1 Mose 25

1 Abraham aber nahm nochmals ein Weib, namens Ketura.

Nowe Abraham had taken him another wife called Keturah,

2 Und sie gebar ihm Zimran, Joksan, Medan, Midian, Isbak und Suach.

Which bare him Zimran, and Iokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

3 Joksan aber hatte Seba und Dedan gezeugt, und Dedans Söhne wurden zu Asuritern, Letusitern und Lëumitern.

And Iokshan begate Sheba, and Dedan: And the sonnes of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.

4 Und Midians Söhne sind Epha, Epher, Chanok, Abida und Eldaa; all dies sind Söhne der Ketura.

Also the sonnes of Midian were Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah all these were the sonnes of Keturah.

5 Dann übergab Abraham all sein Eigentum dem Isaak.

And Abraham gaue all his goods to Izhak,

6 Den Nebenweibersöhnen aber, die Abraham besaß, hatte Abraham Geschenke gegeben; er ließ sie zugunsten seines Sohnes Isaak, noch bei seinen Lebzeiten, ostwärts ins Ostland ziehen.

But vnto the sonnes of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gaue giftes, and sent them away from Izhak his sonne (while he yet liued) Eastward to the East countrey.

7 Dies ist der Lebensjahre Abrahams Dauer, die er durchlebte, 175 Jahre.

And this is the age of Abrahams life, which he liued, an hundreth seuentie and fiue yeere.

8 Und Abraham verschied und starb in schönem Alter, alt und lebenssatt, und ward zu seinen Stammesgenossen versammelt.

Then Abraham yeelded the spirit, and died in a good age, an olde man, and of great yeeres, and was gathered to his people.

9 Ihn begruben seine Söhne Isaak und Ismael in der Höhle der Makpela, auf des Chittiters Ephrons, des Socharsohnes, Feld, Mamre gegenüber,

And his sonnes, Izhak and Ishmael buryed him in the caue of Machpelah, in the fielde of Ephron sonne of Zohar the Hittite, before Mamre.

10 auf dem Feld, das Abraham von Chets Söhnen gekauft. Dort waren Abraham und sein Weib Sara begraben worden.

Which fielde Abraham bought of the Hittites, where Abraham was buryed with Sarah his wife.

11 Nach Abrahams Tode segnete Gott seinen Sohn Isaak; Isaak aber wohnte bei dem Brunnen Lachaj Roi.

And after the death of Abraham God blessed Izhak his sonne, and Izhak dwelt by Beer-lahai-roi.

12 Dies ist die Geschlechterfolge des Abrahamsohnes Ismael den die Ägypterin Hagar, Saras Magd, dem Abraham geboren hat.

Nowe these are the generations of Ishmael Abrahams sonne, whome Hagar the Egyptian Sarahs handmayde bare vnto Abraham.

13 Dies sind die Namen der Söhne Ismaels nach ihren Namen und ihrem Stammbaum: Ismaels Erstgeborener Nebajot, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

And these are the names of the sonnes of Ishmael, name by name, according to their kinreds; the eldest sonne of Ishmael was Nebaioth, then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

14 Misma, Duma, Massa,

And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

15 Chadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphis und Kedma.

Hadar, and Tema, Ietur, Naphish, and Kedemah.

16 Dies sind die Söhne Ismaels und dies ihre Namen nach ihren Gehöften und Zeltlagern, zwölf Fürsten nach ihren Stammverbänden.

These are the sonnes of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their townes and by their castles: to wit, twelue princes of their nations.

17 Und dies war Ismaels Lebensdauer: 137 Jahre; da verschied er. Er starb und ward zu seinen Stammesgenossen versammelt.

(And these are the yeeres of the life of Ishmael, an hundreth thirtie and seuen yeere, and he yeelded the spirit, and dyed, and was gathered vnto his people)

18 Sie lagerten von Chavila bis Schur, östlich von Ägypten und bis gen Assur hin. Er fiel zu Lebzeiten all seiner Brüder.

And they dwelt from Hauilah vnto Shur, that is towardes Egypt, as thou goest to Asshur. Ishmael dwelt in the presence of all his brethren.

