.

5 auf daß die Israeliten ihre Schlachtopfer, die sie auf freiem Feld schlachteten, zum Priester an des Festgezeltes Pforte dem Herrn bringen und sie als Dankopfer dem Herrn schlachten!

In order that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they slay in the open field, and bring them unto the Lord, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and slay them as sacrifices of peace-offerings unto the Lord.

6 Der Priester besprenge mit dem Blut den Altar an des Festgezeltes Pforte und lasse das Fett aufdampfen zu süßem Duft für den Herrn!

And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation; and he shall burn the fat for a sweet savor unto the Lord.

7 Sie sollen aber ihre Schlachtopfer nicht mehr den Bocksgestalten opfern, denen sie nachhuren! Dies sei ihnen ewige Satzung in ihren Geschlechtern.'

So that they shall offer no more their sacrifices unto evil spirits, after which they have gone astray: a statute for ever shall this be unto them throughout their generations.

8 Und du sollst ihnen sagen: 'Wer vom Hause Israel und von den Fremden, die in seiner Mitte weilen, Brand- oder Schlachtopfer darbringt

And unto them shalt thou say, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who may sojourn among them, that offereth a burnt-offering or a sacrifice,

9 und es nicht vor des Festgezeltes Pforte bringt, es für den Herrn zu bereiten, ein solcher werde aus seinem Volke gestrichen!

And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the Lord: even that man shall be cut off from among his people.

10 Und gegen jeden vom Hause Israel und von den Fremdlingen bei ihnen, der irgend Blut genießt, will ich mein Antlitz richten und ihn aus seinem Volke streichen!

And if there be any man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that eateth any manner of blood: I will set my face against the person that eateth the blood, and I will cut him off from among his people.

11 Des Fleisches Leben ist im Blute. Für den Altar habe ich es euch gegeben, um euch selbst Sühne zu schaffen. Denn Blut schafft Sühne durch das Leben.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have appointed it for you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls; for the blood it is that maketh an atonement for the soul.

12 Darum sage ich zu den Söhnen Israels: Von euch darf niemand Blut genießen, auch nicht der Fremde unter euch.

Therefore have I said unto the children of Israel, No one of you shall eat blood, and the stranger that sojourneth among you shall not eat blood.

13 Und jeder Israelit und jeder ihrer Fremdlinge, der sich ein Wild erlegt oder eßbares Geflügel, lasse sein Blut auslaufen und bedecke es mit Erde!

And if there be any man whatsoever of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, who catcheth by hunting any beast or fowl that may be eaten: then shall he pour out the blood thereof, and cover it up with dust.

14 Denn jedes Fleisches Leben ist sein Blut kraft seines Lebensodems. Darum sage ich zu den Söhnen Israels: Von keinem Fleische dürft ihr das Blut genießen. Denn jedes Fleisches Leben ist sein Blut. Jeder werde ausgestrichen, der es genießt!

For the life of all flesh is its blood, on which its life dependeth; therefore have I said unto the children of Israel, The blood of every manner of flesh shall ye not eat; for the life of all flesh is its blood, every one who eateth it shall be cut off.

15 Und jegliche Person, die Gefallenes oder Zerrissenes ißt, Eingeborener oder Fremdling, wasche ihre Kleider und bade sich in Wasser! Er bleibt bis zum Abend unrein.

And every person that eateth that which hath died of itself, or that which was torn by beasts, be this one born in your own country, or a stranger, shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the evening, when he shall be clean.

16 Wäscht er nicht und badet er nicht seinen Leib, dann zieht er sich Schuld zu.'"

But if he wash [them] not, nor bathe his flesh, then shall he bear his iniquity.
