Johannes 10
1 "Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer nicht durch die Tür in den Schafstall geht, vielmehr woanders einsteigt, ist ein Dieb und Räuber.
Verily, verily, I say to you, That he who doth not enter by the door into the fold of the flock, but climbeth up in some other place, he is a thief and a robber.
2 Wer aber durch die Tür eingeht, ist der Hirt der Schafe.
But he that entereth by the door, is the shepherd of the flock.
3 Ihm öffnet der Torhüter, und auch die Schafe kennen seine Stimme. Er ruft seine Schafe bei Namen und führt sie heraus.
And to him the door-keeper openeth the door; and the sheep hear his voice. And he calleth the sheep by their names, and leadeth them out.
4 Hat er dann alle, die ihm gehören, hinausgelassen, so geht er vor ihnen her; die Schafe folgen ihm, weil sie seine Stimme kennen.
And when he hath led out his flock, he goeth before it; and his sheep follow him, because they know his voice.
5 Einem Fremden aber werden sie nie folgen, vielmehr vor ihm fliehen, weil sie die Stimme des Fremden nicht kennen."
But after a stranger the flock will not follow, but it fleeth from him; because it knoweth not the voice of a stranger.
6 Dieses Gleichnis trug Jesus ihnen vor. Doch sie verstanden nicht, wen er damit meinte.
This allegory spake Jesus to them; but they knew not what he said to them.
7 Darauf sprach Jesus zu ihnen: "Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Ich bin die Tür zu den Schafen.
And Jesus said to them again: Verily, verily, I say to you, That I am the door of the flock.
8 Alle, die vor mir kamen, sind Diebe und Räuber. Deshalb haben auch die Schafe nicht auf sie gehört.
All those who have come, were thieves and robbers: but the flock did not hear them.
9 Ich bin die Tür. Wer durch mich eingeht, der wird gerettet werden; er wird ein- und ausgehen und Weide finden.
I am the door: and if any enter by me, he will live, and will come in and go out, and will find pasture.
10 Der Dieb kommt nur, um zu stehlen, zu schlachten und zu verderben. Ich komme, damit sie Leben haben, ja, damit sie es überreichlich haben.
The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy. I have come, that they may have life, and may have that which is excellent.
11 Ich bin der gute Hirt. Der gute Hirt setzt sein Leben für seine Schafe ein.
I am a good shepherd. A good shepherd exposeth his life for the sheep.
12 Der Mietling aber, der kein Hirt ist und dem die Schafe nicht gehören, sieht, wie der Wolf kommt; er läßt die Schafe im Stich und entflieht, und der Wolf fällt die Schafe an und versprengt sie.
But a hireling, who is not the shepherd, and to whom the sheep do not belong, when he seeth the wolf coming, leaveth the flock, and fleeth; and the wolf cometh, and teareth, and disperseth the flock.
13 Der Mietling flieht, weil er Mietling ist und ihm nichts an den Schafen liegt.
And a hireling fleeth, because he is a hireling, and hath no concern for the flock.
14 Ich bin der gute Hirt; ich kenne die Meinen, und die Meiner, kennen mich,
I am a good shepherd; and I know my own sheep, and am known by my own.
15 wie mich der Vater kennt und ich den Vater kenne. Ich setze mein Leben ein für die Schafe.
As my Father knoweth me, so know I my Father; and I expose my life for the flock.
16 Ich habe noch andere Schafe, die nicht aus diesem Schafstall sind. Auch diese muß ich führen; sie werden meine Stimme hören, dann wird es eine Herde und ein Hirt sein.
And I have other sheep, which are not of this fold: and them also I must bring; and they will hear my voice; and the whole will be one flock, and one shepherd.
17 Deshalb liebt mich auch der Vater, weil ich mein Leben einsetze, um es wiederzugewinnen.
For this cause my Father loveth me, that I lay down my life, to resume it again.
18 Niemand entreißt es mir; freiwillig setze ich es ein. Ich habe Macht, es hinzugeben, und habe Macht, es wiederzugewinnen. Das ist der Auftrag, den ich von meinem Vater erhalten habe."
There is no one that taketh it from me; but I lay it down of my own pleasure: for I have authority to lay it down, and authority to resume it again; because I have received this command from my Father.
19 Wiederum entstand ein Zwiespalt bei den Juden wegen dieser Rede.
And again there was a division among the Jews, on account of these sayings.
