Jeremia 36
1 Im vierten Jahr des Judakönigs Jojakim, des Sohnes des Josias, erging vom Herrn das Wort an Jeremias:
And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying:
2 "Nimm eine Buchrolle! Drauf schreibe all die Worte, die ich zu dir geredet gegen Israel und Juda und gegen alle andern Völker, seitdem ich zu dir sprach von des Josias Zeiten bis auf diesen Tag!
Take thee a book-roll, and write upon it all the words which I have spoken to thee concerning Israel, and concerning Judah, and concerning all the nations, from the day when I began to speak to thee even to this day.
3 Vielleicht vernimmt das Judahaus das ganze Ungemach, das ich ihm anzutun gedenke. Wenn dann ein jeglicher von seinem schlimmen Wege läßt, dann schenke ich auch ihnen Schuld und Missetat."
It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do to them, and return every one from his evil way, so that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
4 Darauf rief Jeremias Baruch, des Neria Sohn, herbei, und Baruch schrieb in eine Buchrolle aus Jeremias' Munde all die Herrenworte auf, die er zu ihm gesprochen.
Then Jeremiah called Baruch, the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of Jehovah which he had spoken to him, upon a book-roll.
5 Darauf trug Jeremias dem Baruch auf: "Ich selber bin verhindert am Besuch im Haus des Herrn.
And Jeremiah commanded Baruch and said: I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of Jehovah;
6 Geh du jetzt hin! Lies aus der Rolle, die du meinem Munde abgeschrieben, die Herrenworte laut dem Volk am Festtag vor im Haus des Herrn! Lies sie auch vor den Ohren von ganz Juda, das aus seinen Städten kommt!
therefore, go thou, and read in the roll which thou hast written from my mouth the words of Jehovah, in the ears of the people, in the house of Jehovah, upon the fast-day; also in the ears of all Judah, that come out of their cities, shalt thou read them.
7 Vielleicht wird ihr Gebet dem Herren unterbreitet, wenn jeglicher von seinem schlimmen Wege läßt. Gewaltig ist der Zorn und Grimm, mit dem der Herr dies Volk bedroht."
It may be that they will prostrate themselves in supplication before Jehovah, and will return every one from his evil way. For great is the anger and the indignation which Jehovah hath denounced against this people.
8 Und Baruch, des Neria Sohn, tat alles, was Jeremias, der Prophet, ihm anbefohlen. Er las im Haus des Herrn die Herrenworte aus dem Buche vor.
And Baruch, the son of Neriah, did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of Jehovah in the house of Jehovah.
9 Im fünften Jahr des Judakönigs und Josiassohnes, Jojakim, am neunten Neumond, da geschah, daß man zu einem Fasten vor dem Herrn das ganze Volk Jerusalems berief, desgleichen alles Volk, das aus den Städten Judas nach Jerusalem gekommen war.
And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, that all the people in Jerusalem, and all the people that came out of the cities of Judah, proclaimed a fast before Jehovah, in Jerusalem.
10 Dabei las Baruch aus dem Buche des Jeremias Worte laut vor allem Volke vor, im Haus des Herrn, im Raum des Schreibers und Saphansohns, Gemarja, im oberen Hof, am neuen Tor am Haus des Herrn.
Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah, in the chamber of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entrance of the new gate of the house of Jehovah, in the ears of all the people.
11 Michaja, des Gemarja Sohn und Saphans Enkel, auch er vernahm die Herrenworte aus dem Buche alle.
And when Micah, the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard from the book all the words of Jehovah,
12 Da ging er zu dem Haus des Königs in den Raum des Schreibers; dort saßen eben alle Fürsten beieinander, der Schreiber Elisama und Delaja, des Semaja Sohn, und Elnatan, der Sohn des Akbor, und Gemarja, Saphans Sohn, und Sedekias, des Ananja Sohn, und alle andern Fürsten.
he went down to the king's house, into the scribe's chamber; and lo, all the princes were sitting there, Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah, the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan, the son of Achbor, and Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah, the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.
13 Da meldete Michaja ihnen alle Worte, die er vernommen, als Baruch aus dem Buch dem Volk laut vorgelesen hatte.
Then Micah declared to them all the words which he had heard when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.
14 Da schickten alle diese Fürsten zu Baruch Jehudi, Netanjas Sohn und Enkel des Selemja, des Kusisohnes, und ließen sagen: "Bring die Rolle, aus der dem Volke du laut vorgelesen, mit und mach dich auf den Weg!" Da nahm Nerias Sohn, nahm Baruch, die Rolle mit und kam zu ihnen.
Then all the princes sent Jehudi, the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, and said, “Take in thy hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come.” So Baruch, the son of Neriah, took the roll in his hand, and came to them.
15 Da sprachen sie zu ihm: "Lies sie noch einmal auch uns vor mit lauter Stimme!" Darauf las Baruch ihnen sie laut vor.
And they said to him, “Sit down now, and read it in our ears.” And Baruch read it in their ears.
16 Doch wie sie alle diese Worte hörten, da sahen sie erschrocken einander an und sprachen dann zu Baruch: "Das alles müssen wir dem König melden."
