1 Mose 6
1 Als die Menschen angefangen hatten, sich auf dem Erdboden zu mehren, waren ihnen Töchter geboren worden.
People started to increase in number and spread out across the earth. Daughters were born to them,
2 Da sahen die Göttersöhne, daß die Menschentöchter schön waren, und sie nahmen sich zu Weibern, soviel sie wollten.
and the sons of God saw that these women were beautiful, and they took whichever ones they wanted.
3 Da sprach der Herr: "Mein Geist verbleibe nimmer länger bei den Menschen! Er ist ja nur mehr Fleisch! Nur noch auf 120 Jahre sollen seine Tage sich belaufen!"
Then the Lord said, “My life-giving Spirit will not remain in these people forever, because they are only mortal. The time they have left will be 120 years.”
4 In jenen Zeiten waren die Riesen auf Erden gewesen, zumal damals, als die Göttersöhne mit den Menschentöchtern verkehrten und diese ihnen Kinder gebaren. Jenes sind die Recken der Urzeit, die Männer von Namen.
There were giants on earth in those days, and also later on. They were born after the sons of God slept with the daughters of these people. Their sons became the great warriors and famous men of ancient times.
5 Da sah der Herr, daß die Bosheit der Menschen auf Erden groß ward und alles Dichten und Trachten ihres Herzen allezeit böse.
The Lord saw how terribly evil people on earth had become—every single thought in their minds was evil all the time!
6 Da reute es den Herrn, daß er die Menschen auf Erden gemacht, und er ward tief bekümmert.
The Lord was sorry he'd made human beings to live on the earth; it made him very sad to think about it.
7 Darauf sprach der Herr: "Vertilgen von der Erde werde ich die Menschen, die ich erschaffen habe, vom Menschen bis zum Vieh, bis zum Gewürm und zu des Himmels Vögeln; denn ich bereue, sie gemacht zu haben."
So the Lord said, “I'm going to wipe out these people I created from the earth, and not only them but also the animals, the creatures that run along the ground, and the birds, because I'm sorry I made them.”
8 Noe aber hatte Huld in des Herrn Augen gefunden.
But the Lord was pleased with Noah.
9 Dies ist Noes Geschlechterfolge: Noe war ein gerechter, unsträflicher Mann unter seinen Zeitgenossen gewesen. Noe wandelte mit Gott.
This is the story of Noah and his family. Noah was a man of integrity, living a moral life among the people of his time. He had a close relationship with God.
10 Und Noe zeugte drei Söhne: Sem, Cham und Japhet.
Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
11 Die Erde aber war vor Gottes Angesicht verderbt, und die Erde füllte sich mit Frevel.
God saw how corrupt the whole world had become, full of violent and lawless people.
12 Und Gott sah, wie die Erde verderbt war; denn jedes Fleischwesen hatte seinen Wandel auf Erden verderbt.
God recognized that the corruption in the world was due to everyone on earth living corrupt lives.
13 Da sprach Gott zu Noe. "Das Ende jedes Fleischwesens ist von mir verhängt; die Erde ist ja voller Frevel, die sie tun. Und so verderbe ich sie samt der Erde.
So God told Noah, “I have decided to put an end to all people on earth because they are all violent and lawless. I myself am going to destroy all of them, along with the earth.
14 Mach eine Arche dir aus Fichtenholz! Und zu Behausungen sollst du die Arche einbauen! Und dann verpiche sie mit Harz von außen und von innen!
Build an ark out of cypress wood. Make rooms inside the ark, and coat it with tar, both inside and out.
15 Also sollst du sie machen: 300 Ellen sei der Arche Länge und 50 Ellen ihre Breite und 30 Ellen ihre Höhe!
This is how to build it: the ark is to measure 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high.
16 Und an der Arche sollst du eine Luke machen und bis auf eine Elle sie ganz oben anbringen, alsdann der Arche Tor in eine ihrer Längsseiten einsetzen und sie in untere und mittlere und obere Stockwerke einteilen!
Make a roof for the ark, leaving a cubit-wide opening between the roof and the top of the sides. Put a door in the side of the ark, and construct three decks inside.
17 Ich lasse jetzt die Wasserflut auf Erden kommen, um alles Fleisch, das unterm Himmel, zu vertilgen, darinnen Lebensodem ist. So möge alles, was auf Erden, sterben!
I myself am going to flood the earth with water that will destroy everything that breathes, Every living thing everywhere on earth will die.
18 Mit dir nun treffe ich mein Abkommen, und so gehst du samt deinen Söhnen, deinem Weibe und deinen Schwiegertöchtern in die Arche.
But I will keep my agreement with you. You are to go into the ark, taking with you your wife and your sons and their wives.
19 Von allem Lebenden, von jedem Fleischeswesen, sollst du je ein Paar mit in die Arche bringen, um sie bei dir am Leben zu erhalten! Nur je ein Männchen und ein Weibchen soll es sein.
Take a pair, male and female, of every kind of animal into the ark and make sure you keep them alive.
20 So von den Vögeln je nach ihrer Art, vom Vieh nach seiner Art, von allem, was auf Erden kriecht, nach seiner Art. Davon soll immer je ein Pärchen zu dir kommen, daß sie am Leben bleiben!
The same applies to every kind of bird, livestock, and the creatures that run along the ground—a pair of every kind will come to you so they can be kept alive.
21 Du selbst beschaffe dir von jeglicher eßbaren Speise, und speichere solches bei dir auf! Zur Nahrung dient es alsdann dir und ihnen."
Take all kinds of food with you too. Store it so you and the animals will have enough to eat.”
22 Und Noe tat so. Ganz so, wie ihm Gott befohlen hatte, tat er.
Noah did exactly what God ordered him to do.
