2 Chronik 9
1 Auch die Königin von Saba hatte den Ruhm über Salomo vernommen. So kam sie nach Jerusalem, Salomo mit Rätseln zu prüfen, mit sehr großem Gefolge und mit Kamelen, beladen mit Spezereien und Gold in Menge und Edelsteinen. So kam sie zu Salomo. Da besprach sie mit ihm alles, was sie auf dem Herzen hatte.
And the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, and came to Jerusalem to prove Solomon with enigmas; with a very great train, and camels that bore spices and gold in great abundance, and precious stones; and she came to Solomon, and spoke with him of all that was in her heart.
2 Und Salomo gab ihr Antwort auf alle ihre Fragen. Nichts war Salomo verborgen, das er ihr nicht beantwortet hätte.
And Solomon explained to her all she spoke of, and there was not a thing hidden from Solomon that he did not explain to her.
3 Als die Königin von Saba die Weisheit Salomos sah, den Palast, den er erbaut,
And when the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
4 die Speisen seines Tisches, die Sitze seiner Diener, das Aufwarten seiner Bedienten, ihre Gewandung, seine Mundschenken und ihre Gewandung und sein Brandopfer, das er im Hause des Herrn darbrachte, da war sie außer sich.
and the food of his table, and the deportment of his servants, and the order of service of his attendants and their apparel, and his cupbearers and their apparel, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Jehovah, there was no more spirit in her.
5 Sie sprach zum König: "Wahrheit ist es, was ich in meinem Lande von deinen Sachen und deiner Weisheit vernommen habe.
And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thine affairs and of thy wisdom;
6 Ich habe ihren Worten nicht geglaubt, bis ich selbst gekommen bin und es dann mit eigenen Augen gesehen habe. Dabei ist mir nicht die Hälfte der Fülle deiner Weisheit gemeldet worden. Du übertriffst den Ruhm, den ich vernommen habe.
but I gave no credit to their words, until I came and mine eyes had seen; and behold, the half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: thou exceedest the report that I heard.
7 Glücklich deine Mannen! Glücklich diese deine Diener, die allzeit vor dir stehen und deine Weisheit hören!
Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, who stand continually before thee and hear thy wisdom!
8 Gepriesen der Herr, dein Gott, der an dir Wohlgefallen gefunden, um dich auf seinen Thron als König für den Herrn, deinen Gott, zu setzen! Weil dein Gott Israel liebt und es ewig bestehen lassen will, darum hat er dich über sie zum König gesetzt, um Recht und Gerechtigkeit zu üben."
Blessed be Jehovah thy God, who delighted in thee, to set thee on his throne, to be king to Jehovah thy God! Because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore did he make thee king over them, to do judgment and justice.
9 Sie gab dem König 120 Talente Gold, Spezereien in sehr großer Menge und Edelsteine. Nie hatte es solche Spezereien gegeben wie die, die Sabas Königin dem König Salomo geschenkt hatte.
And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in very great abundance, and precious stones; neither was there any such spice as that which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
10 Auch Churam und Salomos Knechte, die Gold aus Ophir holten, brachten Aloeholz und Edelsteine.
(And the servants also of Huram, and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought sandal-wood and precious stones.
11 Und der König machte aus dem Aloeholz Treppen zum Hause des Herrn und zum Königshause und Zithern und Harfen für die Sänger.
And the king made of the sandal-wood stairs for the house of Jehovah, and for the king's house, and harps and lutes for the singers. And there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.)
12 Der König Salomo aber erfüllte der Königin von Saba all ihre Wünsche, noch über das hinaus, worum sie den König gebeten hatte. Sie kehrte nun heim und zog in ihr Land mit ihren Dienern.
And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides what she had brought to the king. And she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.
