Jesaja 3
1 Ja sieh! Der Herr, der Heeresscharen Herr, nimmt aus Jerusalem und Juda den Stab und Stock hinweg, jedwedes Stärkungsbrot, jedwedes Labewasser:
For, behold, the Master, YHWH of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,
2 die Ritter, Krieger, Richter und Propheten, Wahrsager, Älteste,
The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
3 Anführer, Angesehene, Ratsherren, Baukundige und Redefertige. -
The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counseller, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.
4 "Ich aber gebe Knaben ihnen zu Beamten, und Kinder sollen ihrer walten. -
And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
5 In harten Druck gerät das, Volk, der eine durch den anderen, der Nachbar durch den Nachbarn. Frech fährt den Greis der Knabe an, der Niedere den Angesehenen." -
And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
6 Wenn einer seinen Blutsverwandten anhält mit den Worten: "Du hast noch ein Stück Tuch. Werd unser Oberhaupt, und untertan sein diese Trümmer dir!",
When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
7 so ruft er laut an jenem Tage - "Ich kann nicht Helfer sein. In meinem Hause gibt es weder Brot noch Tuch. Bestellt mich nicht zum Oberhaupt des Volkes!" -
In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
8 Jerusalem zerfällt in Trümmer, und Juda stürzt; denn ihre Reden, ihre Taten sind dem Herrn zuwider und reizen seine Hoheit. -
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against YHWH, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
9 Parteilichkeit zeugt wider sie. Von ihren Sünden sprechen sie wie Sodom unverhohlen. Ein Wehe über sie! Sie tun sich selber Böses an.
The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
10 Bedenket, daß die Frommen Gutes, daß ihrer Taten Früchte sie genießen!
Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Doch wehe über einen Frevler! Ihm wird Schlimmes, ihm wird jetzt seiner Taten Lohn zuteil. -
Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
12 Mein Volk! Sein Herrscher ist ein Kind, und Weiber walten seiner. Mein Volk! Verführer sind die Führer dein, verwirrend deiner Wege Lauf.
As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
13 Der Herr tritt auf, um Recht zu schaffen; er steht, das Volk zu richten, da.
YHWH standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.
14 So geht der Herr denn ins Gericht mit seines Volkes Ältesten und Amtspersonen: - "Ihr habt den Weinberg abgeweidet. In euren Häusern ist geraubtes Armengut.
YHWH will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.
15 Was fällt euch ein, mein Volk zu treten, der Armen Antlitz zu zermalmen?" - Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn der Heeresscharen.
What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Master YHWH of hosts.
16 So spricht der Herr: - "Weil Sions Töchter hochgetragen tun, gereckten Halses gehn und freche Blicke werfen und tänzelnd trippeln, mit den Füßen klirren, -
Moreover YHWH saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
17 so macht der Herr der Sionstöchter Scheitel kahl; der Herr macht sie ganz bloß." -
Therefore YHWH will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and YHWH will discover their secret parts.
18 An jenem Tage nimmt der Herr hinweg die wunderbaren die Schleier, Fußspangen, Stirnbänder, Halbmonde,
In that day YHWH will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
19 Ohrtropfen, Armketten, die Schleier,
The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
20 Kopfbinden, die Schrittkettchen und Schleifen, Riechfläschchen, Amulette,
The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
21 Fingerringe, Stirnreifen,
The rings, and nose jewels,
22 die Feierkleider, Mäntel, Überwürfe, Taschen,
The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
23 die Spiegel und die Linnentücher, Turbane samt den Schleiern.
The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
24 Anstatt des Balsams gibt es Moderduft und statt des Gürtels einen Strick und statt des Lockenwerkes kahle Köpfe, anstatt des Prunkgewandes Sackumgürtung, Brandmale statt der Schönheitsmittel.
And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
25 So fallen deine Schwächlinge durchs Schwert und deine gute Mannschaft in dem Kampf. -
Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
26 Und seine Tore seufzen trauernd; am Boden sitzt es, ausgeplündert.
And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
