Amos 3
1 Vernehmet diesen Ausspruch, den wider euch der Herr getan, ihr Söhne Israels, und wider alle die Geschlechter, die ich aus dem Ägypterland geführt!
Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,
2 Er lautet so: "Ich lernte euch von allen den Geschlechtern der Erde kennen. Drum strafe ich an euch all eure Missetaten."
You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
3 Begeben zwei sich zueinander, wenn sie sich nicht zum voraus schon bestellt?
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
4 Brüllt denn im Wald der Löwe, eh er seine Beute hat? Läßt denn ein junger Leu aus seinem Lager seine Stimme tönen, bevor er einen Fang gemacht?
Will a lion roar in the forest, when he has no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
5 Fällt auf den festen Boden wohl ein Vogel, wenn nicht ein Wurfholz für ihn dagewesen? Springt denn vom Boden eine Falle auf, bevor sie wirklich einen Fang gemacht?
Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no animal trap is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
6 Wird die Trompete in der Stadt geblasen, ohne daß die Leute recht erschrecken? Trifft eine Stadt ein Ungemach, das nicht der Herr veranlaßt hat?
Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD has not done it?
7 Nichts tut der Herr, der Herr, er habe denn zuvor schon sein Geheimnis seinen Dienern, den Propheten, offenbart.
Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he reveals his secret unto his servants the prophets.
8 Ein Löwe brüllt. Wer hätte keine Angst? Der Herr, der Herr spricht. Wer prophezeite nicht?
The lion has roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD has spoken, who can but prophesy?
9 Vermeldet in den Schlössern von Assyrien, in des Ägypterlandes Schlössern und verkündet: Versammelt euch jetzt auf Samarias Bergen und seht das tolle Treiben an in einer Mitte und die Bedrückungen in seinem Innern!
Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.
10 Ja, recht zu tun, verstehn sie nicht", ein Spruch des Herrn, "sie, die in ihren Schlössern Freveltaten häufen und Gewalttat.
For they know not to do right, says the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
11 Darum", so spricht der Herr, der Herr, "bedrängt ein Feind dies Land. Mit deinem Glanze geht's zu Ende jetzt, und deine Schlösser werden ausgeplündert."
Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down your strength from you, and your palaces shall be spoiled.
12 So spricht der Herr: "Wie aus des Löwen Rachen ein Paar Beine ein Hirte rettet oder bloß ein Ohrläppchen, so werden auch die Söhne Israels sich retten, die in Samaria wohnen, mit einem Bettgestell und einem Damaszener Deckchen.
Thus says the LORD; As the shepherd takes out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.
13 Hört! Zeuget wider Jakobs Haus!" Ein Spruch des Herrn, des Herrn, des Gottes der Heerscharen.
Hear all of you, and testify in the house of Jacob, says the Lord GOD, the God of hosts,
14 "Wenn ich die Frevel Israels an ihm bestrafe, dann nehme ich an den Altären Betels Rache, daß des Altares Hörner, abgehauen, zu Boden fallen.
That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
15 Das Winterhaus zerschlage ich mitsamt dem Sommerhaus, und die mit Elfenbein geschmückten Häuser werden ihrem Untergang verfallen. Große Häuser schwinden gänzlich hin." Ein Spruch des Herrn.
And I will strike the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, says the LORD.
