2 Mose 9
1 Da sprach der Herr zu Moses: "Geh zu Pharao hinein! Dann sprich zu ihm: 'So spricht der Herr, der Schutzgott der Hebräer: Entlaß mein Volk, daß sie mich verehren!
And the Lord said to Moses: Go in to Pharao, and speak to him: Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews: Let my people go to sacrifice to me.
2 Verweigerst du aber die Freilassung und hältst sie weiter fest,
But if thou refuse, and withhold them still:
3 dann kommt die Hand des Herrn zum Verderben an dein Vieh auf dem Felde, an Pferde, Esel, Kamele, Rinder und Schafe, eine schrecklich schwere Seuche.
Behold my hand shall be upon thy fields: and a very grievous murrain upon thy horses, and asses, and camels, and oxen, and sheep.
4 Aber einen Unterschied macht der Herr zwischen Israels Vieh und dem Ägyptens: Keinem Israeliten stirbt ein Stück.'"
And the Lord will make a wonderful difference between the possessions of Israel and the possessions of the Egyptians, that nothing at all shall die of those things that belong to the children of Israel.
5 Und der Herr bestimmte eine Zeit, indem er sprach: "Morgen schon tut dies der Herr an dem Lande."
And the Lord appointed a time, saying: Tomorrow will the Lord do this thing in the land.
6 Und der Herr tat dies am folgenden Tage. Alles Vieh der Ägypter fiel; aber vom Vieh der Israeliten fiel nicht eines.
The Lord therefore did this thing the next day: and all the beasts of the Egyptians died, but of the beasts of the children of Israel there died not one.
7 Da ließ Pharao nachsehen. Und von Israels Vieh war auch nicht eines gefallen. Doch Pharaos Herz verstockte sich, und er entließ das Volk nicht.
And Pharao sent to see: and there was not any thing dead of that which Israel possessed. And Pharao’s heart was hardened, and he did not let the people go.
8 Da sprach der Herr zu Moses und Aaron: "Füllt eure Hände jetzt mit Ofenruß! Und Moses streue ihn himmelwärts vor Pharaos Augen!
And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron: Take to you handfuls of ashes out of the chimney, and let Moses sprinkle it in the air in the presence of Pharao.
9 Dann wird er zu feinem Staube über ganz Ägypten und wird an Mensch und Tier in ganz Ägypten zu Beulen, und diese brechen schwärend auf."
And be there dust upon all the land of Egypt: for there shall be boils and swelling blains both in men and beasts in the whole land of Egypt.
10 Da nahmen sie Ofenruß, traten vor Pharao, und Moses streute ihn himmelwärts. Da wurden schwärende Beulen, die aufbrachen, an Mensch und Vieh.
And they took ashes out of the chimney, and stood before Pharao, and Moses sprinkled it in the air: and there came boils with swelling blains in men and beasts.
11 Die Zauberkünstler aber konnten nicht vor Moses stehen wegen der Beulen; denn an den Zauberkünstlern, wie an allen Ägyptern, waren die Beulen.
Neither could the magicians stand before Moses for the boils that were upon them, and in all the land of Egypt.
12 Der Herr aber verhärtete Pharaos Herz, hatte er doch nicht auf sie gehört, wie es der Herr dem Moses vorhergesagt.
And the Lord hardened Pharao’s heart, and he hearkened not unto them, as the Lord had spoken to Moses.
13 Da sprach der Herr zu Moses: "In aller Frühe tritt morgen vor den Pharao und sprich zu ihm: So spricht der Herr, der Schutzgott der Hebräer: 'Entlasse mein Volk, daß sie mich verehren!
And the Lord said to Moses: Arise in the morning, and stand before Pharao, and thou shalt say to him: Thus saith the Lord the God of the Hebrews: Let my people go to sacrifice to me.
14 Denn diesmal schicke ich alle meine Plagen auch zu dir wie zu deinen Dienern und deinem Volke, daß du erkennest: Keiner ist auf der ganzen Erde wie ich.
For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thy heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people: that thou mayst know there is none like me in all the earth.
15 Schon jetzt könnte ich meine Hand ausstrecken und dich samt deinem Volke mit Seuchen schlagen, daß du von der Erde schwändest.
For now I will stretch out my hand to strike thee, and thy people with pestilence, and thou shalt perish from the earth.
16 Ich lasse dich doch gerade deshalb leben, damit ich dir meine Macht zeige, damit man auf der ganzen Erde meinen Ruhm künde.
And therefore have I raised thee, that I may shew my power in thee, and my name may be spoken of throughout all the earth.
17 Hältst du aber weiterhin mein Volk zurück und willst es nicht entlassen,
Dost thou yet hold back my people: and wilt thou not let them go?
18 dann lasse ich morgen um diese Zeit einen überschweren Hagel niedergehen, desgleichen nicht in Ägypten war seit seiner Gründungszeit bis jetzt.
