2 Chronik 24
1 Joas war sieben Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte in Jerusalem vierzig Jahre. Seine Mutter hieß Siba und war aus Beerseba.
[was] a son of Seven years Joash when became king he and forty year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his [was] Zibiah from Beer Sheba.
2 Joas tat, was dem Herrn gefiel, solange der Priester Jojada lebte.
And he did Joash the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh all [the] days of Jehoiada the priest.
3 Und Jojada verheiratete ihn mit zwei Weibern, und er zeugte Söhne und Töchter.
And he took for him Jehoiada wives two and he fathered sons and daughters.
4 Danach beschloß Joas, das Haus des Herrn zu erneuern.
And it was after this it was with [the] heart of Joash to renew [the] house of Yahweh.
5 Er versammelte die Priester und Leviten und sprach zu ihnen: "Geht in die Städte Judas hinaus und sammelt von ganz Israel Geld, um Jahr für Jahr das Haus eures Gottes auszubessern! Beeilt euch dabei!" Aber die Leviten beeilten sich nicht.
And he assembled the priests and the Levites and he said to them go out to [the] cities of Judah and collect from all Israel money to repair - [the] house of God your as often as a year in a year and you you will do quickly the matter and not they acted quickly the Levites.
6 Da berief der König das Oberhaupt Jojada und sprach zu ihm: "Warum hältst du nicht die Leviten an, daß sie aus Juda und Jerusalem die Steuer einbringen, die Moses, der Diener des Herrn, und die Gemeinde Israel für das Zeugniszelt auferlegt hat?"
And he summoned the king Jehoiada the chief and he said to him why? not have you required on the Levites to bring from Judah and from Jerusalem [the] tax of Moses [the] servant of Yahweh and of the assembly of Israel to [the] tent of the testimony.
7 Denn Atalja, die ruchlos an den Kindern gehandelt, hatte das Gotteshaus verfallen lassen und sogar alle heiligen Gaben für das Haus des Herrn auf die Baale verwendet.
For Athaliah the wickedness sons her they had broken into [the] house of God and also all [the] holy things of [the] house of Yahweh they had used for the Baals.
8 Hierauf machte man auf des Königs Befehl eine Lade und stellte sie vor das Tor im Hause des Herrn hinaus.
And he said the king and they made a chest one and they put it at [the] gate of [the] house of Yahweh [the] outside towards.
9 Dann rief man in Juda und Jerusalem aus, man solle dem Herrn die Steuer bringen, die der Diener Gottes, Moses, in der Wüste Israel auferlegt hatte.
And they made a proclamation in Judah and in Jerusalem to bring to Yahweh [the] tax of Moses [the] servant of God on Israel in the wilderness.
10 Da freuten sich alle Obersten und das ganze Volk. Sie brachten sie und warfen sie in die Lade, bis sie voll war.
And they were glad all the officials and all the people and they brought and they threw to the chest until finished.
11 Die Lade brachte man jedesmal durch die Leviten vor das Amt des Königs, wenn man sah, daß viel Geld darin war. Dann kamen des Königs Schreiber und der Beamte des obersten Priesters und leerten die Lade. Dann trugen sie sie wieder an ihren Ort. So taten sie Tag für Tag und sammelten Geld in Menge.
And it was at [the] time [when] someone brought the chest to [the] overseer of the king by [the] hand of the Levites and just as saw they that [was] much the money and he came [the] scribe of the king and [the] officer of [the] priest of the head so they may pour out the chest and they took it and they returned it to place its thus they did to a day - in a day and they gathered money to abundance.
12 Der König und Jojada gaben es den Geschäftsführern bei der Arbeit am Hause des Herrn. Diese dingten Steinhauer und Zimmerleute, um das Haus des Herrn zu erneuern, dazu Eisen- und Kupferschmiede, um des Herrn Haus auszubessern.
And he gave it the king and Jehoiada to [the] doer of [the] work of [the] service of [the] house of Yahweh and they were hiring stone cutters and craftsmen to renew [the] house of Yahweh and also craftsmen of iron and bronze to repair [the] house of Yahweh.
13 Die Geschäftsführer sorgten, daß durch sie die Ausbesserung vorwärtsging. So stellten sie das Gotteshaus in seiner Ausdehnung her und setzten es in guten Stand.
And they worked [the] doers of the work and it went up [the] repair for the work by hand their and they erected [the] house of God on measurement its and they strengthened it.
14 Als sie fertig waren, brachten sie dem König und Jojada das übrige Geld. Daraus machte man Geräte für das Haus des Herrn, Geräte für den Dienst und für die Opferung und Schalen, goldene und silberne Geräte. Solange Jojada lebte, brachte man beständig im Haus des Herrn Brandopfer dar.
And just as had finished they they brought before the king and Jehoiada [the] remainder of the money and someone made it articles for [the] house of Yahweh articles of service and offering up and pans and articles of gold and silver and they were offering up burnt offerings in [the] house of Yahweh continually all [the] days of Jehoiada.
