1 Im siebenundzwanzigsten Jahre des Israelkönigs Jeroboam ward des Judakönigs Amasja Sohn, Azarja, König.

In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

2 Er war sechzehn Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte zweiundfünfzig Jahre in Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Jekolja und war aus Jerusalem.

Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.

3 Er tat, was dem Herrn gefiel, ganz wie sein Vater Amasja getan hatte.

He did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.

4 Nur die Höhen waren nicht beseitigt. Noch immer opferte und räucherte das Volk auf den Höhen.

However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

5 Der Herr aber schlug den König, und er ward bis zu seinem Todestage aussätzig. Er wohnte in einem besonderen Hause. Des Königs Sohn Jotam stand dem Hause vor und richtete das Volk des Landes.

The LORD struck the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house. Jotham the king's son was over the household, judging the people of the land.

6 Ist nicht der Rest der Geschichte Azarjas und alles, was er sonst getan, im Geschichtsbuche der Könige Judas aufgezeichnet?

Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

7 Als sich Azarja zu seinen Vätern legte, begrub man ihn in der Davidsstadt bei seinen Ahnen. Und sein Sohn Jotam ward an seiner Statt König.

Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the City of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his place.

8 Im achtunddreißigsten Jahre des Judakönigs Azarja ward Jeroboams Sohn Zakarja König über Israel zu Samaria für sechs Monate.

In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria six months.

9 Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, wie seine Väter getan hatten. Er ließ nicht von des Nebatsohnes Jeroboam Sünden, zu denen er Israel verführt hatte.

He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

10 Gegen ihn verschwor sich des Jabes Sohn Sallum, schlug ihn zu Ibleam und tötete ihn. Er ward an seiner Statt König.

Then Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him and struck him down at Ibleam and put him to death, and reigned in his place.

11 Ist nicht der Rest der Geschichte Zakarjas im Geschichtsbuche der Könige Israels aufgezeichnet?

Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah, look, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

12 Dies ist des Herrn Wort, das er zu Jehu gesprochen hat: "Söhne bis ins vierte Glied sollen von dir auf Israels Thron sitzen!" Und so geschah es.

This was the word of the LORD which he spoke to Jehu, saying, "Your sons to the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel." So it came to pass.

13 Sallum, des Jabes Sohn, ward König im neununddreißigsten Jahre des Judakönigs Uzzia und regierte einen Monat zu Samaria.

Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned for a month in Samaria.

14 Da zog Menachem, des Gadis Sohn, von Tirsa heran, kam nach Samaria, schlug Sallum, des Jabes Sohn, zu Samaria und tötete ihn. So ward er an seiner Statt König.

Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and struck Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and killed him, and reigned in his place.

15 Der Rest der Geschichte Sallums und seine Verschwörung, die er anzettelte, sind ja im Buche der Geschichte der Könige Israels aufgezeichnet.

Now the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, look, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

16 Damals verwüstete Menachem Tiphsach und alles, was darin war, und seine Umgebung von Tirsa an. Denn man hatte nicht die Tore geöffnet. Er schlug alle nieder. Ihre Schwangeren aber ließ er aufschlitzen.

Then Menahem struck Tiphsah, and all who were in it, and its borders, from Tirzah: because they did not open to him, therefore he struck it; and all the women in it who were with child he ripped up.

17 Im neununddreißigsten Jahre des Judakönigs Azarja ward Menachem, des Gadis Sohn, über Israel König zu Samaria für zehn Jahre.

In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem the son of Gadi began to reign over Israel for ten years in Samaria.

18 Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel. Auch er ließ nicht von des Nebatsohnes Jeroboam Sünden, zu denen er Israel all seine Tage verführt hatte.

He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he did not depart all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

19 Da kam der Assyrerkönig Phul in das Land. Und Menachem gab dem Phul tausend Talente Silber, daß seine Hand mit ihm sei, um die Herrschaft in seiner Hand zu festigen.

There came against the land Pul the king of Assyria; and Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

20 Und Menachem legte das Silber auf Israel um, auf alle vermöglichen Leute, um es dem Assyrerkönig zu geben, fünfzig Ringe auf jeden. Da zog der Assyrerkönig ab. Er blieb nicht länger dort im Lande.

Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and did not stay there in the land.

22 Menachem legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und sein Sohn Pekachja ward an seiner Statt König.

Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his place.

23 Im fünfzigsten Jahre des Judakönigs Azarja ward Pekachja, Menachems Sohn, König über Israel zu Samaria für zwei Jahre.

In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria for two years.

24 Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel. Er ließ nicht von des Nebatsohnes Jeroboam Sünden, zu denen er Israel verführt hatte.

He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

25 Da verschwor sich gegen ihn Pekach, Remaljas Sohn, sein Adjutant, und schlug ihn zu Samaria in der Burg des Königshauses, samt fünfzig Männern von den Söhnen der Gileaditer aus Argob und Areopolis. So tötete er ihn und ward an seiner Statt König.

Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him, and struck him in Samaria, in the citadel of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his place.

26 Ist nicht der Rest der Geschichte Pekachjas und alles, was er sonst getan, im Buche der Geschichte der Könige Israels aufgeschrieben?

Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, look, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

27 Im zweiundfünfzigsten Jahre des Judakönigs Azarja ward Pekach, Remaljas Sohn, König über Israel zu Samaria für zwanzig Jahre.

In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria for twenty years.

28 Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel. Er ließ nicht von des Nebatsohnes Jeroboam Sünden, zu denen er Israel verführt hatte.

He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

29 In den Tagen Pekachs, des Königs von Israel, kam der Assyrerkönig Tiglatpileser und nahm Ijjon, Abel Bet Maaka, Janoach, Kedes, Chasor, Gilead, Galiläa und das ganze Land Naphtali und führte sie gefangen nach Assyrien.

In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel Beth Maacah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria.

30 Hosea, Elas Sohn, aber verschwor sich gegen Pekach, Remaljas Sohn, schlug ihn und tötete ihn. So ward er König an seiner Statt im zwanzigsten Jahre des Uzziasohnes Jotam.

Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and struck him, and killed him, and reigned in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

31 Ist nicht der Rest der Geschichte Pekachs und alles, was er sonst getan, im Buche der Geschichte der Könige Israels aufgeschrieben?

32 Im zweiten Jahre Pekachs, des Remaljasohnes und Königs von Israel, ward Jotam, des Judakönigs Uzzia Sohn, König.

In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.

33 Er war fünfundzwanzig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und sechzehn Jahre regierte er zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Jerusa und war die Tochter Sadoks.

He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok.

34 Er tat, was dem Herrn wohlgefiel, ganz wie sein Vater Uzzia getan hatte.

He did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD; he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

35 Nur die Höhen waren nicht abgeschafft. Noch immer opferte und räucherte das Volk auf den Höhen. Er baute das obere Tor am Hause des Herrn.

However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. He built the Upper Gate of the house of the LORD.

36 Ist nicht der Rest der Geschichte Jotams und alles, was er sonst getan, im Buche der Geschichte der Könige von Juda aufgezeichnet?

Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

37 In jenen Tagen begann der Herr, gegen Juda Arams König Resin und Pekach, Remaljas Sohn, loszulassen.

In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Aram, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

38 Als sich Jotam zu seinen Vätern legte, ward er bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt seines Vaters David begraben. Und sein Sohn Achaz ward an seiner Statt König.

Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the City of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.