Behold I will cause it to rain tomorrow at this same hour, an exceeding great hail: such as hath not been in Egypt from the day that it was founded, until this present time.
19 Nun schick hin und birg dein Vieh und alles, was du auf dem Felde hast! All die Menschen und Tiere, die auf dem Felde betroffen werden und nicht unter Dach kommen, sterben, geht der Hagel auf sie nieder.'"
Send therefore now presently, and gather together thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field: for men and beasts, and all things that shall be found abroad, and not gathered together out of the fields, which the hail shall fall upon, shall die.
20 Wer nun von Pharaos Höflingen das Wort des Herrn achtete, der flüchtete seine Sklaven und sein Vieh unter Dach.
He that feared the word of the Lord among Pharao’s servants, made his servants and his cattle flee into houses:
21 Wer aber des Herrn Wort mißachtete, der ließ seine Sklaven und sein Vieh auf dem Felde.
But he that regarded not the word of the Lord, left his servants and his cattle in the fields:
22 Da sprach der Herr zu Moses: "Streck deine Hand gen Himmel, daß Hagel in ganz Ägypterland falle auf Mensch und Vieh und alles Feldgewächs im Lande Ägypten!"
And the Lord said to Moses: Stretch forth thy hand towards heaven, that there may be hail in the whole land of Egypt, upon men, and upon beasts, and upon every herb of the field in the land of Egypt.
23 Und Moses streckte seinen Stab gen Himmel. Da ließ der Herr Donner und Hagel kommen, und Feuer ging nieder. So ließ der Herr Hagel auf das Land Ägypten fallen.
And Moses stretched forth his rod towards heaven, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and lightning running along the ground: and the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
24 Ein Hagel war es, und mitten im Hagel ein Flugfeuer, übermächtig. Seinesgleichen war nie über ganz Ägypterland gekommen, seitdem es ein Volk geworden.
And the hail and fire mixed with it drove on together: and it was of so great bigness, as never before was seen in the whole land of Egypt since that nation was founded.
25 Und der Hagel schlug im ganzen Land Ägypten alles auf dem Felde, Mensch und Vieh. Auch alles Feldgewächs schlug der Hagel und zerschmetterte alle Bäume des Feldes.
And the hail destroyed through all the land of Egypt all things that were in the fields, both man and beast: and the hail smote every herb of the field, and it broke every tree of the country.
26 Nur in dem Lande Gosen, wo die Israeliten waren, fiel kein Hagel.
Only in the land of Gessen, where the children of Israel were, the hail fell not.
27 Da sandte Pharao, berief Moses und Aaron und sprach zu ihnen: "Diesmal habe ich gefehlt. Der Herr ist im Recht; ich aber und mein Volk sind im Unrecht.
And Pharao sent and called Moses and Aaron, saying to them: I have sinned this time also; the Lord is just: I and my people are wicked.
28 Legt bei dem Herrn Fürsprache ein! Übergenug des Gottesdonners und des Hagels! Ich lasse euch frei. Ihr sollt nicht länger verweilen."
Pray ye to the Lord, that the thunderings of God and the hail may cease: that I may let you go, and that you may stay here no longer.
29 Da sprach Moses zu ihm: "Sobald ich aus der Stadt gehe, breite ich zum Herrn meine Hände. Das Donnern wird aufhören, und der Hagel nicht mehr sein, daß du erkennest: Dem Herrn gehört die Erde.
Moses said: As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will stretch forth my hands to the Lord, and the thunders shall cease, and the hail shall be no more: that thou mayst know that the earth is the Lord’s.
30 Doch du und deine Diener fürchten noch nicht den Herrn, Gott, wie ich wohl weiß."
But I know that neither thou, nor thy servants do yet fear the Lord God.
31 Der Flachs und die Gerste waren zerschlagen worden; denn die Gerste stand in Ähren, und der Flachs in Blüte.
The flax therefore and the barley were hurt, because the barley was green, and the flax was now boiled:
32 Weizen aber und Spelt waren nicht zerschlagen worden, weil sie spät sind.
But the wheat, and other winter corn were not hurt, because they were lateward.
33 Moses ging nun von Pharao zur Stadt hinaus und breitete seine Hände zum Herrn. Da hörte Donnern und Hageln auf; auch der Regen goß nicht mehr auf die Erde.
And when Moses was gone from Pharao out of the city, he stretched forth his hands to the Lord: and the thunders and the hail ceased, neither did there drop any more rain upon the earth.
34 Als aber Pharao sah, daß Regen, Hagel und Donner aufgehört, verharrte er in seiner Sünde und verstockte sein Herz, samt seinen Dienern.
And Pharao seeing that the rain and the hail, and the thunders were ceased, increased his sin.
35 Und Pharaos Herz verhärtete sich, und so ließ er die Israeliten nicht ziehen, wie es der Herr durch Moses vorhergesagt.
And his heart was hardened, and the heart of his servants, and it was made exceeding hard: neither did he let the children of Israel go, as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses.