15 Jojada aber ward alt und lebenssatt, dann starb er. Bei seinem Tode war er hundertdreißig Jahre alt.
And he became old Jehoiada and he was satisfied days and he died a son of one hundred and thirty year[s] at death his.
16 Man begrub ihn in der Davidsstadt bei den Königen. Denn er hatte Gutes getan an Israel und gegen Gott und an seinem Hause.
And people buried him in [the] city of David with the kings for he had done good in Israel and with God and house his.
17 Nach Jojadas Tod aber kamen die Fürsten Judas und warfen sich vor dem König nieder. Und der König hörte auf sie.
And after [the] death of Jehoiada they came [the] leaders of Judah and they bowed down to the king then he listened the king to them.
18 Und so verließen sie das Haus des Herrn, des Gottes ihrer Väter, und dienten den Ascheren und den Bildern. Da kam ein Zorn über Juda und Jerusalem wegen dieser ihrer Versündigung.
And they abandoned [the] house of Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their and they served the Asherah poles and the idols and it was wrath towards Judah and Jerusalem in guilt their this.
19 So schickte er ihnen Propheten, sie zum Herrn zurückzuführen. Und sie verwarnten sie. Aber jene hörten nicht darauf.
And he sent among them prophets to bring back them to Yahweh and they warned them and not they gave ear.
20 Ein Gottesgeist aber hatte den Zakarja eingehüllt, den Sohn des Priesters Jojada. Er trat vor das Volk und sprach zu ihm: "Also spricht Gott: 'Warum habt ihr des Herrn Gebote übertreten und bringt euch so um euer Glück? Weil ihr den Herrn verlassen, verläßt er euch.'"
And [the] spirit of God it clothed Zechariah [the] son of Jehoiada the priest and he stood above the people and he said to them thus - he says God why? [are] you transgressing [the] commandments of Yahweh and not you will prosper for you have forsaken Yahweh and he has forsaken you.
21 Da scharten sie sich gegen ihn und steinigten ihn auf des Königs Befehl im Vorhof des Hauses des Herrn.
And they conspired on him and they stoned him stone[s] by [the] command of the king in [the] courtyard of [the] house of Yahweh.
22 König Joas aber hatte nicht mehr der Liebe gedacht, die sein Vater Jojada ihm erwiesen, sondern tötete dessen Sohn. Dieser aber hatte sterbend gesprochen: "Der Herr sehe es und ahnde es!"
And not he remembered Joash the king the loyalty which he had done Jehoiada father his with him and he killed son his and when dying he he said may he see Yahweh and may he require.
23 Um die Jahreswende zog nun gegen ihn das Heer der Aramäer. Sie kamen nach Juda und Jerusalem und tilgten alle Fürsten des Volkes aus dem Volke und sandten ihre ganze Beute an den König von Damaskus.
And it was - to [the] circuit of the year it came up on him [the] army of Aram and they came to Judah and Jerusalem and they destroyed all [the] leaders of the people from [the] people and all booty their they sent to [the] king of Damascus.
24 Das Aramäerheer kam zwar mit weniger Mannschaft. Aber der Herr gab in ihre Hand eine überaus große Schar, weil sie den Herrn, ihrer Väter Gott, verlassen hatten. So vollzogen sie an Joas das Strafgericht.
For with smallness of men they came - [the] army of Aram and Yahweh he gave in hand their an army for multitude exceedingly for they had forsaken Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their and with Joash they did judgment.
25 Sie zogen nun von ihm ab. Aber sie ließen ihn schwerkrank zurück. Da verschworen sich seine Diener gegen ihn wegen der Blutschuld an dem Sohne des Priesters Jojada und ermordeten ihn auf seinem Lager. So starb er, und man begrub ihn in der Davidsstadt, aber nicht in den Königsgräbern.
And when went they from him for they had left him (with sicknesses *Q(k)*) great they conspired on him own servants his in [the] blood of [the] sons of Jehoiada the priest and they killed him on bed his and he died and they buried him in [the] city of David and not they buried him in [the] graves of the kings.
26 Die sich gegen ihn verschworen hatten, waren Zabad, der Sohn der Ammoniterin Simat, und Jozabad, der Sohn der Moabiterin Simrit.
And these [are] the [ones who] conspired on him Zabad [the] son of Shimeath the Ammonite [woman] and Jehozabad [the] son of Shimrith the Moabite [woman].
27 Seine Söhne und die Schwere des Angriffs gegen ihn, sowie die Bauarbeit am Gotteshause sind in der Auslegung des Buches der Könige aufgezeichnet. An seiner Statt ward sein Sohn Amasjahu König.
And sons his (it will be numerous of *Q(K)*) the oracle on him and [the] founding of [the] house of God there they [are] written on [the] record of [the] scroll of the kings and he became king Amaziah son his in place of him.
