Hesekiel 26

1 Im elften Jahr, am ersten Tag des Mondes, erging das Wort des Herrn an mich:

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, on the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 "Hör, Menschensohn! Weil Tyrus ausrief: 'Ha, Jerusalem, Zerschmettert sind der Völker Pforten. Nun wendet sich mir alles zu. Ich blühe auf, weil sie in Trümmern liegt.'

Son of man, because Tyre hath said concerning Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people; she is turned unto me; I shall be made full, now she is laid in ruins:

3 Deshalb spricht so der Herr, der Herr: 'Fürwahr, ich will an dich, du Tyrus, und führe viele Heidenvölker gegen dich heran, wie sich das Meer erhebt in seinen Wellen.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I am against thee, O Tyre, and will bring up against thee many nations, as the sea causeth its waves to come up.

4 Und Tyrus' Mauern werden sie zerstören und seine Türme niederreißen. Dann fege ich den Schutt von seiner Fläche und mache es zu einem nackten Felsen.

And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and pull down her towers: I will also flood away her earth from her, and I will change her into a naked rock.

5 Ein Trockenplatz für Fischernetze soll's am Meere werden. Ich sage es', ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn. 'Der Heidenvölker Beute soll es werden.

A place for the spreading out of nets shall she be in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Eternal: and she shall become a spoil to the nations.

6 Und seine Töchter auf dem festen Land, ermordet werden sie durchs Schwert, damit sie innewerden, daß ich der Herr.'

And her daughters that are in the field shall be slain with the sword: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

7 Denn also spricht der Herr, der Herr: 'Fürwahr, ich bringe gegen Tyrus Babels König Nebukadrezar, von Norden her den König aller Könige mit Rossen, Wagen, Reitern und vielen Völkerscharen.

For thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will bring against Tyre Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, from the north, the king of kings, with horses, and with chariot's, and with horsemen, and an assemblage, and a numerous people.

8 Er tötet mit dem Schwerte deine Töchter auf dem Lande, erbaut Belagerungstürme gegen dich und schüttet einen Wall auf rings um dich; Schilddächer stellt er gegen dich dann auf

Thy daughters in the field will he slay with the sword: and he shall place around thee works of attack, and cast up against thee a mound, and erect against thee a target-fence.

9 und richtet seines Sturmbocks Stöße gegen deine Mauern und wirft mit seinen Kriegsgeräten deine Türme nieder.

And his catapults shall he set against thy walls, and thy towers shall he break down with his axes.

10 Der Staub von seiner Rosse Menge deckt dich zu; vom Rasseln seiner Reiter, seiner Wagenräder beben deine Mauern, wenn er in deine Tore dringt, so wie man einzieht in erstürmte Städte.

By reason of the abundance of his horses shall the dust they raise cover thee: by reason of the noise of horsemen, and wheels, and chariots, shall thy walls quake, when he entereth into thy gates, as men enter into a city that is broken in.

11 Die Hufe seiner Rosse zerstampfen alle deine Gassen, und mit dem Schwerte tötet er dein Volk, und deine schönen Säulen stürzen auf den Boden.

With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets: thy people will he slay with the sword, and the statues of thy strength shall come down to the ground.

12 Sie plündern deine Schätze, rauben deine Handelsgüter, legen deine Mauern nieder, reißen deine Prachtgebäude ein und werfen deine Steine, Balken, deinen Schutt ins Wasser.

And they shall plunder thy riches, and make a spoil of thy merchandise; and they shall break down thy walls, and thy pleasure-houses shall they pull down: and thy stones and thy timber and thy earth shall they throw into the midst of the water.

13 Und deinem Liederklange mache ich ein Ende, und deiner Zithern Ton wird nimmermehr gehört.

And I will cause the sound of thy songs to cease: and the tones of thy harps shall not be heard any more.

14 Ich mache dich zum kahlen Felsen. Du wirst ein Trockenplatz für Fischernetze. Du wirst nie wieder auferbaut. Denn ich, der Herr, ich sage es.' Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn.

And I will change thee into a naked rock; a place to spread out nets upon shalt thou be; thou shalt not be rebuilt any more; for I the Lord have spoken it, saith the Lord Eternal.

15 So spricht der Herr, der Herr, von Tyrus: 'Erbeben nicht die Inseln von dem Dröhnen deines Niedersturzes, beim Stöhnen der Durchbohrten, bei dem Gemetzel, das in dir geschieht?

Thus hath said the Lord Eternal to Tyre, Truly at the noise of thy fall, when the deadly wounded whine, when the slaughter taketh place in the midst of thee, shall the islands quake.

16 Herab von ihren Thronen steigen des Meeres Fürsten alle; sie legen ihre Mäntel ab und ziehen ihre buntgestickten Kleider aus und hüllen sich in Bußgewänder und setzen sich zu Boden und zittern unaufhörlich, entsetzen sich gewaltig über dich.

Then shall all the princes of the sea come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and their broidered garments shall they put off: with trembling shall they clothe themselves; upon the ground shall they sit, and shall tremble at every moment, and be astonished concerning thee.

17 Sie stimmen über dich ein Klaglied an und werden von dir sagen: "Wie bist du doch zugrundgerichtet, Stadt des grauen Altertums, du hochgepriesene Stadt, so mächtig auf dem Meer, samt deinen Bürgern, die alle seine Anwohner erzittern machte."

And they shall lift up over thee a lamentation, and say to thee, How art thou lost, that wast inhabited [safely] by reason of the seas: O renowned city, which was strong on the sea, she and her inhabitants, who caused their terror to be on all that dwelt around her!

18 Am Tage deines Sturzes bebt die Küste; des Meeres Inseln sind ob deines Untergangs bestürzt.'

Now shall the isles tremble on the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at thy end.

19 Denn also spricht der Herr, der Herr: 'Ich mache dich jetzt zur zerstörten Stadt, den Städten gleich, die unbewohnbar sind. Ich laß die See dich überströmen, daß dich die Wassermassen ganz bedecken.

For thus hath said the Lord Eternal, When I render thee a ruined city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I bring up over thee the deep, and when the great waters cover thee:

20 Ich stürze dich hinab zu denen, die zur Grube fuhren, hinab zu Völkern früherer Zeiten. Ich weise in den Tiefen dir der Erde eine Wohnung an bei Trümmern aus der alten Zeit, bei denen, die zur Grube fuhren, daß du nicht weiter lebst. Im Lande der Lebendigen erwecke ich Gejauchze.

Then will I bring thee down with those that descend into the pit, unto the people of olden time, and I will cause thee to dwell in the land of the nether world, among ruins of ancient days, with those that go down to the pit, in order that thou mayest not be inhabited; but I will bestow glory in the land of life.

21 Ich mache dich zum Schrecken; du bist nicht mehr. Du wirst gesucht, jedoch in Ewigkeit nicht mehr gefunden.' Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn."

As though thou hadst not been will I render thee, and thou shalt be no more: and thou shalt be sought for, but thou shalt never be found any more to eternity, saith the Lord Eternal.
