Jesaja 41
1 "Hört still mir zu, ihr Inseln! Und stärken sollen sich Nationen und dann zur Unterredung kommen! Zum Entscheid wollen wir zusammentreten.
Keep silence before me, islands; and let the peoples renew [their] strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us draw near together to judgment.
2 Wer ruft von Osten her den Falken, der auf dem Fuß ihm folgt? Wer gibt ihm Heidenvölker preis und treibt die Könige in Flucht, und wessen Schwert jagt sie wie Staub davon, und wessen Bogen wie verwehte Spreu?
Who raised up from the east him whom righteousness calleth to its foot? He gave the nations before him, and caused him to have dominion over kings; he gave them as dust to his sword, as driven stubble to his bow.
3 Und er verfolgt sie, sicher wandelnd, auch auf Pfaden, die noch nie sein Fuß betreten.
He pursued them, he passed on in safety, by a way he had never come with his feet.
4 Wer wirkt und waltet es? Ich, der von Anfang an ruft die Geschlechter. Ich, der Herr, der Erste und bei den Letzten noch derselbe."
Who hath wrought and done [it], calling the generations from the beginning? I, Jehovah, the first; and with the last, I [am] HE.
5 Voll Furcht vernehmen es die Inseln; die Erdenenden beben. Sie kommen näher her.
The isles saw [it], and feared; the ends of the earth trembled: they drew near, and came.
6 Und einer sucht dem anderen zu helfen und ruft ihm zu: "Nur Mut!"
They helped every one his neighbour, and [each] said to his brother, Take courage.
7 Der Schnitzer muntert einen Goldschmied auf; der mit dem Hammer schafft, den Blasbalgtreter, der von der Lötung sagt: "Die ist jetzt gut", und es mit Nägeln dann befestigt, damit's nicht wackle. -
And the artizan encouraged the founder, he that smootheth [with] the hammer him that smiteth on the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good; and he fasteneth it with nails, that it be not moved.
8 "Du aber, Israel, mein Knecht, du Jakob, den ich auserkoren, du Sproß von meinem Freunde Abraham!
But thou, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham, my friend
9 Du, den ich vor den Vornehmsten der Welt erwählt, vor ihren Edelsten berufen habe! Ich sage dir: 'Mein Knecht bist du; dich habe ich erkoren und nicht abgelehnt.'
— thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from the extremities thereof, and to whom I said, Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee and not rejected thee,
10 Sei ohne Furcht! Ich bin mit dir. Sei ohne Angst! Ich bin dein Gott. Ich stärke dich; ich helfe dir und stütze dich mit meiner sieggewohnten Rechten.
— Fear not, for I [am] with thee; be not dismayed, for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
11 Mit Schimpf und Schande wird bedeckt, wer dich beschimpft. Vernichtet wird und untergeht, wer mit dir streitet.
Lo, all that are incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded; they that strive with thee shall be as nothing, and shall perish.
12 Du suchst alsdann und findest sie nicht mehr, die mit dir streiten. Vernichtet werden und vergehn, die dich bekriegen.
Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them — them that contend with thee; they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
13 Denn ich, der Herr, ich bin dein Gott, der deine rechte Hand ergreift, der zu dir spricht: 'Sei ohne Furcht! Ich bin es, der dir hilft.'
For I, Jehovah, thy God, hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
14 Sei ohne Furcht, mein Würmlein Jakob! Ihr armen Männer Israels! Ich bin es, der ihm hilft." Ein Spruch des Herrn. "Ja, dein Erlöser ist der Heilige Israels.
Fear not, thou worm Jacob, ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith Jehovah, and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
15 Ich mache dich zu einem Dreschschlitten, so scharf und neu, mit vielen Schneiden. Du wirst die Berge dreschen und zermalmen und Hügel wie in Spreu verwandeln.
