1 Mose 22
1 Nach diesen Begebnissen war es; da versuchte Gott den Abraham. Er sprach zu ihm: "Abraham!" Er sprach: "Hier bin ich."
After these things, God tested Abraham [Father of a multitude], and said to him, “Abraham [Father of a multitude]!” He said, “Here I am.”
2 Da sprach er: "Nimm deinen einzigen Sohn, den du so liebst, den Isaak, und zieh ins Morialand und bring ihn zum Brandopfer dort dar, auf einem jener Berge, den ich dir bezeichnen werde!"
He said, “Now take your son, your only son, whom you 'ahavta ·affectionately love·, even Isaac [Laughter], and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.”
3 Da sattelte Abraham frühmorgens seinen Esel, nahm seine beiden Diener samt seinem Sohne Isaak mit, spaltete Holzscheite zum Brandopfer, brach auf und zog nach der Stätte, von der ihm Gott gesprochen.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac [Laughter] his son. He split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him.
4 Am dritten Tage erhob Abraham seine Augen; da sah er von weitem die Stätte.
On the third day Abraham [Father of a multitude] lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far off.
5 Da sprach Abraham zu seinen Dienern: "Bleibt mit dem Esel hier! Ich aber und der Knabe wollen dorthin gehen, anzubeten. Wir kommen dann wieder zu euch."
Abraham [Father of a multitude] said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I will go yonder. We will hawa ·bow low, prostrate· in worship, and come back to you.”
6 Und Abraham nahm das Opferholz und legte es seinem Sohne Isaak auf; er aber nahm Feuer und Messer mit. So zogen sie beide zusammen dahin.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac [Laughter] his son. He took in his hand the fire and the knife. They both went together.
7 Da sprach Isaak zu seinem Vater Abraham; er sprach: "Mein Vater!" Er sprach: "Mein Sohn, hier bin ich." Er sprach: "Da ist Feuer und Holz. Aber wo ist das Schaf zum Opfer?"
Isaac [Laughter] spoke to Abraham [Father of a multitude] his father, and said, “My father?” He said, “Here I am, my son.” He said, “Here is the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”
8 Da sprach Abraham: "Gott ersieht sich schon das Schaf zum Opfer, mein Sohn." So zogen sie beide zusammen dahin.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] said, “God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they both went together.
9 Und sie kamen zu dem Ort, von dem ihm Gott gesprochen. Dort baute Abraham einen Altar und schichtete das Holz. Dann band er seinen Sohn Isaak und legte ihn auf den Altar auf das Holz.
They came to the place which God had told him of. Abraham [Father of a multitude] built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, bound Isaac [Laughter] his son, and laid him on the altar, on the wood.
10 Dann streckte Abraham seine Hand aus und griff nach dem Messer, um seinen Sohn zu schlachten.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] stretched out his hand, and took the knife to kill his son.
11 Da rief ihm der Engel des Herrn vom Himmel her und sprach: "Abraham! Abraham!" Er sprach: "Hier bin ich."
Ha mal'ak Yahweh [The Angel of He sustains breathing] called to him out of the sky, and said, “Abraham, Abraham! [Father of a multitude, Father of a multitude]!” He said, “Here I am.”
12 Er sprach: "Leg deine Hand nicht an den Knaben! Tu ihm nichts! Jetzt weiß ich: Du bist gottesfürchtig; du verweigerst mir ja selbst deinen einzigen Sohn nicht."
He said, “Don’t lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”
13 Und Abraham erhob seine Augen und sah hin; da hatte sich hinter ihm ein Widder mit den Hörnern im Dickicht verfangen. Abraham ging hin, nahm den Widder und brachte ihn an seines Sohnes Statt zum Opfer dar.
Abraham [Father of a multitude] lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Abraham [Father of a multitude] went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
14 Und Abraham nannte diesen Ort: "Der Herr sorgt", so wie man noch sagt: "Auf dem Berg des Herrn ist man versorgt."
Abraham [Father of a multitude] called the name of that place Yahweh Yeer'eh [Yahweh will be seen / He sustains breathing will provide]. As it is said to this day, “On Adonai’s mountain, it will be provided.”
15 Und des Herrn Engel rief Abraham ein zweitesmal vom Himmel her
Ha mal'ak Yahweh [The Angel of He sustains breathing] called to Abraham [Father of a multitude] a second time out of the sky,
16 und sprach: "Ich leiste bei mir selber einen Schwur" - ein Spruch des Herrn -: "Weil du dies getan und deinen einzigen Sohn mir nicht verweigert,
and said, “I have sworn by myself, says Adonai, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son,
17 so gebe ich dir meinen Segen und mache deinen Stamm so zahlreich wie des Himmels Sterne und wie den Sand am Meeresufer. Dein Stamm soll seiner Feinde Tor erobern!
I will bless you greatly, and I will multiply your offspring greatly like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gate of his enemies.
18 Der Erde Völker alle sollen sich mit deinem Stamme segnen zum Lohn dafür, daß du auf meine Stimme hast gehört."
By your offspring, all the nations of the earth will be blessed because you have sh'ma ·heard obeyed· my voice.”
19 Und Abraham kehrte zu seinen Dienern zurück; sie brachen auf und zogen miteinander nach Beerseba. Und Abraham blieb in Beerseba wohnen.
So Abraham [Father of a multitude] returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Be'er-Sheva [Well of Seven, Well of an Oath]. Abraham [Father of a multitude] lived at Be'er-Sheva [Well of Seven, Well of an Oath].
20 Nach diesen Begebnissen geschah es, daß man Abraham meldete: "Auch Milka hat deinem Bruder Nachor Söhne geboren:
After these things, Abraham [Father of a multitude] was told, “Behold, Milcah, she also has borne children to your brother Nahor:
21 Uz, seinen Erstgeborenen, und seinen Bruder Buz und Kemuel, den Vater Arams,
Uz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram [Elevated],
22 und Kesed, Chazo, Pildas, Jidlaph sowie Betuel."
Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.”
23 Betuel aber hatte Rebekka gezeugt. Diese acht hatte Milka dem Nachor, Abrahams Bruder, geboren.
Bethuel became the father of Rebekah [Securely bound]. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham [Father of a multitude]’s brother.
24 Er hatte auch ein Nebenweib namens Rëuma; sie gebar Tebach, Gacham, Tachas und Maaka.
His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.
