1 Mose 36

1 Das ist die Geschlechterfolge Esaus, das ist Edoms:

Now these, are the generations of Esau the same, is Edom.

2 Esau nahm seine Weiber aus den Töchtern Kanaans: Ada, die Tochter des Chittiters Elon, und Oholibama, die Tochter Anas, der Tochter des Choriters Sibon,

Esau, took his wives of the daughters of Canaan, —Even Adah, daughter of Elon, the Hittite, And Oholibamah daughter of Anah, son of Zibeon, the Hivite;

3 und Basemat, die Tochter Ismaels und Schwester Nebajots.

And Basemath daughter of Ishmael sister of Nebaioth.

4 Ada gebar dem Esau den Eliphaz; Basemat aber hatte den Reguel geboren

So Adah bare to Esau, Eliphaz, and, Basemath, bare Reuel;

5 und Oholibama den Jëus, Jalam und Korach. Dies sind die Esausöhne, die im Lande Kanaan geboren sind.

and Oholibamah, bare Jeush and Jalam and Korah. These, are the sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.

6 Esau nahm seine Weiber, Söhne und Töchter, überhaupt alle Seelen seines Hauses und seine Herde, all sein Vieh und seine ganze Habe, die er sich im Lande Kanaan erworben hatte, und zog in ein anderes Land, fort von seinem Bruder Jakob.

Then took Esau his wives, and his sons, and his daughters and all the souls of his house, and his herds and all his beasts, and all his possessions whatsoever he had gathered in the land of Canaan, —and went into a land, away from the face of Jacob his brother,

7 Denn ihr Besitz war zu groß geworden zum Beisammenbleiben, und das Land, in dem sie als Gäste weilten, hatte wegen ihrer Herden für sie nicht ausgereicht.

For their substance had become too great for them to dwell together, —neither could the land of their sojournings sustain them, because of their herds,

8 So ließ sich Esau auf dem Gebirge Seïr nieder: Esau ist Edom.

So Esau dwelt in Mount Seir, Esau, is Edom.

9 Das ist die Geschlechterfolge Esaus, des Vaters von Edom, auf dem Gebirge Seïr.

And, these, are the generations of Esau father of Edom, —in Mount Seir.

10 Dies sind die Namen der Söhne Esaus: Eliphaz, der Sohn der Ada, des Weibes Esaus, und Reguel, der Sohn der Basemat, des Weibes Esaus.

These, are the name of the sons of Esau, —Eliphaz son of Adah wife of Esau, Reuel son of Basemath wife of Esau.

11 Die Söhne des Eliphaz waren Teman, Omar, Sepho, Gatam und Kenaz.

Then came the sons of Eliphaz to be, —Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.

12 Timna aber war ein Nebenweib des Esausohnes Eliphaz, und sie gebar dem Eliphaz den Amalek. Dies sind die Söhne der Ada, des Weibes Esaus.

Now, Timna, became the concubine of Eliphaz son of Esau, and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek. These, are the sons of Adah, wife of Esau.

13 Und dies sind die Söhne Reguels. Nachat, Zerach, Samma und Mizza. Dies waren die Söhne der Basemat, des Weibes Esaus.

And, these, are the sons of Reuel, Nahath and Zerah Shammah and Mizzah, —These were the sons of Basemath wife of Esau.

14 Und dies waren die Söhne der Oholibama, der Tochter Anas, der Tochter Sibons und des Weibes Esaus: Sie gebar dem Esau den Jëus, den Jalam und den Korach.

And, these, were the sons of Oholibamah daughter of Anah, son of Zibeon, wife of—Esau, —she bare to Esau Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.

15 Dies sind die Häuptlinge der Söhne Esaus. Die Söhne des Erstgeborenen Esaus, Eliphaz, waren der Häuptling Teman, der Häuptling Omar, der Häuptling Sepho und der Häuptling Kenaz,

These, are the chiefs of the sons of Esau: —The sons of Eliphaz, firstborn of Esau, —Chief Teman, chief Omar, chief Zepho, chief Kenaz,

16 der Häuptling Korach, der Häuptling Gatam und der Häuptling Amalek. Dies sind die Häuptlinge des Eliphaz im Lande Edom; dies sind die Söhne der Ada.

chief Korah, chief Gatam, chief Amalek. These are the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom, these, the sons of Adah.

17 Und dies sind die Söhne des Esausohnes Reguel: der Häuptling Nachat, der Häuptling Zerach, der Häuptling Samma und der Häuptling Mizza; dies sind die Häuptlinge Reguels im Lande Edom; dies sind die Söhne Basemats, des Weibes Esaus.

And these, are the sons of Reuel, son of Esau—Chief Nahath, chief Zerah, chief Shammah, chief Mizzah, —These are the chiefs of Reuel, in the land of Edom, these, the sons of Basemath wife of Esau.

18 Und dies sind die Söhne der Oholibama, des Weibes Esaus: der Häuptling Jëus, der Häuptling Jalam und der Häuptling Korach; dies sind die Häuptlinge der Oholibama, der Tochter Anas und des Weibes Esaus.

And these, are the sons of Oholibamah wife of Esau, Chief Jeush chief Jalam, chief Korah, —These are the chiefs of Oholibamah daughter of Anah wife of Esau.

