Hesekiel 5

1 "Du Menschensohn! Nimm dir ein scharfes Schwert! Gebrauch's als Schermesser! Und führ es über Kopf und Bart! Dann nimm dir eine Waage zum Verteilen!

And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp sword. As a barber's razor thou shall take it to thee, and shall cause it to pass upon thy head and upon thy beard. Then take thee balances to weigh and divide the hair.

2 Ein Drittel sollst du mitten in der Stadt verbrennen, wenn verflossen der Belagerung Tage. Das andere Drittel schneide mit dem Schwert in deiner Nachbarschaft ganz klein. Das letzte Drittel streue in den Wind! Doch halte ich auch hinter diesem noch das Schwert gezogen.

A third part thou shall burn in the fire in the midst of the city when the days of the siege are fulfilled, and thou shall take a third part, and smite with the sword round about it, and a third part thou shall scatter to the wind. And I will draw out a sword after them.

3 Doch nimm zuvor davon ein wenig und bind's in deinen Bausch!

And thou shall take from it a few in number, and bind them in thy skirts.

4 Von diesem nimm noch etwas und wirf's ins Feuer! Verbrenn es drin! Daraus entzündet sich ein anderes Feuer fürs ganze Haus von Israel."

And of these again thou shall take, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire. From there a fire shall come forth into all the house of Israel.

5 So spricht der Herr, der Herr: "So ist es mit Jerusalem: Ich hab' es in der Heidenvölker Mitte hingestellt und in die Nachbarschaft von Ländern.

Thus says the lord Jehovah: This is Jerusalem. I have set her in the midst of the nations, and countries are round about her.

6 Weit ungehorsamer als je ein Heidenvolk betrug sich's gegen meine Vorschriften, und schlimmer gegen meine Satzungen als je die Länder seiner Nachbarschaft. So hat es meine Vorschriften verachtet und dem nicht nachgelebt, was ich geboten."

And she has rebelled against my ordinances in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against my statutes more than the countries that are round about her, for they have rejected my ordinances, and as for my statutes, they have not walked in them.

7 Deshalb spricht so der Herr, der Herr: "Ihr habt ob eures Überflusses, der den der Heidenvölker um euch übertraf, dem nimmer nachgelebt, was ich geboten, und nimmer meine Vorschriften befolgt. Nein! Nach der Art der Heidenvölker rings um euch habt ihr getan."

Therefore thus says the lord Jehovah: Because ye are more disorderly than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, nor have kept my ordinances, no, ye have not even done according to the ordinances of the nations that are round about you,

8 Darum spricht so der Herr, der Herr: "Fürwahr, so will ich auch an dich. In deiner Mitte halte ich Gericht vor dieser Heidenvölker Augen,

therefore thus says the lord Jehovah: Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and I will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations.

9 und ich verhänge über dich, was ich noch nie verhängt, desgleichen ich auch künftig nicht verhängen werde, um aller deiner Greueltaten willen.

And I will do in thee that which I have not done, and of which I will not do any more the like, because of all thine abominations.

10 Drum sollen Väter ihre Kinder und Kinder ihre Väter bei dir fressen. Ich tu genau nach Recht an dir und streue deinen ganzen Rest in alle Winde.

Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers. And I will execute judgments on thee, and I will scatter to all the winds the whole remnant of thee.

11 Deshalb, so wahr ich lebe", ein Spruch des Herrn, "weil du mein Heiligtum entweiht durch alle deine Greuelgötzen und alle deine Schandgottheiten, hau ich erbarmungslos darein und ohne Schonung.

Therefore, as I live, says the lord Jehovah, surely, because thou have defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore I also will diminish thee, nor shall my eye spare. And I also will have no pity.

12 Dein dritter Teil stirbt an der Pest und wird durch Hunger in dir aufgerieben. Das andere Drittel fällt durchs Schwert in deiner Nähe; das letzte Drittel streue ich in alle Winde und halte hinter ihm das Schwert gezogen.

A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and they shall be consumed with famine in the midst of thee, and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee, and a third part I will scatter to all the winds, and will draw out a sword after them.

13 Mein ganzer Grimm entlädt sich so; ich kühle meinen Zorn an ihnen und nehme Rache. Dann werden sie erkennen, daß ich, der Herr, es bin, der da im Eifer seines Zornes droht, wenn ich an ihnen meinen Grimm abkühle.

Thus my anger shall be accomplished, and I will cause my wrath toward them to rest, and I shall be comforted. And they shall know that I, Jehovah, have spoken in my zeal, when I have accomplished my wrath upon them.

14 Ich mache dich zur Wüstenei, zum Spott der Heidenvölker rings um dich und in den Augen eines jeden, der dich betrachtet.

Moreover I will make thee a desolation and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all who pass by.

15 Der Schande fällst du und dem Schimpf anheim, zur Warnung und zum Staunen bei den Heidenvölkern rings um dich, wenn ich in Zorn und Grimm, in Züchtigungen unter Zürnen an dir das Strafgericht vollziehe. Ich, ich, der Herr, ich habe dies gesprochen.

So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, a lesson and an astonishment, to the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments on thee in anger and in wrath, and in wrathful rebukes-I, Jehovah, have spoken it-

16 Wenn ich des Hungers Pfeile, die verderblichen, auf die abschieße, die zum Verderben sind bestimmt, dann mehre ich zum Schaden noch den Hunger, zerbreche jede Brotesstütze euch, wenn ich zu eurem Untergang sie abgeschossen.

when I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you. And I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread.

17 Ich sende Hungersnot und wilde Tiere gegen euch, dich kinderlos zu machen. Und Pest und Blutvergießen überfallen dich. Ich bringe über dich das Schwert. Ich, ich, der Herr, ich habe es gesprochen."

And I will send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee. And pestilence and blood shall pass through thee. And I will bring the sword upon thee. I, Jehovah, have spoken it.
