Jesaja 60
1 Auf! Werde Licht! Dein Licht will kommen; die Herrlichkeit des Herrn strahlt über dir.
Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of Yahweh has risen on you.
2 Denn Finsternis bedeckt die Erde und Wolkendunkel die Nationen. Doch über dir erstrahlt der Herr, und über dir strahlt seine Herrlichkeit.
Though darkness will cover the earth, and thick darkness the nations; yet Yahweh will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen on you.
3 Bei deinem Lichte wandeln Heidenvölker und Könige im Glanze deines Strahlens.
Nations will come to your light, and kings to your bright light that is rising.
4 Auf, erhebe deine Augen! Schau ringsumher! Sie alle sammeln sich und kommen zu dir her. Aus weiter Ferne kommen deine Söhne, und deine Töchter werden auf der Hüfte hergetragen.
Look all around and see. They all gather themselves together and come to you. Your sons will come from far, and your daughters will be carried in their arms.
5 Du siehst es und erstrahlst; dein Herz erbebt und regt sich freudig; denn plötzlich strömt zu dir des Meeres Reichtum und kommen zu dir her der Heidenvölker Schätze.
Then you will look and be radiant, and your heart shall rejoice and overflow, because the abundance of the sea will be poured out to you, the wealth of the nations will come to you.
6 Dann deckt dich der Kamele Schwall, von Midian und Epha junge Tiere. Von Saba kommen sie zuhauf und tragen Gold und Weihrauch her und künden froh des Herren Ruhmestaten.
Camel caravans will cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all of them will come from Sheba; they will bring gold and frankincense, and will sing the praises of Yahweh.
7 Dir werden alle Schafe Kedars zugetrieben, und Nabatäas Widder stehen dir zu Diensten. Auf meinen Altar kommen sie zum Wohlgefallen, und also schmücke ich mein herrlich Haus. -
All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth will serve your needs; they will be acceptable offerings on my altar; and I will glorify my glorious house.
8 Wer sind doch jene, die herbei wie Wolken fliegen, wie Tauben schnell zu ihren Schlägen?
Who are these who fly along like a cloud, and like the doves to their shelters?
9 Die Küstenländer mühen sich für mich, voran die Tarsisschiffe, und bringen aus der Ferne deine Söhne heim, - mit ihnen auch ihr Silber und ihr Gold, zu Ehren deines Herrn und Gottes, des Heiligen Israels, der dich verherrlicht.
The coastlands look for me, and the ships of Tarshish lead, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of Yahweh your God, and for the Holy One of Israel, because he has honored you.
10 Und deine Mauern bauen Ausländer, und ihre Könige bedienen dich. Ich habe dich in meinem Groll geschlagen; nun tue ich dir wieder wohl in meiner Liebe.
Sons of foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you; though in my wrath I punished you, yet in my favor I will have compassion on you.
11 Beständig stehen deine Tore offen, unverschlossen Tag und Nacht, daß man der Heiden Reichtum bei dir einführe mit ihren Königen, umgeben von Geleiten.
Your gates also will remain open continually; they will not be shut day or night, so that the wealth of the nations may be brought, with their kings being led.
12 Denn Volk und Reich, das dir nicht dienen will, wird untergehn, und Heidenvölker werden völlig ausgerottet.
Indeed, nations and kingdoms that will not serve you will perish; those nations will be completely destroyed.
13 Die Pracht des Libanon kommt zu dir her, Zypressen, Fichten, Ulmen allzumal, um meine heilige Stätte auszuschmücken und meiner Füße Schemel zu verherrlichen.
The glory of Lebanon will come to you, the cypress tree, the fir, and the cypress box tree together, to beautify my sanctuary; and I will glorify the place of my feet.
14 Dir nahen sich, gebückt, die Söhne deiner Unterdrücker und werfen sich zu deinen Füßen nieder, sie alle, die dich einst verhöhnt. Sie heißen dich "Die heilige Stadt des Herrn", "Sion des Heiligen Israels".
They will come to you to bow down, the sons of those who humbled you; they will bow at your feet; they will call you The City of Yahweh, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
15 Wie du verlassen warst, gehaßt und unbesucht, so mache ich dich jetzt zum ewigen Stolz, zur Wonne kommender Geschlechter.
Instead of you remaining abandoned and hated, with no one passing through you, I will make you a thing of pride forever, a joy from generation to generation.
16 Du trinkst der Heidenvölker Milch und nährst dich gar an königlicher Brust. Du sollst erfahren, daß ich, der Herr, dein Helfer bin und dein Befreier Jakobs Held.
You will also drink the milk of the nations, and will nurse at the breast of kings; you will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
17 An Erzes Statt will ich dir Gold bescheren und statt des Eisens Silber, Erz statt der Hölzer, statt der Steine Eisen. Ich setze als Regierung dir den Frieden ein, als deinen Obern die Gerechtigkeit.
Instead of bronze I will bring gold, instead of iron I will bring silver; instead of wood, bronze, and instead of stones, iron. I will appoint peace as your governors, and justice your rulers.
18 Nicht weiter hört man von Gewalt in deinem Land, in deinen Grenzen nichts von Druck und Drangsal; du heißest deine Mauern "Sieg" und deine Tore "Ruhm".
Violence will no longer be heard in your land, or devastation nor shattering within your borders; but you will call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.
19 Zum Tageslichte dient dir nicht die Sonne; noch braucht des Mondes Schimmer dir zu leuchten. Ein ewig Licht ist dir der Herr, dein Gott dein Strahlenkranz.
The sun will no longer be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you; but Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and your God your glory.
20 Nie mehr geht deine Sonne unter; dein Mond verschwindet nicht. Ein ewig Licht ist dir der Herr; denn deine Trauertage sind vorbei.
Your sun will no longer set, nor will your moon withdraw and disappear; for Yahweh will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will be ended.
21 Dein Volk - nur Fromme! Auf ewig werden sie das Land besitzen, als Sprößlinge von mir gepflanzt, als meiner Hände ehrenvolles Werk.
All your people will be righteous; they will take possession of the land for all time, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
22 Der Kleinste wird zu einer Tausendschaft, zum starken Volke der Geringste. Ich bin der Herr, und ich beschleunige es plötzlich.
The little one shall become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation; I, Yahweh, will swiftly accomplish these things when the time comes.