19 Dies sind die Söhne Esaus und dies ihre Häuptlinge: das ist Edom.

These, are the sons of Esau, and, these, their chiefs—the same, is Edom.

20 Dies sind die Söhne des Choriters Seïr, die Einwohner des Landes: Lotan, Sobal, Sibon und Ana,

These, are the sons of Seir, the Horite, who were dwelling in the land, —Lotan and Shobal and Zibeon and Anah;

21 Dison, Eser und Disan; dies sind die Häuptlinge der Choriter, der Söhne Seïrs im Lande Edom.

and Dishon and Ezer and Dishan, —These, are the chiefs of the Horites the sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.

22 Die Söhne Lotans waren Chori und Hemam, und Lotans Schwester war Timna.

Then came the sons of Lotan to be, Hori and Hemam, —And, the sister of Lotan was Timna.

23 Und dies sind die Söhne Sobals: Alwan, Manachat, Ebal, Sepho und Onam.

And, these, are the sons of Shobal, Alvan and Manahath, and Ebal, —Shepho, and Onam.

24 Und dies sind die Söhne Sibons: Ajja und Ana; das ist der Ana, der die Ungeheuer in der Wüste angetroffen hat, als er seinem Vater Sibon die Esel weidete.

And, these, are the sons of Zibeon: Both Aiah and Anah, —The same, is the Anah that found the warm springs in the desert, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.

And these are the sons of Anah Dishon, —and Oholibamah, is daughter of Anah.

26 Und dies sind die Söhne des Disan, Chemdan, Esban, Jitran und Keran.

And, these, are the sons of Dishon, —Hemdan and Eshban, and Ithran and Cheran.

27 Dies sind die Söhne des Eser: Bilhan, Zaawan und Akan.

These, are the sons of Ezer, —Bilhan and Zaavan, and Akan.

28 Dies sind die Söhne Disans: Uz und Aram.

These, are the sons of Dishan, —Uz and Aran.

29 Dies sind die Häuptlinge der Choriter: der Häuptling Lotan, der Häuptling Sobal, der Häuptling Sibon und der Häuptling Ana,

These, are the chiefs of the Horites, —Chief Lotan, chief Shobal, chief Zibeon, chief Anah;

30 der Häuptling Dison, der Häuptling Eser, der Häuptling Disan; dies sind die Häuptlinge der Choriter nach ihren Geschlechtern im Lande Seïr.

chief Dishon, chief Ezer, chief Dishan. These, are the chiefs of the Horites, after their chiefs in the land of Seir.

31 Dies sind die Könige, die im Lande Edom geherrscht haben, bevor ein König über Israels Söhne herrschte.

And, these, are the kings, who reigned in the land of Edom, —before there reigned a king of the sons of Israel:

32 König über Edom war Bela, Beors Sohn, und seine Stadt hieß Dinhaba.

There reigned in Edom, Bela, son of Beor, —and the name of his city, was Dinhabah.

33 Als Bela starb, ward an seiner Statt König Jobab, Zerachs Sohn, aus Bosra.

Then died Bela, —and there reigned in his stead, Jobab son of Zerah, from Bozrah.

34 Als Jobab starb, ward an seiner Statt König Chusam aus dem Land der Temaniter.

Then died Jobab, —and there reigned in his stead, Husham, from the land of the Temanites.

35 Als Chusam starb, ward an seiner Statt König Bedads Sohn Hadad, der die Midianiter auf Moabs Gefilden schlug, und seine Stadt hieß Awit.

Then died Husham, —and there reigned in his stead, Hadad, son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, and, the name of his city, was Avith.

36 Als Hadad starb, ward an seiner Statt Samla aus Masreka König.

Then died Hadad, —and there reigned in his stead, Samlah from Masrekah.

37 Als Samla starb, ward an seiner Statt Saul aus Nechobot am Strome König.

Then died Samlah, —and there reigned in his stead, Shaul, from Rohoboth of the River.

38 Als Saul starb, ward an seiner Statt Baalchanan aus Akbor König.

Then died Shaul, —and there reigned in his stead, Baal-hanan, son of Achbor.

39 Als Baalchanan aus Akbor starb, ward an seiner Statt Hadad König, und seine Stadt hieß Pau und sein Weib Mehetabel, die Tochter Matreds, der Tochter von Mezahab.

Then died Baal-hanan son of Achbor, and there reigned in his stead Hadar, and the name of his city, was Pau, —and, the name of his wife, Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-zahab.

40 Dies sind die Namen der Häuptlinge Esaus nach ihren Geschlechtern, ihren Ortschaften und Namen: der Häuptling Timna, der Häuptling Alwa, der Häuptling Jetet,

These then are the names of the chiefs of Esau after their families, after their places by their names, —Chief Timnah, chief Alvah chief Jetheth;

41 der Häuptling Oholibama, der Häuptling Ela, der Häuptling Pinon,

chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon;

42 der Häuptling Kenaz, der Häuptling Teman, der Häuptling Mibsar,

chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar;

43 der Häuptling Magdiel und der Häuptling Iram. Dies sind die Häuptlinge Edoms nach ihren Wohnsitzen in ihrem besetzten Gebiet. Das ist Esau, der Vater Edoms.

chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These, are the chiefs of Edom—after their dwellings in the land of their possession, the same, is Esau, father of Edom.
