Kolosser 2
1 Ich möchte euch zu wissen tun, welch große Sorge ich um euch habe, um die in Laodizea, wie überhaupt um alle, die mich persönlich noch nicht kennen.
For I would have you know, what manner of care I have for you and for them that are at Laodicea, and whosoever have not seen my face in the flesh:
2 Ich möchte, daß ihre Herzen gefestigt werden, daß sie, vereint in Liebe, zur ganzen reichen Fülle der Einsicht kämen, zur Erkenntnis des Geheimnisses Gottes, das heißt Christus,
That their hearts may be comforted, being instructed in charity, and unto all riches of fulness of understanding, unto the knowledge of the mystery of God the Father and of Christ Jesus:
3 in dem alle Schätze der Weisheit und des Wissens verborgen liegen.
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 Das sage ich, damit niemand euch durch blendende Gespräche in Verwirrung bringe.
Now this I say, that no man may deceive you by loftiness of words.
5 Denn mag ich körperlich auch ferne sein, geistig bin ich doch bei euch und sehe mit Freuden, wie es gut um euch bestellt, wie euer Christusglaube so gefestigt ist.
For though I be absent in body, yet in spirit I am with you; rejoicing, and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith which is in Christ.
6 Wie ihr den Herrn Christus Jesus kennengelernt habt, so wandelt auch in ihm!
As therefore you have received Jesus Christ the Lord, walk ye in him;
7 In ihm faßt Wurzel, baut auf ihm euch auf und festigt euch im Glauben, wie man es euch gelehrt hat; von Dankbarkeit strömt über.
Rooted and built up in him, and confirmed in the faith, as also you have learned, abounding in him in thanksgiving.
8 Nehmt euch in acht, damit keiner euch einfange durch Weltweisheit und leere Täuschung, die auf Menschenüberlieferung beruht, auf Weltgeistern, aber nicht auf Christus;
Beware lest any man cheat you by philosophy, and vain deceit; according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ:
9 wohnt doch in ihm die ganze Fülle der Gottheit wesenhaft.
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead corporeally;
10 Ihr habt teil an dieser Fülle in ihm, dem Haupte jeder Macht und Kraft.
And you are filled in him, who is the head of all principality and power:
11 In ihm seid ihr auch beschnitten worden, nicht mit einer Beschneidung, die mit der Hand gemacht ward, sondern durch die Ablegung des Fleischesleibes, die Beschneidung in Christus.
In whom also you are circumcised with circumcision not made by hand, in despoiling of the body of the flesh, but in the circumcision of Christ:
12 Mit ihm seid ihr begraben worden in der Taufe, mit ihm auch auferweckt durch den Glauben an die Macht Gottes, der ihn von den Toten auferweckt hat.
Buried with him in baptism, in whom also you are risen again by the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him up from the dead.
13 Euch, die ihr durch eure Missetaten und durch euer unbeschnittenes Fleisch tot waret, hat er mit ihm zusammen auferweckt zum Leben. Er hat uns alle Missetaten gnädig vergeben
And you, when you were dead in your sins, and the uncircumcision of your flesh; he hath quickened together with him, forgiving you all offences:
14 und hat den gegnerischen Schuldschein, der mit seinem Inhalt gegen uns lautete, vernichtet und gelöscht, indem er ihn ans Kreuz geheftet hat.
Blotting out the handwriting of the decree that was against us, which was contrary to us. And he hath taken the same out of the way, fastening it to the cross:
15 Er hat die Mächte und Gewalten entwaffnet und öffentlich zum Spott gemacht und durch ihn über sie triumphiert.
And despoiling the principalities and powers, he hath exposed them confidently in open shew, triumphing over them in himself.
16 So soll euch niemand wegen Speise oder Trank oder wegen eines Festes, Neumondes oder Sabbats verurteilen.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink, or in respect of a festival day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbaths,
17 Dies ist ja nur der Schatten dessen, was erst kommen soll; die Wirklichkeit ist Christus.
Which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ.
18 Und keiner soll euch um den Siegespreis betrügen, der sich in Kasteiung und in Engeldienst gefällt, der sein Leben nach Erscheinungen einrichtet, ganz ohne jeden Grund in seinem Fleischessinn aufgeblasen ist
Let no man seduce you, willing in humility, and religion of angels, walking in the things which he hath not seen, in vain puffed up by the sense of his flesh,
19 und nicht am Haupte festhält. Von ihm aus fügt sich der ganze Leib zusammen, mit Sehnen und mit Bändern ausgestattet, und wächst so immer mehr in Gott hinein.
And not holding the head, from which the whole body, by joints and bands, being supplied with nourishment and compacted, groweth unto the increase of God.
20 Wenn ihr mit Christus den Weltgeistern abgestorben seid, warum laßt ihr euch dann Satzungen aufdrängen, als lebtet ihr noch in der Welt?
If then you be dead with Christ from the elements of this world, why do you yet decree as though living in the world?
21 "Faß das nicht an!" "Koste auch nicht davon!" "Berühre es nicht!"
Touch not, taste not, handle not:
22 Alle diese Dinge werden durch den Verbrauch vernichtet; Menschensatzungen und Menschenlehren.
Which all are unto destruction by the very use, according to the precepts and doctrines of men.
23 Sie haben zwar den Ruf von Weisheit in ihrer selbstgemachten Frömmelei, Demütigung und Kasteiungen des Leibes; jedoch sie haben keinen Wert und dienen nur der Befriedigung des Fleisches.
Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in superstition and humility, and not sparing the body; not in any honour to the filling of the flesh.
