5 Mose 24
1 "Ein Mann nimmt ein Weib und heiratet sie. Sie findet aber nicht Gunst in seinen Augen, weil er an ihr etwas Abstoßendes entdeckt. So schreibt er ihr einen Scheidebrief, händigt ihn ihr aus und entläßt sie aus seinem Hause.
When a man takes a wife, and marries her, then it shall be, if she finds no favor in his eyes, because he has found some unseemly thing in her, that he shall write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
2 Sie aber geht nach dem Weggang aus seinem Hause hin und wird eines anderen Mannes.
And when she has departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's.
3 Dieser zweite Mann aber schreibt ihr auch einen Scheidebrief, weil er ihr abgeneigt ist, händigt ihn ihr aus und entläßt sie aus seinem Hause, oder der zweite Mann stirbt, der sie zum Weib nimmt.
And if the latter husband dislikes her, and writes her a bill of divorcement, and gives it in her hand, and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies, who took her to be his wife,
4 Nun kann sie ihr erster Mann, der sie entlassen, nicht wieder zum Weibe nehmen, nachdem sie unrein geworden ist. Denn ein Greuel ist das vor dem Herrn. Du aber sollst das Land nicht beflecken, das dir der Herr, dein Gott, zu eigen gibt!
her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife after she is defiled. For that is abomination before Jehovah, and thou shall not cause the land to sin, which Jehovah thy God gives thee for an inheritance.
5 Nimmt jemand ein neues Weib, so braucht er nicht mit dem Heere auszuziehen. Er gehört nicht dazu. Er soll ein Jahr für sein Haus frei sein, damit er sein Weib erfreue, das er genommen!
When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out in the army, neither shall he be charged with any business. He shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife whom he has taken.
6 Man soll nicht die Handmühle, und zwar den oberen Mühlstein, pfänden; denn damit pfändet man das Leben!
No man shall take the mill or the upper millstone to pledge, for he takes life to pledge.
7 Wird einer dabei ertappt, wie er einen seiner Brüder, einen Israeliten, stiehlt, ihn versklavt und verkauft, so soll ein solcher Dieb sterben! Tilge das Böse aus deiner Mitte!
If a man is found stealing any of his brothers of the sons of Israel, and he deals with him harshly, or sells him, then that thief shall die. So shall thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.
8 Nimm dich in acht bei der Plage des Aussatzes, daß du genau all die Weisungen achtest und sie befolgst, die euch die levitischen Priester lehren! Wie ich ihnen befohlen, so sollt ihr sorgfältig verfahren!
Take heed in the disease of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you. As I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.
9 Bedenke, was der Herr, dein Gott, unterwegs an Mirjam tat, auf eurem Zuge aus Ägypten!
Remember what Jehovah thy God did to Miriam by the way as ye came forth out of Egypt.
10 Borgst du deinem Nächsten, dann darfst du nicht sein Haus betreten, um von ihm ein Pfand zu erheben.
When thou do lend thy neighbor any manner of loan, thou shall not go into his house to fetch his pledge.
11 Draußen sollst du stehenbleiben! Der Mann, dem du geborgt, soll dir das Pfand herausbringen!
Thou shall stand outside, and the man to whom thou lend shall bring forth the pledge outside to thee.
12 Ist es ein armer Mann, dann lege dich nicht schlafen mit seinem Pfande!
And if he is a poor man, thou shall not sleep with his pledge.
13 Du sollst ihm das Pfand bei Sonnenuntergang zurückgeben, damit er sich in seinem Mantel schlafen lege und dich segne! Dann hast du ein Verdienst vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott.
Thou shall surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his garment, and bless thee. And it shall be righteousness to thee before Jehovah thy God.
14 Einen armen und bedürftigen Taglöhner sollst du nicht drücken, sei er von deinen Brüdern oder von den Fremdlingen in deinem Land und in deinen Toren bei dir!
Thou shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brothers, or of thy sojourners that are in thy land within thy gates.
15 Du sollst ihm seinen Lohn noch am selben Tage geben, bevor die Sonne darüber untergeht! Denn er ist arm und verlangt sehnlich danach. Sonst ruft er den Herrn gegen dich an, und Sünde ist an dir.
Thou shall give him his hire in his day, neither shall the sun go down upon it, for he is poor, and sets his heart upon it, lest he cry against thee to Jehovah, and it be sin to thee.
16 Väter sollen nicht wegen der Kinder getötet werden und Kinder nicht wegen der Väter! Jeder sterbe nur für seine Schuld!
The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, neither shall the sons be put to death for the fathers. Every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
17 Das Recht eines Fremdlings und einer Waise sollst du nicht beugen! Du sollst nicht das Kleid einer Witwe pfänden!
Thou shall not distort the justice due to the sojourner, or to the fatherless, nor take the widow's raiment to pledge,
18 Bedenke, daß du in Ägypten Sklave gewesen und daß dich der Herr, dein Gott, daraus befreit hat! Darum gebiete ich dir, so zu tun.
but thou shall remember that thou were a bondman in Egypt, and Jehovah thy God redeemed thee from there. Therefore I command thee to do this thing.
19 Hältst du auf dem Felde deine Ernte und vergißt du eine Garbe auf dem Felde, dann sollst du nicht zurückkehren, sie zu holen! Sie soll den Fremdlingen, Waisen und Witwen gehören, auf daß dich der Herr, dein Gott, bei allem Tun deiner Hände segne!
When thou reap thy harvest in thy field, and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, thou shall not go again to fetch it. It shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow, that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hands.
20 Schüttelst du deine Ölbäume, dann sollst du nicht die Zweige hinterher abklopfen! Den Fremdlingen, Waisen und Witwen sollen sie eigen sein!
When thou beat thine olive tree, thou shall not go over the boughs again. It shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
21 Hältst du Lese in deinem Weinberg, dann sollst du nicht hinterher Nachlese halten! Den Fremdlingen, Waisen und Witwen soll es eigen sein!
When thou gather of thy vineyard, thou shall not glean it behind thee. It shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
22 Bedenke, daß du in Ägypten Sklave gewesen! Darum gebiete ich dir, also zu tun."
And thou shall remember that thou were a bondman in the land of Egypt. Therefore I command thee to do this thing.