13 Das Gewicht des Goldes, das für Salomo in einem Jahr einging, betrug 666 Goldtalente,
And the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,
14 außer dem, was die Kaufleute und Händler brachten. Auch alle abgabepflichtigen Könige und die Statthalter des Landes lieferten Salomo Gold und Silber.
besides [what] dealers and merchants brought, and [what] all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the country brought of gold and silver to Solomon.
15 Der König Salomo machte 200 Schilde aus geschlagenem Golde; auf jeden Schild verwendete er 600 Ring geschlagenes Gold.
And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold, — he applied six hundred [shekels] of beaten gold to one target;
16 Dazu 300 Schildchen aus geschlagenem Golde. Auf jedes Schildchen verwendete er 300 Ring geschlagenes Gold. Und der König tat sie in das Libanonwaldhaus.
and three hundred shields of beaten gold, — he applied three hundred [shekels] of gold to one shield; and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
17 Ferner machte der König einen großen Elfenbeinthron und überzog ihn mit reinem Golde.
And the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold;
18 Sechs Stufen hatte der Thron und eine Thronsessellehne. Sie waren mit Gold gefaßt, ebenso die Armlehnen auf beiden Seiten des Sitzplatzes. Und zwei Löwen standen neben den Lehnen.
and the throne had six steps, with a footstool of gold fastened to the throne; and there were arms on each side at the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the arms;
19 Zwölf Löwen standen dort auf den sechs Stufen zu beiden Seiten. Solches ward für kein anderes Königreich gemacht.
and twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.
20 Alle Trinkgefäße des Königs Salomo waren aus Gold und alle Geräte des Libanonwaldhauses von feinem Gold. Silber galt in Salomos Tagen für nichts.
And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of precious gold: silver was not of the least account in the days of Solomon.
21 Denn der König besaß Schiffe, die mit Churams Knechten nach Tarsis fuhren. Alle drei Jahre einmal kamen die Tarsisschiffe und brachten Gold und Silber, Elfenbein, Affen und Pfaue.
For the king's ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram: once in three years came the ships of Tarshish, bringing gold and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
22 So übertraf der König Salomo alle Könige der Erde an Reichtum und Weisheit.
And king Solomon was greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.
23 Und alle Könige der Erde suchten Salomos Anblick, um seine Weisheit zu hören, die ihm Gott ins Herz gelegt hatte.
And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
24 Sie brachten jeder seine Gabe, silberne und goldene Geräte, Gewänder, Waffen und Spezereien, Rosse und Maultiere, Jahr für Jahr.
And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver and vessels of gold, and clothing, armour, and spices, horses and mules, a rate year by year.
25 Und Salomo besaß 4.000 Gespanne, Rosse und Wagen und 12.000 Reiter. Er legte sie in die Wagenstädte und in die Umgebung des Königs nach Jerusalem.
And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; and he placed them in the chariot-cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
26 Und er war Herrscher über alle Könige vom Strome bis zum Philisterland und bis zur Grenze Ägyptens.
And he ruled over all the kings from the river as far as the land of the Philistines, and up to the border of Egypt.
27 Und der König machte das Silber zu Jerusalem den Steinen gleich und die Zedern gleich den Maulbeerbäumen in der Niederung.
And the king made silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he as the sycamores that are in the lowland for abundance.
28 Man führte Rosse für Salomo aus Ägypten und aus allen Ländern ein.
And they brought to Solomon horses out of Egypt, and out of all lands.
29 Ist nicht Salomos übrige Geschichte, die frühere und die spätere, aufgeschrieben in der Geschichte des Propheten Natan, in der Weissagung des Siloniten Achia und in der Offenbarung des Sehers Jedo an Nebats Sohn Jeroboam?
And the rest of the acts of Solomon first and last, are they not written in the words of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?
30 Salomo herrschte zu Jerusalem über ganz Israel vierzig Jahre.
And Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
31 Alsdann legte sich Salomo zu seinen Vätern, und man begrub ihn in seines Vaters David Stadt. Und sein Sohn Rechabeam ward König an seiner Statt.
And Solomon slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David his father; and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
