Jeremia 39
1 Im neunten Jahr des Judakönigs Sedekias, im zehnten Monat, zog Babels König Nebukadrezar mit seinem ganzen Heere vor Jerusalem, um dieses einzuschließen.
And it came to pass, when Jerusalem was taken, (in the ninth year of Zedekiah, the king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and all his army, against Jerusalem, and besieged it;
2 Im elften Jahre des Sedekias, am neunten Tage des vierten Monats, ward Bresche in die Stadt gelegt.
and in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, was the city broken into, )
3 Da kamen alle Obersten des Babelkönigs und ließen sich am Mitteltore nieder, Nergalsareser, Samgar Nebo, Sarsekim, der Oberkämmerer, der Obermagier Nergalsareser und alle anderen Obersten des Babelkönigs.
that all the chieftains of the king of Babylon came, and stationed themselves in the middle gate, Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, prefect of the eunuchs, Nergalsharezer, prefect of the magians, and all the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon.
4 Als aber Sedekias, Judas König, sowie das ganze Kriegsvolk sie erblickten, ergriffen sie die Flucht und gingen aus der Stadt zur Nachtzeit auf dem Weg zum Königsgarten, durch das Tor, das zwischen den zwei Mauern liegt, und zwar ging er hinaus der Jordansteppe zu.
And when Zedekiah, the king of Judah, and all the men of war, saw them, they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, through the gate between the two walls; and they went forth toward the plain.
5 Darauf verfolgten die Truppen der Chaldäer sie und holten in den Steppen Jerichos den Sedekias ein, ergriffen ihn und führten ihn zum Babelkönig Nebukadrezar, nach Ribla in dem Land von Hamat, und er sprach ihm das Urteil.
But the army of the Chaldaeans pursued them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and they took him, and brought him to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, at Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment concerning him.
6 Des Sedekias Söhne ließ der Babelkönig zu Ribla selbst vor seinen Augen schlachten. Auch alle Edlen Judas ließ der Babelkönig abschlachten.
And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah at Riblah before his eyes; and all the nobles of Judah did the king of Babylon slay.
7 Den Sedekias aber ließ er blenden und in Ketten legen und mit nach Babel nehmen.
And he put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, to carry him to Babylon.
8 Das Königshaus sowie den Tempel verbrannten die Chaldäer, und sie zerstörten auch die Mauern von Jerusalem.
And the Chaldaeans burned the king's house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and they broke down the walls of Jerusalem.
9 Des Volkes Rest, der in der Stadt verblieb, sowie die Überläufer, die ihm zugelaufen waren, des Volkes Rest, der übrig blieb, die führte Nebuzaradan, der Oberste der Leibwächter, nach Babel weg.
And the residue of the people that remained in the city, and the deserters who had come over to him, the residue of the people that remained, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, carried away to Babylon.
10 Von den geringen Leuten aber, die nichts hatten, ließ Nebuzaradan, der Oberste der Leibwächter, noch etliche im Judaland zurück und schenkte ihnen an jenem Tage Weingärten und Äcker.
But the poor of the people, who had nothing, Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, left in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.
11 Für Jeremias gab der Babelkönig Nebukadrezar dem Nebuzaradan, dem Obersten der Leibwächter, Befehl:
And Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, saying,
12 "Hol ihn; trag für ihn Sorge! Laß ihm kein Leid geschehen! Wie er dir sagt, so tu mit ihm!"
“Take him, and have thine eyes upon him, and do him no harm; but do to him even as he shall say to you.”
13 Darauf ließen Nebuzaradan, der Oberste der Leibwächter, der Oberste der Kämmerer, Nebusazban, der Obermagier Nergalsareser und alle Obersten des Babelkönigs
Then sent Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, and Nebushasban, prefect of the eunuchs, and Nergalsharezer, prefect of the magians, and all the princes of the king of Babylon,
14 den Jeremias aus dem Wachthof holen und übergaben ihn Gedalja, dem Sohne Achikams, des Saphansohnes, auf daß er ihn in Freiheit setze und nach Haus entließe. So blieb er mitten unterm Volke.
they sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home; and he dwelt among the people.
15 An Jeremias aber war ein Herrenwort ergangen, als er in Haft im Wachthof war:
Now the word of Jehovah had come to Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying:
16 "Geh! Sprich zu Ebedmelech, dem Äthiopen: 'So spricht der Heeresscharen Herr, Gott Israels: Fürwahr, Ich lasse meine Worte über diese Stadt zum Unheil, nicht zum Heile, in Erfüllung gehen, und zwar an diesem Tage. Vor deinen Augen wird's geschehen.
Go and speak to Ebedmelech, the Ethiopian, and say: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I bring my words upon this city for evil and not for good, and with thine own eyes shalt thou see it in that day.
17 Dich aber errette ich an jenem Tage.' Ein Spruch des Herrn. 'Du fällst nicht in der Männer Hand, vor denen es dir graut.
But I will deliver thee in that day, saith Jehovah; and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.
18 Nein! Ich errette dich gewiß. Du fällst nicht durch das Schwert. Du wirst dein Leben dir erbeuten, weil du auf mich vertraust.'" Ein Spruch des Herrn.
But I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be to thee as a prey; because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith Jehovah.
