1 Mose 48

1 Nach diesen Begebnissen ward Joseph gemeldet: "Dein Vater ist erkrankt." Da nahm er seine beiden Söhne mit, Manasse und Ephraim.

Againe after this, one sayd to Ioseph, Loe, thy father is sicke: then hee tooke with him his two sonnes, Manasseh and Ephraim.

2 Man meldete es Jakob und sprach. "Da kommt dein Sohn Joseph zu dir." Da nahm Israel seine Kräfte zusammen und setzte sich aufrecht im Bett.

Also one told Iaakob, and said, Behold, thy sonne Ioseph is come to thee, and Israel tooke his strength vnto him and sate vpon the bed.

3 Und Jakob sprach zu Joseph: "Gott, der Allmächtige, ist mir zu Luz im Lande Kanaan erschienen, hat mich gesegnet und zu mir gesprochen:

Then Iaakob sayde vnto Ioseph, God almightie appeared vnto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me.

4 'Ich lasse fruchtbar dich und zahlreich werden und mache dich zu einer Völkermenge und gebe dieses Land deinem Stamme nach dir zum ewigen Besitz.'

And he sayde vnto me, Behold, I wil make thee fruitefull, and will multiplie thee, and will make a great number of people of thee, and will giue this lande vnto thy seede after thee for an euerlasting possession.

5 Nun sollen mir deine beiden Söhne gehören, die dir im Ägypterland geboren worden, bevor ich zu dir nach Ägypten kam! Ephraim und Manasse seien mein wie Ruben und Simeon!

And now thy two sonnes, Manasseh and Ephraim, which are borne vnto thee in the lande of Egypt, before I came to thee into Egypt, shall be mine, as Reuben and Simeon are mine.

6 Aber die Kinder, die du nach ihnen gezeugt, seien dein! Auf ihrer Brüder Namen seien sie zu ihrem Erbteil berufen!

But the linage, which thou hast begotten after them, shalbe thine: they shall be called after the names of their brethren in their inheritance.

7 Als ich aus Paddan kam, starb mir deine Mutter Rachel im Lande Kanaan unterwegs, nur noch eine Strecke Wegs bis Ephrat. Dort begrub ich sie am Wege nach Ephrat, das ist Bethlehem."

Nowe when I came from Padan, Rahel died vpon mine hande in the lande of Canaan, by the way when there was but halfe a dayes iourney of grounde to come to Ephrath: and I buryed her there in the way to Ephrath: the same is Beth-lehem.

8 Als Israel die Söhne Josephs sah, sprach er: "Wer sind die?"

Then Israel beheld Iosephs sonnes and sayd, Whose are these?

9 Da sprach Joseph zu seinem Vater: "Dies sind meine Söhne, die Gott mir hier geschenkt hat." Er sprach: "Bring sie zu mir her, daß ich sie segne!"

And Ioseph sayd vnto his father, They are my sonnes, which God hath giuen mee here. Then he sayd, I pray thee, bring them to me, that I may blesse them:

10 Israels Augen nämlich waren stumpf geworden vor Alter, daß er nicht mehr sehen konnte. Da führte er sie zu ihm, und er küßte sie und herzte sie.

(For the eyes of Israel were dimme for age, so that hee coulde not well see) Then he caused them to come to him, and he kissed them and embraced them.

11 Und Israel sprach zu Joseph: "Ich hätte nimmermehr geglaubt, dich wiederzusehen. Nun hat mich Gott selbst deinen Stamm noch sehen lassen."

And Israel sayde vnto Ioseph, I had not thought to haue seene thy face: yet lo, God hath shewed me also thy seede.

12 Da nahm sie Joseph von seinen Knien und verneigte sich bis auf den Boden vor ihm.

And Ioseph tooke them away from his knees, and did reuerence downe to the ground.

13 Dann nahm Joseph die beiden, Ephraim an seine Rechte, links von Israel, und Manasse an seine Linke, rechts von Israel, und führte sie zu ihm.

Then tooke Ioseph them both, Ephraim in his right hand towarde Israels left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israels right hand, so he brought them vnto him.

14 Da streckte Israel seine Rechte aus und legte sie auf Ephraims Haupt, obschon er der Jüngere war, und seine Linke auf das Haupt Manasses, seine Hände kreuzend, obschon Manasse der Erstgeborene war.

But Israel stretched out his right hand, and layde it on Ephraims head, which was the yonger, and his left hande vpon Manassehs head (directing his handes of purpose) for Manasseh was the elder.

15 Dann segnete er Joseph und sprach: "Der Gott, vor dem einst meine Väter Abraham und Isaak sind gewandelt, der Gott, der ist mein Hirte, seit ich bin gewesen, bis auf diesen Tag,

Also he blessed Ioseph and sayde, The God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Izhak did walke, the God, which hath fed me al my life long vnto this day, blesse thee.

16 der Engel, der von jedem Übel mich erlöst, er segne diese Knaben! In ihnen lebe fort mein Name und meiner Väter Abraham und Isaak Name fort und fort! Sie sollen sich auf Erden mehren und wachsen!"

The Angel, which hath deliuered me from all euill, blesse the children, and let my name be named vpon them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Izhak, that they may growe as fish into a multitude in the middes of the earth.

17 Als aber Joseph sah, daß sein Vater seine Rechte auf Ephraims Haupt legte, mißfiel ihm dies, und er griff nach seines Vaters Hand, um sie von Ephraims Haupt auf das Haupt Manasses zu legen.

But when Ioseph sawe that his father layde his right hande vpon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he stayed his fathers hand to remooue it from Ephraims head to Manassehs head.

18 Und Joseph sprach zu seinem Vater: "Nicht so! Mein Vater! Ist dieser doch der Erstgeborene. Lege deine Hand auf sein Haupt!"

And Ioseph sayde vnto his father, Not so, my father, for this is the eldest: put thy right hand vpon his head.

19 Sein Vater aber weigerte sich und sprach: "Ich weiß, mein Sohn; ich weiß. Auch er wird ein Volk; auch er wird mächtig. Jedoch sein jüngerer Bruder wird mächtiger als er. Sein Stamm wird zur Völkerfülle werden."

But his father refused, and sayd, I know well, my sonne, I know well: he shalbe also a people, and he shalbe great likewise: but his yonger brother shalbe greater then he, and his seede shall be full of nations.

20 So segnete er sie an jenem Tage und sprach: "Mit dir soll Israel segnen, also sprechend: 'Gott mache dich wie Ephraim und wie Manasse!'" So setzte er Ephraim vor Manasse.

So he blessed them that day, and sayde, In thee Israel shall blesse, and say, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh. and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

21 Dann sprach Israel zu Joseph: "Siehe! Ich sterbe. Doch Gott ist mit euch, und so führt er euch heim in eurer Väter Land.

Then Israel said vnto Ioseph, Behold, I die, and God shall be with you, and bring you againe vnto the land of your fathers.

22 Ich aber gebe dir vor deinen Brüdern Sichem, jenes einzige Stück, das ich den Amoritern einst mit meinem Schwert und Bogen abgenommen habe."

Moreouer, I haue giuen vnto thee one portion aboue thy brethren, which I gate out of the hand of the Amorite by my sworde and by my bowe.
