Jeremia 27

1 Im vierten Jahre der Regierung des Judakönigs Sedekias, des Josiassohnes, erging das Wort des Herrn an Jeremias:

At the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD.

2 So sprach der Herr zu mir: "Verschaff dir Stricke und Jochhölzer und leg sie auf den Hals!

This is what the LORD said to me: “Make for yourself a yoke out of leather straps and put it on your neck.

3 Dann schicke etliche davon an Edoms und an Moabs König und an den Ammoniterkönig, an Sidons König und an den von Tyrus, durch Gesandte, die den Juda König Sedekias in Jerusalem besuchen!

Send word to the kings of Edom, Moab, Ammon, Tyre, and Sidon through the envoys who have come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.

4 Trag ihnen auf, daß ihren Herrn sie folgendes berichten: 'So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, Gott Israels: So sollt ihr euren Herren sagen:

Give them a message from the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, to relay to their masters:

5 "Ich schuf die Erde und die Menschen und das Vieh auf Erden durch meine große Kraft und schenkte sie an den, der mir gefiel.

By My great power and outstretched arm, I made the earth and the men and beasts on the face of it, and I give it to whom I please.

6 So schenk ich jetzt all diese Länder dem Babelkönig, Nebukadrezar, meinem Diener, und selbst das Wild des Feldes schenk ich ihm zu seinen Diensten. Die Völker sollen alle dienstbar sein

So now I have placed all these lands under the authority of My servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. I have even made the beasts of the field subject to him.

7 ihm, seinem Sohn und Enkel, bis auch die Zeit für sein Land kommt und starke Völker, große Könige ihn dienstbar machen.

All nations will serve him and his son and grandson, until the time of his own land comes; then many nations and great kings will enslave him.

8 Das Volk und Reich, das nicht dem Babelkönig Nebukadrezar dienen will und seinen Hals nicht in das Joch des Babelkönigs steckt, dies Volk bestrafe ich mit Schwert, mit Hunger und mit Pest", ein Spruch des Herrn, "bis ich's durch ihn vernichtet habe."

As for the nation or kingdom that does not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and does not place its neck under his yoke, I will punish that nation by sword and famine and plague, declares the LORD, until I have destroyed it by his hand.

9 Ihr aber, hört doch nicht auf eure Propheten, Wahrsager, Traumausleger, Zeichendeuter, Zauberer, die euch verkünden: 'Dient nicht dem Babelkönig!'

But as for you, do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your interpreters of dreams, your mediums, or your sorcerers who declare, ‘You will not serve the king of Babylon.’

10 Denn Lüge prophezeien sie; so kommt's dahin, daß sie um euer Land euch bringen, daß ich euch wegschleppe zu eurem Untergang.

For they prophesy to you a lie that will serve to remove you from your land; I will banish you and you will perish.

11 Das Volk indes, das seinen Hals ins Joch des Babelkönigs steckt zu seinem Dienst, das lasse ich in seinem Lande.' Ein Spruch des Herrn. 'Es soll das Land bebauen und bewohnen.'"

But the nation that will put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him, I will leave in its own land, to cultivate it and reside in it, declares the LORD.”

12 Das gleiche sagte ich zu Judas König Sedekias: "Ins Joch des Babelkönigs stecket eure Hälse! Ihm dient und seinem Volke! Darin bleibet ihr am Leben.

And to Zedekiah king of Judah I spoke the same message: “Put your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon; serve him and his people, and live!

13 Warum wollt ihr denn sterben, du und dein Volk, durch Schwert, durch Hunger und durch Pest? Hat solches doch der Herr dem Volke angedroht, das nicht dem Babelkönig dienen will.

Why should you and your people die by sword and famine and plague, as the LORD has decreed against any nation that does not serve the king of Babylon?

14 Hört nicht auf der Propheten Reden, die also zu euch sprechen: 'Ihr müßt dem Babelkönige nicht dienen'! Denn Lügen prophezein sie euch.

Do not listen to the words of the prophets who say, ‘You must not serve the king of Babylon,’ for they are prophesying to you a lie.

15 'Denn ich habe sie nicht gesandt', ein Spruch des Herrn, 'und Lügen prophezeien sie in meinem Namen, damit ich euch versprenge und die Seher, die euch prophezeien.'"

For I have not sent them, declares the LORD, and yet they are prophesying falsely in My name; therefore I will banish you, and you will perish—you and the prophets who prophesy to you.”

16 Den Priestern aber sagte ich sowie dem ganzen Volke: "So spricht der Herr: Auf eurer Seher Reden höret nicht, die so euch prophezeien: 'In aller Bälde werden die Geräte für das Haus des Herrn zurückgebracht aus Babel'. Nur Lüge prophezein sie euch.

Then I said to the priests and to all this people, “This is what the LORD says: Do not listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you, saying, ‘Look, very soon now the articles from the house of the LORD will be brought back from Babylon.’ They are prophesying to you a lie.

17 Hört nicht auf sie! Dem Babelkönig dienet! Dann bleibet ihr am Leben. Warum soll diese Stadt zur Wüste werden?

Do not listen to them. Serve the king of Babylon and live! Why should this city become a ruin?

18 Sind sie jedoch Propheten, steht ihnen zu Gebot das Wort des Herrn, dann mögen sie zum Herrn der Heeresscharen flehen, daß die Geräte, die im Haus des Herrn und in dem Haus des Judakönigs und in Jerusalem vorhanden, nicht nach Babel kommen.

If they are indeed prophets and the word of the LORD is with them, let them now plead with the LORD of Hosts that the articles remaining in the house of the LORD, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem, not be taken to Babylon.

19 Denn solches spricht der Herr der Heerscharen von Säulen, Meer und Stühlen, vom Reste der Geräte, die in dieser Stadt verbleiben,

For this is what the LORD of Hosts says about the pillars, the sea, the bases, and the rest of the articles that remain in this city,

20 und die der Babelkönig Nebukadrezar noch nicht weggeführt. Den Jojachin, den Sohn des Jojakim, den Herrscher über Juda, verschleppte er nach Babel aus Jerusalem, samt allen Edlen Judas und Jerusalems.

which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take when he carried Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon, along with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem.

21 So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, Gott Israels, jetzt über die im Haus des Herrn verbliebenen Geräte und über die im Haus des Königs über Juda und Jerusalem:

Yes, this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says about the articles that remain in the house of the LORD, in the palace of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem:

22 'Nach Babel werden sie gebracht. Dort bleiben sie bis zu dem Tag, da ich sie aufsuche', ein Spruch des Herrn, 'und wieder herfahre und sie an diesen Ort verbringe.'"

‘They will be carried to Babylon and will remain there until the day I attend to them again,’ declares the LORD. ‘Then I will bring them back and restore them to this place.’”