20 Viele von ihnen sagten: "Er ist besessen und von Sinnen. Was hört ihr ihm noch zu?"
And many of them said: He hath a demon, and is wholly beside himself; why hear ye him?
21 Andere sagten: "Das sind nicht Reden eines Besessenen; kann denn ein Dämon Blinden die Augen öffnen?"
But others said: These are not the discourses of a demoniac: can a demon open the eyes of one blind?
22 Man feierte das Fest der Tempelweihe in Jerusalem. Es war Winter.
And the feast of the dedication was held at Jerusalem, and it was winter.
23 Und Jesus ging im Tempel, in der Halle Salomos, hin und her.
And Jesus walked in the temple, in the porch of Solomon.
24 Da umringten ihn die Juden und fragten ihn: "Wie lange läßt du uns im Ungewissen? Wenn du der Christus bist, so sag es uns offen heraus!"
And the Jews gathered around him; and said to him: how long holdest thou our mind in suspense? If thou art the Messiah, tell us plainly.
25 Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Ich habe es euch ja schon gesagt, doch ihr glaubt nicht. Die Werke, die ich im Namen meines Vaters vollbringe, zeugen für mich.
Jesus answered, and said to them: I have told you, and ye did not believe. The works which I do in the name of my Father, they testify of me
26 Allein ihr glaubt nicht, weil ihr nicht aus meinen Schafen seid.
But ye do not believe, because ye are not of my sheep, as I have said to you.
27 Denn meine Schafe hören meine Stimme; ich kenne sie, und sie folgen mir.
My sheep hear my voice: and I know them: and they go after me.
29 Mein Vater, der sie mir gegeben hat, ist größer als alle, und niemand kann sie der Hand meines Vaters entreißen.
For my Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; nor can any pluck from my Father's hand.
30 Ich und der Vater sind eins."
I and my Father are one.
31 Da hoben die Juden wiederum Steine auf, um ihn zu steinigen.
And again the Jews took up stones, to stone him.
32 Da sprach Jesus zu ihnen: "Viele gute Werke ließ ich euch in der Macht meines Vaters sehen. Um welches dieser Werke willen wollt ihr mich steinigen?"
Jesus said to them: Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 Die Juden sagten zu ihm: "Nicht eines guten Werkes wegen wollen wir dich steinigen, sondern der Gotteslästerung wegen, da du, der du nur ein Mensch bist, dich zu Gott machst."
The Jews said to him: It is not on account of good works, that we stone thee: but because thou blasphemest; and, whilst thou art a man, thou makest thyself God.
34 Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Steht nicht in eurem Gesetz geschrieben: 'Ich sagte: Ihr seid Götter?'
Jesus said to them: Is it not written in your law, I have said, Ye are gods?
35 Wenn schon jene Götter heißen, an die das Wort Gottes erging, und da die Schrift nicht aufgehoben werden kann,
If he called them gods, because the word of God was with them, and the scripture cannot be nullified;
36 wie könnt ihr von dem, den der Vater geweiht und in die Welt gesandt hat, sagen: 'Du lästerst Gott, 'weil ich gesagt habe: Ich bin der Sohn Gottes?
do ye say to him, whom the Father, hath sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said to you, I am the Son of God?
37 Wenn ich die Werke meines Vaters nicht vollbringe, dann braucht ihr mir auch nicht zu glauben.
And if I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38 Vollbringe ich sie aber und wollt ihr trotzdem mir nicht glauben, so glaubt doch wenigstens meinen Werken, auf daß ihr klar erkennt, daß der Vater in mir ist und ich im Vater bin."
But if I do them, although ye believe not me, yet believe the works; that ye may know and believe, that my Father is in me, and I in my Father.
39 Da suchten sie ihn wieder zu ergreifen; doch er entzog sich ihren Händen.
And again they sought to lay hold of him; but he escaped out of their hands;
40 Dann überschritt er wiederum den Jordan und ging an den Ort, wo Johannes vormals getauft hatte. Dort blieb er.
and retired to the other side of the Jordan, to the place where John at first baptized, and tarried there.
41 Und viele kamen zu ihm und sagten: "Johannes hat kein Zeichen gewirkt; doch alles, was Johannes von diesem gesagt hat, hat sich als wahr erwiesen."
And many persons came to him: and they said, John indeed wrought not even one sign; but every thing that John said of his man, was true.
42 Und viele glaubten dort an ihn.
And many believed on him.
