Jesaja 2
1 Der Dinge Zustand, den Isaias, des Amos Sohn, in Juda und Jerusalem geschaut:
This is what Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2 In ferner Zukunft wird der Berg, auf dem das Haus des Herrn gebaut ist, an der Spitze aller Berge stehen; er übertrifft die andern Hügel, und alle Heidenvölker strömen freudig zu ihm hin.
It shall happen in the latter days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be raised above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it.
3 Und große Völker kommen, also sprechend: "Auf! Wallen wir zum Berg des Herrn, zum Haus des Jakobsgottes! Belehre er uns über seine Wege! Auf seinen Pfaden laßt uns wandeln." Weit über Sion geht die Lehre dann hinaus, und aus Jerusalem das Wort des Herrn.
And many peoples shall come and say, "Come, let's go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths." For out of Zion the law shall go forth, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4 Und bei den Heiden hält das Jakobshaus Gericht und spricht bei großen Völkern Recht. Zu Pflügen schmieden sie die Schwerter, zu Winzermessern ihre Lanzen. Kein Heidenvolk zückt gegen andere das Schwert; das Kriegshandwerk hat keine Schüler mehr. -
He will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
5 O Jakobshaus! Auf! Wandeln wir im Licht des Herrn.
House of Jacob, come, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
6 Du hast, fürwahr, dein Volk, du Jakobshaus, darniedersinken lassen. Denn voll sind sie von Geistersehern und von Gauklern, wie die Philister, und ihr Ergötzen haben sie an fremden Kindern. -
For you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled from the east, with those who practice divination like the Philistines, and they clasp hands with the children of foreigners.
7 Sein Land ist angefüllt von Silber und von Gold, kein Ende seiner Schätze. Sein Land von Rossen voll, kein Ende seiner Wagen!
Their land is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures. Their land also is full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots.
8 Sein Land ist voller Götzen. Man betet an das Machwerk seiner Hände, das ihre Finger selbst gemacht.
Their land also is full of idols. They worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.
9 Die Menschen beugen sich; es beugen sich die Leute tief davor. - Verzeih es ihnen nicht!
So people bow down, people are low, therefore do not lift them up.
10 Sie sollen auf die Felsen klettern und sich im Staub verkriechen vor dem Schrecken des Herrn, vor seiner hoheitsvollen Herrscherwürde!
Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty.
11 Dann sinkt der Menschen stolzer Blick; der Leute Hochmut wird erniedrigt. Erhaben ist allein der Herr an jenem Tage.
The proud looks of humankind will be brought low, and the arrogance of people will be brought down; and the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.
12 Der Herr der Heeresscharen hat einen Tag bestimmt für jeden Stolzen, Hohen, für jeden Hocherhabenen und Wohlbestellten.
For there will be a day of the LORD of hosts for all that is proud and haughty, and for all that is lifted up and high; and it shall be brought low:
13 Für alle Zedern Libanons, die hohen und die stolzen, für alle Basanseichen,
For all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, for all the oaks of Bashan,
14 für alle hohen Berge, für alle Hügel, die hochragenden,
For all the high mountains, for all the hills that are lifted up,
15 für jeden hohen Turm, für jede feste Mauer,
For every lofty tower, for every fortified wall,
16 für alle Tarsisschiffe und alle andern Schiffe in der Welt.
For all the ships of Tarshish, and for all pleasant imagery.
17 Da wird der Menschen Stolz gebeugt; der Leute Hochmut wird erniedrigt. Erhaben ist allein der Herr an jenem Tage.
The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
18 Fort müssen alle Götzen.
The idols shall utterly pass away.
19 In Felsenhöhlen kriechen sie und in der Erde Löcher vor des Herren Schrecken, vor seiner hoheitsvollen Herrscherwürde, erhebt er sich, der Erde Schrecken einzuflößen. -
Men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily.
20 An jenem Tage schleudert jeder fort die silbernen und goldnen Götzen, die er zur Anbetung gefertigt, in die Löcher der Ratten und der Fledermäuse.
In that day, people will cast away their idols of silver and their idols of gold to the rodents and to the bats, which have been made for themselves to worship;
21 In Bergesklüfte, Felsenrisse verkriechen sie sich vor des Herrn Schrecken, vor seiner hoheitsvollen Herrscherwürde, erhebt er sich, der Erde Schrecken einzuflößen. -
to go into the caverns of the rocks, and into the clefts of the ragged rocks, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily.
22 Sagt euch deswegen von den Menschen los, in deren Nase nur ein Hauch! Wofür sind sie zu achten?
Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what account is he?
