2 Korinther 7
1 Geliebteste, da wir derartige Verheißungen besitzen, so wollen wir uns von jeder fleischlichen und geistigen Befleckung rein halten und unsere Heiligkeit in Gottesfurcht vollenden.
Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2 Gebt uns Platz! Wir haben niemand Unrecht getan, niemand geschädigt noch übervorteilt.
Open your hearts to us. We wronged no one. We corrupted no one. We took advantage of no one.
3 Nicht um euch zu verdammen, sage ich dies; sagte ich eben doch schon, daß ihr in unserem Herzen auf Tod und Leben mit uns verbunden seid.
I say this not to condemn you, for I have said before, that you are in our hearts to die together and live together.
4 Ich bin euch gegenüber voll Freimut, voll Stolz bin ich über euch. Ich bin auch voll des Trostes; ich fließe über vor lauter Freude bei all unserer Bedrängnis.
Great is my boldness of speech toward you. Great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I overflow with joy in all our affliction.
5 Als wir nämlich nach Mazedonien gekommen waren, da hatte unser Leib keine Ruhe, nur allerlei Bedrängnis: von außen Kämpfe und im Innern Furcht.
For even when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side. Fightings were outside. Fear was inside.
6 Doch Gott, der die Gebeugten tröstet, hat uns getröstet durch die Ankunft des Titus.
Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
7 Und nicht allein durch seine Ankunft, viel mehr noch durch den Trost, den er bei euch erfahren hat. Berichtete er uns doch von eurer Sehnsucht, von eurer Trauer, eurem Eifer meinetwegen, was meine Freude noch vermehrte.
and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you, while he told us of your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced still more.
8 Habe ich in meinem Brief euch also auch betrübt, so reut es mich doch nicht, selbst wenn es mich auch retten wollte. Ich sehe ja, daß jener Brief euch betrübt hat, wenn auch nur für kurze Zeit.
For though I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it, though I did regret it. For I see that my letter made you sorry, though just for a while.
9 Jetzt aber freut es mich, nicht, daß ihr betrübt wurdet, vielmehr weil die Betrübnis euch zur Bekehrung geführt hat. Ihr wurdet ja betrübt, wie es Gott wohlgefällig ist, so daß ihr unseretwegen in keiner Weise Schaden leidet.
I now rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that you were made sorry to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly way, that you might suffer loss by us in nothing.
10 Bewirkt doch die gottgefällige Betrübnis Bekehrung, die heilsam ist und darum nicht bereut wird. Die Betrübnis der Welt aber wirkt den Tod.
For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death.
11 Seht doch, welchen Eifer diese gottgefällige Betrübnis in euch gewirkt hat: Entschuldigung, Bedauern, Furcht, Sehnsucht, Eifer, Sühne. In jeder Hinsicht habt ihr so bewiesen, daß ihr in dieser Sache ganz schuldlos seid.
For look at this very thing, that you were made sorry in a godly way. What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what vindication. In everything you proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.
12 Wenn ich euch also geschrieben habe, geschah es nicht dem zuleid, der jenes Unrecht tat, noch dem zulieb, der dieses Unrecht erlitten hat, vielmehr damit euer Eifer unseretwegen unter euch vor Gott sich offenbare.
So although I wrote to you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be revealed in you in the sight of God.
13 Und darum sind wir auch getröstet worden. Bei unserem Trost aber freuten wir uns noch viel mehr darüber, wie sich Titus freut, daß seine Seele von euch allen erquickt ward.
Therefore we have been comforted. In our comfort we rejoiced the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.
14 Wenn ich mich eurer irgendwie vor ihm je rühmte, so bin ich nicht zuschanden worden. Wie alles, was wir zu euch sagten, Wahrheit war, so ist dem Titus gegenüber unser Rühmen gleichfalls wahr geworden.
For if in anything I have boasted to him on your behalf, I was not disappointed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth.
15 Sein Herz ist euch nur noch mehr gewogen in der Erinnerung an den Gehorsam von euch allen, wie ihr ihn mit Furcht und Zittern aufgenommen habt.
His affection is more abundantly toward you, while he remembers all of your obedience, how with fear and trembling you received him.
16 Ich freue mich, daß ich in allem mich auf euch verlassen kann.
I rejoice that in everything I am of good courage concerning you.
