Hesekiel 37
1 Da senkte sich die Hand des Herrn auf mich. Im Geiste führte mich der Herr hinaus und brachte mich in eine Ebene voller Gebeine.
The Lord picked me up and carried me away by his Spirit. He set me down in the middle of a valley that was full of bones.
2 Er ließ mich ringsum sie betrachten; sehr viele lagen auf der Ebene. Sie waren völlig ausgetrocknet.
He led me around them, and in all directions I saw many, many bones on the valley floor. They were really dry.
3 Er sprach zu mir: "Sag, Menschensohn! Sollten wohl die Gebeine abermals lebendig werden können?" Ich sprach: "Herr, Herr, das weißt nur du."
Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones come back to life?” “Lord God, only you know the answer,” I replied.
4 Er sprach zu mir: "So prophezeie über die Gebeine und sprich zu ihnen: 'Ihr ausgetrockneten Gebeine, vernehmt das Wort des Herrn!
He told me, “Prophesy to these bones and tell them, Dry bones, listen to this message from the Lord!
5 So spricht der Herr, der Herr, zu den Gebeinen: "Ich bringe zur Belebung Geist in euch,
This is what the Lord God says to these bones: I will breathe into you, and you will come back to life.
6 und Sehnen lege ich auf euch und lasse Fleisch darüber wachsen und überziehe euch mit Haut und bringe zur Belebung Geist in euch, daß ihr erfahrt, daß ich der Herr."'
I will give you tendons and have flesh grow over you and cover you with skin. I will breathe into you so that you will come back to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”
7 Da prophezeite ich, wie mir befohlen wird. Und als ich prophezeite, gab es ein Getöse, und die Gebeine rückten eins ans andere.
So I prophesied just as I had been ordered. When I started prophesying, suddenly I heard a rattling noise. The bones joined together, bone attached to bone.
8 Ich sah's. Da kamen Sehnen dran, und Fleisch wuchs drüber her. Dann spannte Haut sich oben drüber. Noch aber war kein Geist in ihnen.
As I watched, I saw tendons and flesh grow on them, and skin covered them; but the bodies didn't breathe.
9 Er sprach zu mir: "Weissage von dem Geiste! Weissage, Menschensohn, und sprich zum Geiste: So spricht der Herr, der Herr: 'Herbei von den vier Winden komm, Geist! Hauch diese Toten an, daß sie lebendig werden!'"
Then he told me, “Prophesy to the breath! Prophesy, son of man, and tell the breath that this is what the Lord God says: Breath, come from the four winds, and breathe into these bodies, so that they can come back to life!”
10 Ich prophezeite so, wie er mir anbefohlen. Da kam der Geist in sie. Sie wurden abermals lebendig und stellten sich auf ihre Füße, eine große, große Schar.
So I prophesied just as he had ordered me, and the breath went into the bodies, and they came back to life and stood up, a huge army!
11 Er sprach zu mir: "Sieh, Menschensohn! Diese Gebeine sollen das gesamte Haus von Israel bedeuten; sie sind es, die gesprochen: 'Fleischlos sind unsere Gebeine, und unsere Hoffnung ist dahin, und unser Lebensfaden ist zerschnitten.'
He told me, “Son of man, these bones represent all the people of Israel. Listen to what the people are saying, ‘Our bones have dried up, and our hope has been crushed. We have been wiped out!’
12 Deswegen weissage und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der Herr, der Herr: 'Ich öffne eure Gräber und lasse euch, mein Volk, aus euren Gräbern steigen und führe euch in das Land Israel.
So prophesy and tell them that this is what the Lord God says: My people, I'm going to open your graves and lift you out of them, and I will take you back to the country of Israel.
13 Dann werdet ihr erkennen, daß ich der Herr bin, wenn ich eure Gräber öffne und euch aus diesen Gräbern steigen lasse.
Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and lift you out of them, my people.
14 Ich senke meinen Geist in euch, daß ihr lebendig werdet und erfahrt: Ich selbst, der Herr, tu das, was ich versprochen.'" Ein Spruch des Herrn.
I will put my Spirit in you and you will live again, and I will take you back to your own country. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will carry it out, declares the Lord.”
15 Das Wort des Herrn erging an mich:
Another message from the Lord came to me, saying,
16 "Du Menschensohn! Ein Holz nimm dir und schreib darauf: 'Für Juda und die Söhne Israels, die es mit jenem hielten'. Dann nimm dir einen andern Stab und schreib darauf: 'Für Joseph ist dies Holz, für Ephraim und für das ganze Haus, das es mit jenem hielt'.
