Jesaja 1
1 Ein Gesicht des Amossohnes Isaias, der über Juda und Jerusalem Gesichte geschaut in den Tagen des Ozias, Jotam, Achaz und Ezechias, der Könige von Juda. -
The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
2 Lausch auf, o Himmel! Erde, horche auf! So spricht der Herr: "Ich ziehe Kinder groß und bringe sie empor; doch schlimm betragen sie sich gegen mich.
Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth, for Jehovah has spoken. I have nourished and brought up sons, and they have rebelled against me.
3 Ein Ochse kennt seinen Besitzer, ein Esel weiß die Krippe seines Herrn. Nur Israel kennt nichts; nur mein Volk will nichts kennenlernen." -
The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master's crib, but Israel does not know; my people does not consider.
4 Ein Wehe über eine sündhafte Nation, ein Volk, so reich an Schuld! Unartige Brut! Verderbte Kinder! Den Herrn verlassen sie; den Heiligen Israels mißachten sie, verachten ihn. -
Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, sons who deal corruptly! They have forsaken Jehovah. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They have gone away backward.
5 Worauf wollt ihr denn noch geschlagen werden? Wo denn noch weiter schwären? Das Haupt ist völlig krank, das Herz ganz elend. -
Why will ye still be stricken, that ye revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6 Kein heiler Fleck ist von der Sohle bis zum Kopfe, nur Beulen, Striemen, frische Wunden, nicht ausgedrückt und nicht verbunden und nicht mit Öl gekühlt. -
From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it, but wounds, and bruises, and fresh stripes. They have not been closed nor bound up nor soothed with oil.
7 Verwüstet wurde euer Land, und ausgebrannt sind eure Städte. Von eurem Fruchtgefilde nährten sich vor euren Augen Fremde. Verödet war's wie der Barbaren Felder.
Your country is desolate. Your cities are burned with fire. Your land-strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
8 So stand die Sionstochter ganz verlassen wie im Weinberg eine Hütte. Der Wächterhütte gleich im Gurkenfeld, so ganz einsam die Stadt.
And the daughter of Zion is left as a booth in a vineyard, as a shed in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
9 Ja, hätte uns der Heeresscharen Herr nicht einen Rest gelassen, so wären wir beinah wie Sodoma geworden und glichen jetzt Gomorrha.
Unless Jehovah of hosts had left to us a seed, we should have been as Sodom, we should have been like Gomorrah.
10 Ihr Sodomsfürsten, hört das Wort des Herrn! Horch auf die Mahnung unseres Gottes, du Gomorrhavolk! -
Hear the word of Jehovah, ye rulers of Sodom, give ear to the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
11 "Was soll mir", spricht der Herr, "die Menge eurer Schlachtopfer? Satt habe ich die Widderopfer und satt das Fett der Mastkälber. Ich mag nicht Farrenblut, nicht Blut der Lämmer und der Böcke.
What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices? says Jehovah. I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts. And I do not delight in the blood of bullocks or of lambs or of he-goats.
12 Wenn ihr mein Angesicht zu schauen kommt, ja, wer verlangt von euch, ihr sollet meine Vorhöfe zertrampeln?
When ye come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand-to trample my courts?
13 Bringt mir kein eitles Speiseopfer dar! Ein Greuelwerk ist es für mich. Am Neumond und am Sabbat Festversammlung! Ein Fest mit Frevel ist mir unerträglich.
Bring no more vain oblations. Incense is an abomination to me. New moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies-I cannot bear iniquity and the solemn meeting.
14 Ich hasse eure Neumondsfeste, eure Feiertage; sie sind mir eine Last, mir unausstehlich.
Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates. They are a trouble to me. I am weary of bearing them.
15 Wenn ihr die Hände ausbreitet, vor euch verhüll ich mir die Augen, und betet ihr auch noch so viel, ich höre nicht. Voll Blut sind eure Hände.
And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear; your hands are full of blood.
16 Wascht euch und macht euch rein! Hinweg aus meinen Augen mit eurer Werke Schlechtigkeit! Hört auf mit Freveltat. -
Wash you, make you clean, put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil.
17 Lernt Guttat! Suchet Recht! Die Schwachen stärkt! Verschafft den Waisen Recht! Für Witwen streitet!" -
Learn to do good. Seek justice, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18 "Herbei! Wir wollen uns vergleichen!" So spricht der Herr: "Sind eure Sünden scharlachrot, sie werden weiß wie Schnee, und sind sie purpurrot, sie werden sein wie weiße Wolle.
Come now, and let us reason together, says Jehovah, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 Vergönnt ihr mir ein williges Gehör, dann esset ihr des Landes Gut.
If ye are willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.
20 Doch wollt ihr nicht und trotzet ihr, dann werdet ihr vom Schwert verzehrt. Der Mund des Herrn hat es gesprochen."
But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword, for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken it.
21 Wie konnte nur zur Dirne werden die getreue Stadt, so voll des Rechts, darinnen die Gerechtigkeit zu Hause war, jetzt aber Mörder. -
How the faithful city has become a harlot! She who was full of justice! Righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers.
22 Dein Silber ward zur Schlacke; dein Trunk verwässert.
Thy silver has become dross, thy wine mixed with water.
23 Abtrünnige sind deine Fürsten, Diebsgesellen, verliebt ist alles in Bestechung und auf der Jagd nach Entgelt. Den Waisen schaffen sie nicht Recht; der Witwen Klagen dringen nicht vor sie.
Thy rulers are rebellious, and companions of thieves. Everyone loves bribes, and follows after rewards. They judge not the fatherless, nor does the cause of the widow come to them.
24 Deshalb, so lautet jetzt ein Spruch des Herrn der Heeresscharen, des Starken Israels: - "Ein Wehe, wenn ich meine Gegner rüge und mich an meinen Feinden räche!
Therefore says the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of my adversaries, and avenge me of my enemies.
25 Mit dir befasse ich mich gründlich und schmelze deine Schlacken wie mit Lauge aus, entferne alle deine Bleiklumpen.
And I will turn my hand upon thee, and thoroughly purge away thy dross, and will take away all thy tin.
26 Dann gebe ich dir wieder Richter wie zu Anbeginn, Berater wie am Anfang. Dann nennt man dich 'Gerechte Stadt', 'Getreue Bürgerschaft'."
And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counselors as at the beginning. Afterward thou shall be called the city of righteousness, a faithful town.
27 Allein durch Rechtlichkeit ist Sion noch zu retten, die sich darin bekehren, durch Gerechtigkeit.
Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her converts with righteousness.
28 Vernichtung aber trifft die Abgefallenen, die Sünder allzumal! Ausrottung jene, die den Herrn verlassen! -
But the destruction of transgressors and sinners shall be together, and those who forsake Jehovah shall be consumed.
29 Zuschanden werden sie der Terebinthen wegen, die euch bezaubern, erröten ob der Haine, nach denen ihr so giert,
For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.
30 wenn ihr entlaubten Terebinthen gleicht und einem Garten ohne Wasser. -
For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fades, and as a garden that has no water.
31 Der Starke wird zu Werg, sein Werk zum Funken, und beide brennen miteinander, niemand löscht.
And the strong man shall be as flax, and his work as a spark. And they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.