19 Dies ist die Geschlechterfolge des Abrahamsohnes Isaak: Abraham hat Isaak gezeugt.

Likewise these are the generations of Izhak Abrahams sonne Abraham begate Izhak,

20 Isaak aber war 40 Jahre alt, als er sich Rebekka, des Aramäers Betuel Tochter, aus Paddan Aram, die Schwester des Aramäers Laban, zum Weibe nahm.

And Izhak was fourtie yeere olde, when he tooke Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramite of Padan Aram, and sister to Laban the Aramite.

21 Isaak aber flehte zum Herrn für sein Weib, weil es unfruchtbar war. Und der Herr ließ sich von ihm erbitten, und so ward sein Weib Rebekka guter Hoffnung.

And Izhak prayed vuto the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceiued,

22 Aber die Kinder rannten einander in ihrem Leibe an. Da sprach sie: "Steht's so, warum trifft es gerade mich?" Und sie ging den Herrn befragen.

But the children stroue together within her: therefore shee sayde, Seeing it is so, why am I thus? wherefore she went to aske the Lord.

23 Da sprach der Herr zu ihr: "Zwei Völker sind in deinem Leibe, und zwei Stämme scheiden sich aus deinem Schoße. Ein Stamm beherrscht den anderen; lang wird der jüngere dienstbar sein."

And the Lord sayd to her, Two nations are in thy wombe, and two maner of people shalbe diuided out of thy bowels, and the one people shall be mightier then the other, and the elder shall serue the yonger.

24 Als ihre Zeit kam zum Gebären, da waren Zwillinge in ihrem Leib.

Therefore when her time of deliuerance was fulfilled, behold, twinnes were in her wombe.

25 Der erste, rötlich, kam wie ein haariger Mantel hervor, und man nannte ihn Esau.

So he that came out first was red, and he was all ouer as a rough garment, and they called his name Esau.

26 Danach kam sein Bruder hervor, und er hielt mit seiner Hand die Ferse Esaus. So nannte man ihn Jakob. Isaak aber war 60 Jahre alt, als sie geboren wurden.

And afterward came his brother out, and his hande helde Esau by the heele: therefore his name was called Iaakob. Nowe Izhak was threescore yeere olde when Rebekah bare them.

27 Die Knaben wuchsen nun heran. Esau ward ein tüchtiger Jäger, ein Mann der Steppe; Jakob aber war ein schlichter Mann, der bei den Zelten blieb.

And the boyes grew, and Esau was a cunning hunter, and liued in the fields: but Iaakob was a plaine man, and dwelt in tentes.

28 Isaak aber liebte Esau; denn er sprach gern von der Jagd. Rebekka aber liebte Jakob.

And Izhak loued Esau, for venison was his meate, but Rebekah loued Iaakob.

29 Einst kochte Jakob ein Gericht; da kam Esau ganz erschöpft aus der Steppe.

Nowe Iaakob sod pottage, and Esau came from the fielde and was wearie.

30 Und Esau sprach zu Jakob: "Laß mich doch eilends von dieser roten Zukost genießen! Denn ich bin erschöpft." Deshalb nannte man ihn Edom.

Then Esau sayd to Iaakob, Let me eate, I pray thee, of that pottage so red, for I am wearie. Therefore was his name called Edom.

31 Da sprach Jakob: "Verkaufe mir zuvor dein Erstgeburtsrecht!"

And Iaakob sayd, Sell me euen nowe thy birthright.

32 Esau sprach: "Ich muß sonst sterben. Was nützt mir da die Erstgeburt?"

And Esau sayd, Lo, I am almost dead, what is then this birthright to me?

33 Jakob sprach: "Schwöre mir zuvor!" Da schwur er ihm und verkaufte sein Erstgeburtsrecht an Jakob.

Iaakob then said, Sweare to me euen now. And he sware to him, and solde his birthright vnto Iaakob.

34 Jakob aber gab Esau Brot und das Linsengericht. Da aß er und trank, stand auf und ging von hinnen. So verscherzte Esau das Erstgeburtsrecht.

Then Iaakob gaue Esau bread and pottage of lentiles: and he did eate and drinke, and rose vp, and went his way: So Esau contemned his birthright.
