2 Samuel 9

1 Da fragte David: "Ist noch jemand von Sauls Haus übrig? Ich möchte ihm um Jonatans willen Liebes tun."

And David said, Is there yet any one that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for the sake of Jonathan?

2 Nun war im Hause Sauls ein Diener, namens Siba. Ihn rief man zu David, und der König fragte ihn: "Bist du Siba?" Er sprach: "Ja, dein Sklave."

And the house of Saul had a servant whose name was Ziba; and they called him unto David; and the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And be said, Thy servant [is it].

3 Da fragte ihn der König: "Ist niemand mehr von Sauls Haus da, daß ich an ihm Gottes Liebe erweise?" Da sprach Siba zum König: "Noch ist ein Sohn Jonatans da, aber mit lahmen Beinen.

And the king said, Is there no one left any more of the house of Saul, that I may show him the kindness of God! And Ziba said unto the king, There is yet a son of Jonathan, lame on both feet.

4 Da sprach zu ihm der König: "Wo ist er?" Da sprach Siba zum König: "Er ist im Hause Makirs, des Sohnes Ammiels, zu Lodebar."

And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of 'Ammiel, in Lo-debar.

5 Da sandte König David hin und ließ ihn aus dem Hause des Ammielsohnes Makir aus Lodebar holen.

And king David sent, and had him taken out of the house of Machir, the son of 'Ammiel, from Lo-debar.

6 So kam Mephiboset, der Sohn des Saulssohns Jonatan zu David. Er warf sich auf sein Antlitz und huldigte. Da sprach David: "Mephiboset!" Er sprach: "Hier ist dein Sklave."

And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came unto David, and he fell on his face, and bowed himself. And David said, Mephibosheth; And he answered, Here is thy servant!

7 Da sprach David zu ihm: "Fürchte nichts. Ich will dir Liebes tun wegen deines Vaters Jonatan. Ich gebe dir das ganze Grundstück deines Ahnherrn Saul zurück, und du selbst magst jederzeit an meinem Tische speisen."

And David said unto him, Fear not; for I will surely show thee kindness for the sake of Jonathan thy father, and I will restore unto thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

8 Da verneigte er sich und sprach: "Was ist dein Sklave, daß du dich einem toten Hund zuwendest, wie ich einer bin?"

And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldst turn thy regard unto such a dead dog as I am?

9 Da rief der König nach Siba, Sauls Diener, und sprach zu ihm: "Alles, was Saul und seinem ganzen Haus gehört hat, gebe ich dem Sohne deines Herrn.

Then called the king for Ziba, Saul's servant, and said unto him, all that hath pertained to Saul and to all his house have I given unto thy master's son.

10 Bestelle ihm das Land, du, deine Söhne und deine Sklaven, und heimse es ihm ein, damit das Haus deines Herrn Speise zur Zehrung habe! Deines Herrn Sohn Mephiboset soll jederzeit an meinem Tische speisen!" Siba selbst aber besaß fünfzehn Söhne und zwanzig Sklaven.

And thou shalt till for him the land, thou, and thy sons, and thy servants, and thou shalt bring in [the product], that thy master's son may have bread which he can eat; but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat continually bread at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

11 Da sprach Siba zum König: "Ganz so, wie mein Herr, der König, seinem Sklaven befiehlt, wird dein Sklave tun, obschon Mephiboset an meinem Tisch speisen könnte, wie einer der Königssöhne."

And Ziba said unto the king, In accordance with all that my Lord the king may command his servant, so will thy servant do. And Mephibosheth [said the king] shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.

12 Mephiboset aber hatte einen kleinen Sohn, namens Mika. Alle Insassen in Sibas Haus dienten Mephiboset.

And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.

13 Mephiboset nun wohnte zu Jerusalem; denn er speiste ständig an des Königs Tafel, obwohl er an beiden Beinen gelähmt war.

And Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem; for he ate continually at the king's table; and he was lame on both his feet.
