1 Mose 12
1 Und der Herr sprach zu Abram: "Aus deinem Lande, deiner Sippe zieh fort, aus deinem Vaterhause, ins Land, das ich dir zeigen werde!
Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and out of thy birthplace, and from thy father's house, unto the land that I will show thee.
2 ich mache dich zu einem großen Volke und segne dich und mache deinen Namen hochberühmt, daß du zum Segen werdest.
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 Denn segnen will ich, die dich segnen, und die verfluchen, die dich lästern. Der Erde Stämme alle sollen sich mit dir dann segnen!"
And I will bless those that bless thee, and him that curseth thee, will I curse; and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 Und Abram zog fort, wie ihm der Herr gesagt, und mit ihm zog Lot; Abram aber war 75 Jahre alt, als er von Charan fortzog.
So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him, and Lot went with him; and Abram was seventy and five years old at his departure out of Charan.
5 Und Abram nahm sein Weib Sarai und seinen Brudersohn Lot und all ihre Habe, die sie erworben, sowie die Seelen, die sie in Charan bekommen hatten, und sie zogen fort, ins Land Kanaan zu wandern, und sie kamen auch in das Land Kanaan.
And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had acquired, and the persons that they had obtained in Charan; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and they came into the land of Canaan.
6 Und Abram durchzog das Land bis zu Sichems Wohnsitz, bis zum Maulbeerbaum; damals aber waren die Kanaaniter im Land.
And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Shechem, unto the plain of Moreh; and the Canaanite was then in the land.
7 Da erschien der Herr dem Abram und sprach: "Ich gebe deinem Stamme dieses Land." Da baute er dort einen Altar dem Herrn, der ihm erschienen war.
And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land. And he built there an altar unto the Lord, who had appeared unto him.
8 Von dort zog er auf das Gebirge östlich von Betel und schlug sein Zelt auf, Betel im Westen und Ai im Osten. Dort baute er dem Herrn einen Altar und rief des Herrn Namen an.
And he removed from there unto the mountain on the east of Beth-el, and pitched his tent, having Beth-el on the west, and 'Ai on the east; and he built there an altar unto the Lord, and called upon the name of the Lord.
9 Dann zog Abram weiter und weiter, dem Südland zu.
And Abram journeyed farther, still going on toward the south.
10 Nun kam die Hungersnot ins Land, und Abram zog nach Ägypten, hier zu verbleiben; denn schwer lag die Hungersnot auf dem Land.
And there arose a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.
11 Als er nahe bei Ägypten war, sprach er zu seinem Weib Sarai: "Ich weiß wohl, daß du ein schönes Weib bist.
And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a woman of handsome appearance:
12 Sehen dich nun die Ägypter, dann denken sie: Dies ist sein Weib, und alsdann töten sie mich; dich aber werden sie am Leben lassen.
And it may come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they will say, This is his wife; and they may kill me, but thee they will save alive.
13 Sag doch, du seiest meine Schwester, daß es mir um deinetwillen gut gehe. Dann bleibe ich deinetwegen ungefährdet."
Say then, I pray thee, thou art my sister, that it may go well with me for thy sake, and my soul live because of thee.
14 Als Abram nach Ägypten kam, sahen die Ägypter, daß das Weib überaus schön war.
And it came to pass, when Abram was come into Egypt, that the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.
15 Auch des Pharao Fürsten sahen sie und rühmten sie vor Pharao. So ward das Weib in Pharaos Haus geholt.
The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her to Pharaoh; and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.
16 Dem Abram aber war er ihretwegen hold geworden; und so bekam er Schafe, Rinder, Esel, Sklaven, Mägde, Eselinnen und Kamele.
And he did well to Abram for her sake; and he received sheep, and oxen, and he-asses, and men-servants, and maid-servants, and she-asses, and camels.
17 Der Herr aber schlug mit schweren Plagen Pharao und sein Haus wegen Sarai, des Weibes Abrams.
But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.
18 Da ließ Pharao den Abram rufen und sprach: "Was hast du mir da angetan? Warum hast du mir verhehlt, daß sie dein Weib ist?
And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this thou hast done unto me? Why didst thou not tell me that she is thy wife?
19 Warum hast du gesagt: 'Sie ist nur meine Schwester'? Und so nahm ich sie mir zum Weib. Nun aber sieh, hier ist dein Weib! Nimm sie und geh fort!"
Why saidst thou, She is my sister? and so I took her to me for a wife; now, therefore, behold, here is thy wife, take her, and go thy way.
20 Und Pharao entbot seinetwegen Leute, daß sie ihn, sein Weib und all seine Habe fortschafften.
And Pharaoh commanded some men concerning him, who accompanied him and his wife, and all that he had.