“Son of man, get one piece of wood and write on it: ‘This belongs to Judah and the Israelite tribes allied to them.’ Then get another piece of wood and write on it: ‘This belongs to Joseph. This is Ephraim's piece of wood, and to the Israelite tribes allied to them.’
17 Und füge eins zum anderen, daß sie zu einem Holze werden, daß sie in deiner Hand zu einem Stücke werden!
Then join the two pieces of wood into one, so that you hold them as one in your hand.
18 Und fragen dich die Söhne deines Volks: 'Willst du uns nicht erklären, was dies wohl bedeutet?',
When your people come and ask you, ‘Are you going to explain what this is all about?’
19 dann sag zu ihnen: Also spricht der Herr, der Herr: 'Ich nehme Josephs Holz, das sich bei Ephraim befindet, und die Stämme Israels, die es mit jenem hielten, und füge es ans Juda-Holz und mache sie zu einem Holze. Sie werden eins durch meine Hand.'
tell them that this is what the Lord God says: I'm going to take Joseph's piece of wood, which Ephraim is holding, along with the Israelite tribes allied with them, and I'll join them with Judah's piece of wood. I will make them into a single piece of wood, and they will be as one in my hand.
20 Dann nimm die Hölzer, auf die du geschrieben hast, in deine Hand vor ihren Augen
When you're holding the pieces of wood you've written on, and while everyone is watching,
21 und sprich zu ihnen: Also spricht der Herr, der Herr: 'Fürwahr, ich hol die Söhne Israels her aus den Heidenvölkern, bei denen sie sich aufgehalten, und sammle sie von allen Seiten und bringe sie ins Vaterland
tell them that this is what the Lord God says: I'm going to bring the Israelites back from the nations where they've gone. I will gather them from everywhere and take them back to their own country.
22 und mache sie zu einem Volk im Lande auf den Bergen Israels. Zum König sollen sie dann alle einen König haben; sie sollen nimmermehr zwei Völker sein, nicht mehr geteilt sein in zwei Königreiche!
I will make them one nation in the country, living in the mountains of Israel, and one king will rule them all. They won't be two nations any longer; never again will they be divided into two kingdoms.
23 Sie machen sich nicht weiterhin unrein an ihren Götzen, ihren Scheusalen. Von allen ihren Sünden will ich sie befreien. Von allen ihren Ausgelassenheiten, durch die sie sich versündigt, will ich sie reinigen. Sie sollen dann mein Schutzvolk werden; ich will ihr Schutzgott sein.
They won't make themselves unclean anymore with their idols or disgusting images, or with any of their rebellious sins. I will save them from all their sins when they abandoned me, and I will make them clean. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
24 Mein Diener David soll ihr König werden. Ein Hirte soll er für sie alle sein. Nach meinen Rechten werden sie sich richten und meine Satzungen beachten und sie tun
My servant David will be their king. They will be united under one ruler. They will follow my laws, and they will observe and practice my regulations.
25 und in dem Lande wohnen, das meinem Diener Jakob einst ich eingeräumt, in dem einst eure Väter wohnten. Auf ewig wohnen sie darin und ihre Kinder, ihre Kindeskinder, und ewig ist mein Diener David Fürst bei ihnen.
They will live in the country I gave to my servant Jacob where your forefathers lived. They will live there with their children and grandchildren forever, and my servant David will be their prince forever.
26 Mit ihnen schließe ich des Friedens Bund; ein Bund von ewiger Dauer soll er ihnen sein. Ich will sie segnen und sie mehren und nehme meinen heiligen Sitz auf ewig unter ihnen.
I will make an agreement of peace with them. This will be an everlasting agreement. I will make them secure and increase their numbers, and I will keep my sanctuary there with them forever.
27 Mein Wohnsitz wird bei ihnen sein; ich will ihr Schutzgott werden, und sie werden dann mein Schutzvolk sein.
My Tabernacle will be with them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
28 Die Heiden werden anerkennen, daß ich, der Herr, mein Israel ganz heilig mache, wenn ewiglich mein heiliger Sitz bei ihnen ist.'"
The nations will acknowledge that I am the Lord who blesses Israel, when my sanctuary is with them forever.”