Behold, I have made of thee a new sharp threshing instrument having double teeth: thou shalt thresh and beat small the mountains, and shalt make the hills as chaff;
16 Du worfelst sie; der Wind trägt sie hinweg, der Sturm reibt sie zu Staub. Du jubelst dann über den Herrn und rühmest dich des Heiligen Israels.
thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them; and thou shalt rejoice in Jehovah, thou shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17 Die Elenden und Armen suchen Wasser; doch keins ist da. Vor Durst ist ihre Zunge ausgetrocknet. Doch ich, der Herr, bekümmere mich um sie; ja ich, der Schutzgott Israels, verlasse nimmer sie.
The afflicted and the needy seek water, and there is none; their tongue faileth for thirst: I, Jehovah, will answer them, [I], the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
18 Ich lasse Ströme fließen auf den kahlen Höhen und Quellen mitten in den Gründen. Zu Wasserteichen mache ich die Wüsten und dürres Land zu Wassersprudeln;
I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness into a pool of water, and the dry land into water-springs.
19 ich lasse in der Wüste Zedern und Akazien und Myrten und Oliven wachsen und pflanze in die Steppe ein Zypressen, Ulmen, Fichten allzumal.
I will give in the wilderness the cedar, acacia, myrtle, and oleaster; I will set in the desert the cypress, pine, and box-tree together;
20 Sie sollen sehen und erkennen, drauf achten und sich merken, daß dies die Hand des Herrn getan, daß dies der Heilige des Herrn getan, daß dies der Heilige Israels geschaffen."
that they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of Jehovah hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
21 "Bringt eure Sache vor!" So spricht der Herr. "Legt vor eure Beweise!" So spricht der König Jakobs.
Produce your cause, saith Jehovah; bring forward your arguments, saith the King of Jacob.
22 "Sie mögen nähertreten und uns künden, was sich ereignen wird! Was war es mit dem Früheren? So sagt es, daß wir es vermerken und uns erkundigen nach dem Eintritt! Oder macht uns doch die Zukunft kund!
Let them bring them forward, and declare to us what shall happen: shew the former things, what they are, that we may give attention to them, and know the end of them; — or let us hear things to come:
23 Ja, kündet uns die Zeichen schon im voraus an! Dann werden wir es anerkennen, daß in der Tat ihr Götter seid, und daß ihr nützen könnt und schaden. Dann wollen wir uns alle voller Staunen fürchten.
declare the things that are to happen hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods; yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be astonished, and behold it together.
24 Ihr seid ja weniger als nichts, und euer Tun ist weniger als null. Abscheulich ist, wer euch erwählt.
Behold, ye are less than nothing, and your work is of nought; an abomination is he that chooseth you. ...
25 Von Norden ruf ich, und er kommt; vom Sonnenaufgang den, der meinen Namen ruft, und in Satrapen tritt er wie in Lehm, so wie ein Töpfer stampft den Ton.
I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come, — from the rising of the sun, he who will call upon my name; and he shall come upon princes as on mortar, and as the potter treadeth clay.
26 Wer zeigte solches schon zum voraus an, daß wir's erfahren hätten, im voraus, daß wir hätten sagen können: 'Richtig!'? Doch keiner hat je so etwas verkündet, und keiner solches kundgetan. Kein Mensch bekommt von euch ein Wort zu hören.
Who hath declared [it] from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, [It is] right? Indeed, there is none that declareth; no, none that sheweth; no, none that heareth your words.
27 Nur ich bestelle Boten für Sion als Erster - sie sind, fürwahr, schon da - und Freudenboten für Jerusalem.
The first, [I said] to Zion, Behold, behold them! and to Jerusalem, I will give one that bringeth glad tidings.
28 Ich schaue rings umher, und keiner tritt hervor. Von ihnen zeigt sich keiner als Berater, daß ich sie bitten könnte, mir Auskunft zu erteilen. -
And I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, — and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word.
29 Seht! Nichtig sind sie alle und nichtig ist ihr Tun, und ihre Bilder, die gegossenen, sind Tand und leerer Schein."
Behold, they are all vanity, their works are nought, their molten images are wind and emptiness.
