1 Mose 45
1 Da konnte Joseph nicht länger an sich halten, trotz allen Umstehenden. Er rief: "Schafft jedermann von mir hinaus!" Und so war niemand bei ihm, als sich Joseph seinen Brüdern zu erkennen gab.
Then Joseph could not control himself before all the servants who stood by him. He said loudly, “Everyone must leave me.” So no servant stood by him when Joseph made himself known to his brothers.
2 Er brach in lautes Weinen aus, daß es einige Ägypter hörten; auch Pharaos Haus vernahm davon.
He wept loudly, the Egyptians heard it, and the house of Pharaoh heard of it.
3 Dann sprach Joseph zu seinen Brüdern: "Ich bin Joseph. Lebt mein Vater noch?" Da konnten ihm seine Brüder keine Antwort geben; so bestürzt standen sie vor ihm.
Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph. Is my father still alive?” His brothers could not answer him, for they were shocked in his presence.
4 Da sprach Joseph zu seinen Brüdern: "Tretet zu mir her!" Und sie traten näher. Er sprach: "Ich bin euer Bruder Joseph, den ihr nach Ägypten verkauft habt.
Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come near to me, please.” They came near. He said, “I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.
5 Nun aber grämt euch nicht! Nicht dünke es euch peinlich, daß ihr mich hierher verkauft habt! Denn zur Erhaltung eures Lebens hat mich Gott euch vorausgesandt.
Do not be grieved or angry with yourselves that you sold me here, for God sent me ahead of you to preserve life.
6 Zwei Jahre schon ist der Hunger im Lande, noch aber kommen fünf Jahre, wo nicht Pflügen noch Ernten ist.
For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvest.
7 So hat mich Gott euch vorausgesandt, euch eine Zuflucht auf Erden zu schaffen, euch am Leben zu erhalten in wunderbarer Rettung.
God sent me ahead of you to preserve you as a remnant in the earth, and to keep you alive by a great deliverance.
8 Somit habt nicht ihr mich hierhergesandt, sondern Gott. Er machte mich für Pharao zu einem Vater, zum Herrn für sein ganzes Haus und zum Gebieter über ganz Ägypterland.
So now it was not you who sent me here but God, and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, master of all his house, and ruler of all the land of Egypt.
9 Zieht eilends zu meinem Vater hinauf! Dann sageet ihm: 'So spricht dein Sohn Joseph: Gott hat mich zum Herrn über ganz Ägypten gesetzt. Komm herab zu mir und säume nicht!
Hurry and go up to my father and say to him, 'This is what your son Joseph says, “God has made me master of all Egypt. Come down to me, do not delay.
10 Dann läßt du dich im Lande Gosen nieder und bleibst in meiner Nähe, du, deine Söhne, deine Enkel, deine Schafe, deine Rinder und alles, was dein ist!
You will live in the land of Goshen, and you will be near me, you and your children and your children's children, and your flocks and your herds, and all that you have.
11 Und ich versorge dich dort; denn noch fünf Jahre währt der Hunger, daß du nicht verkümmerst mit deinem Haus und allem, was dein ist.'
I will provide for you there, for there are still five years of famine, so that you do not come to poverty, you, your household, and all that you have.”'
12 Ihr seht es mit eigenen Augen, auch mein Bruder Benjamin, daß ich es bin, der zu euch spricht.
Look, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaks to you.
13 Dann meldet meinem Vater all meine Ehre in Ägypten und alles, was ihr geschaut! Dann bringt ihr eilends meinen Vater hierher."
You will tell my father about all my honor in Egypt and of all that you have seen. You will hurry and bring my father down here.”
14 Und er fiel seinem Bruder Benjamin um den Hals und weinte; auch Benjamin weinte an seinem Hals.
He hugged his brother Benjamin's neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck.
15 Dann küßte er all seine Brüder und weinte an ihnen. Nun erst konnten seine Brüder mit ihm sprechen.
He kissed all his brothers and wept over them. After that his brothers talked with him.
16 Und die Kunde drang in Pharaos Haus, indem man sprach: "Josephs Brüder sind gekommen." Und Pharao mit seinen Dienern war darüber erfreut.
The news of the matter was told in Pharaoh's house: “Joseph's brothers have come.” It pleased Pharaoh and his servants very much.
17 Pharao sprach zu Joseph: "Sag deinen Brüdern: 'Tut also! Beladet eure Lasttiere und zieht ins Land Kanaan!
Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Say to your brothers, 'Do this: Load your animals and go to the land of Canaan.
18 Holt euren Vater sowie eure Familie und kommt zu mir! Ich gebe euch, was das Ägypterland Gutes bietet, und von des Landes Wohlstand sollt ihr genießen.'
Get your father and your households and come to me. I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land.'
19 So bist du ermächtigt: 'Tut also! Nehmt aus Ägypterland euch Wagen für eure Kinder und Weiber mit! Dann laßt ihr euren Vater aufsteigen und kommt her.
Now you are commanded, 'Do this, take carts out of the land of Egypt for your children and for your wives. Get your father and come.
20 Laßt's euch nicht leid sein um euren Hausrat! Denn was das ganze Land Ägypten Gutes bietet, soll euer Sein.'"
Do not be concerned about your possessions, for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.'”
21 Die Söhne Israels taten so. Und Joseph gab ihnen Wagen nach Pharaos Geheiß. Auch gab er ihnen Zehrung auf die Reise mit.
The sons of Israel did so. Joseph gave them carts, according to the command of Pharaoh, and gave them provisions for the journey.
22 Allen aber, Mann für Mann, hatte er ein Ehrenkleid geschenkt; dem Benjamin aber hatte er 300 Silberlinge und fünf Ehrenkleider gegeben.
To all of them he gave each man changes of clothing, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothing.
23 Ebenso sandte er seinem Vater zehn Esel, beladen mit Ägyptens bestem Gut, sowie zehn Eselinnen, beladen mit Korn, Brot und Reisekost für seinen Vater.
For his father he sent this: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt; and ten female donkeys loaded with grain, bread, and other supplies for his father for the journey.
24 Dann entließ er seine Brüder, und sie zogen fort. Er sagte noch zu ihnen: "Säumt euch nicht auf dem Wege!"
So he sent his brothers away and they left. He said to them, “See that you do not quarrel on the journey.”
25 So zogen sie aus Ägypten hinauf und kamen ins Land Kanaan zu ihrem Vater Jakob.
They went up out of Egypt and came to the land of Canaan, to Jacob their father.
26 Und sie berichteten ihm: "Joseph lebt noch. Ja, er waltet über ganz Ägypterland." Da erstarrte sein Herz; denn er glaubte ihnen nicht.
They told him saying “Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt.” His heart was astonished, for he could not believe what they told him.
27 Sie aber berichteten ihm alle Worte Josephs, die er an sie gerichtet. Er sah die Wagen, die Joseph gesandt, ihn hinzubringen. Da lebte der Geist ihres Vaters Jakob auf.
They told him all the words of Joseph that he had said to them. When Jacob saw the carts that Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived.
28 Und Israel sprach: "Genug! Mein Sohn Joseph lebt noch. Ich gehe hin und will ihn sehen, bevor ich sterbe."
Israel said, “It is enough. Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”