And when they had heard all the words, they looked with consternation upon one another, and they said to Baruch, “We must tell the king of all these things.”
17 Den Baruch aber baten sie: "Teil uns doch mit: Wie schriebst du alle diese Worte für uns aus seinem Munde nieder?"
And they asked Baruch, saying, “Tell us now, how didst thou write all these words from his mouth?”
18 Da sprach zu ihnen Baruch. "Er trug mir auswendig all diese Worte vor; dann schrieb ich sie mit Tinte in das Buch."
And Baruch said to them, “With his mouth he pronounced to me all these words, and I wrote them on the book with ink.”
19 Die Fürsten sprachen nun zu Baruch: "Geh hin! Verbirg dich samt dem Jeremias! Und niemand wisse, wo ihr seid!"
Then said the princes to Baruch, “Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah, and let no man know where ye are.”
20 Dann gingen eilends sie zum König, nachdem sie in des Schreibers Elisama Kammer die Rolle hinterlegt, und meldeten dem König selbst all diese Dinge.
And they went in to the king into the court; but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and they told all these things in the ears of the king.
21 Der König sandte den Jehudi hin, die Rolle beizubringen; der holt' sie aus des Schreibers Elisama Kammer; Jehudi las sie laut dem König vor und allen Fürsten um den König.
Then the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll, and he took it out of the chamber of Elishama the scribe; and Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes who stood beside the king.
22 Der König aber saß im Winterhaus im neunten Monat, vor ihm ein brennend Kohlenbecken.
And the king was sitting in the winter-house, in the ninth month, and a brasier was burning before him.
23 Sooft Jehudi drei, vier Spalten vorgelesen, schnitt er sie mit dem Federmesser ab und warf sie in das Feuer im Kohlenbecken, bis die ganze Rolle ins Feuer in dem Kohlenbecken kam.
And when Jehudi had read three or four sections, he [[the king]] cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire, into the brasier, until the whole roll was consumed in the fire in the brasier.
24 Sie aber zeigten keinen Schrecken und zerrissen ihre Kleider nicht, weder der König noch ein einziger seiner Diener, die alle diese Worte angehört.
And they were not afraid, and rent not their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants, who heard all these words;
25 Doch gleichwohl hatten Elnatan und Delaja und Gemarja den König flehentlich gebeten, er möge doch die Rolle nicht verbrennen; er aber hörte nicht auf sie.
and although Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah interceded with the king not to burn the roll, yet he would not hearken to them.
26 Vielmehr befahl der König Jerachmeel, dem Königssohne, dem Sohne Azriels, Seraja und Adeels Sohne, Selemja, den Schreiber Baruch zu verhaften samt Jeremias, dem Propheten; der Herr jedoch hielt sie verborgen.
And the king commanded Jerahmeel, the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah, the son of Azreel, and Shelemiah, the son of Abdeel, to seize Baruch the scribe, and Jeremiah the prophet; but Jehovah had hid them.
27 Darauf erging das Wort des Herrn an Jeremias, nachdem der König jene Rolle mit den Worten verbrannt, die Baruch aus des Jeremias Munde aufgeschrieben hatte. Dies war sein Inhalt:
Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch had written from the mouth of Jeremiah, saying:
28 "Jetzt nimm dir eine andre Rolle und schreib darauf die früheren Worte alle, die auf der ersten Rolle standen und die der König Judas, Jojakim, verbrannt!
Take thee another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim, king of Judah, hath burned.
29 Auch gegen Jojakim, den Judakönig, sollst du sprechen: So spricht der Herr: 'Du hast die Rolle verbrannt mit diesen Worten: "Was schriebst du da hinein: Ganz sicher kommt der Babelkönig, verheert das Land und tilgt daraus so Mensch wie Vieh?"'
And concerning Jehoiakim, king of Judah, thou shalt say, Thou hast burned this roll, saying, “Why hast thou written therein and said, The king of Babylon shall surely come and shall destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from it man and beast?”
30 Dafür spricht gegen Jojakim, den Judakönig, so der Herr: 'Nicht soll er einen Erben auf dem Throne Davids haben! Sein Leichnam soll bei Tag der Hitze, bei Nacht der Kälte preisgegeben sein!
Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim, king of Judah: He shall have not one to sit upon the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
31 Ich such an ihm und seinem Stamm und seinen Dienern ihre Sünde heim. Ich bringe über sie und die Bewohner von Jerusalem und alle Männer Judas all dies Unheil, das ich ihnen angedroht. Sie aber hören nicht darauf.'"
And I will punish him, and his offspring, and his servants, for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil which I have pronounced against them, and they have not hearkened.
32 Da nahm sich Jeremias eine andre Rolle und gab sie dem Neriasohn und Schreiber Baruch. Er schrieb darauf aus Jeremias' Munde den ganzen Inhalt jenes Buches, das ihm der Judakönig Jojakim verbrannt. Sie ward vermehrt mit vielen Reden gleicher Art.
Then Jeremiah took another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim had burned in the fire; and there were added to them many words of the same kind.
