1 Benhadad, Arams König, aber zog sein ganzes Heer zusammen. Zweiunddreißig Könige waren bei ihm samt Rossen und Wagen. So zog er heran, schloß Samaria ein und berannte es.
and Ben-hadad Ben-hadad king Syria to gather [obj] all strength: soldiers his and thirty and two king with him and horse and chariot and to ascend: rise and to confine upon Samaria and to fight in/on/with her
2 Er sandte zu Achab, Israels König, Boten in die Stadt
and to send: depart messenger to(wards) Ahab king Israel [the] city [to] and to say to/for him thus to say Ben-hadad Ben-hadad
3 und ließ ihm sagen: "So spricht Benhadad: 'Dein Silber und Gold ist mein. Doch deine Weiber und deine tüchtigen Söhne sollen dir verbleiben.'"

4 Da antwortete ihm Israels König: "Nach deinem Worte, mein Herr und König! Dein bin ich und alles, was mein ist."
and to answer king Israel and to say like/as word: speaking your lord my [the] king to/for you I and all which to/for me
5 Die Boten aber kamen wieder und sprachen: "So spricht Benhadad: 'Ich habe dir entboten: Dein Silber und Gold, aber auch deine Weiber und deine Söhne sollst du mir geben.
and to return: again [the] messenger and to say thus to say Ben-hadad Ben-hadad to/for to say for to send: depart to(wards) you to/for to say silver: money your and gold your and woman: wife your and son: child your to/for me to give: give
6 Wenn ich morgen um diese Zeit meine Diener zu dir sende, durchsuchen sie dein Haus und deiner Diener Häuser. Dann nehmen sie alles, was dir teuer ist, und tragen es fort.'"
for if: except like/as time tomorrow to send: depart [obj] servant/slave my to(wards) you and to search [obj] house: home your and [obj] house: home servant/slave your and to be all desire eye: appearance your to set: take in/on/with hand: themselves their and to take: take
7 Da berief Israels König alle Ältesten des Landes und sprach: "Erkennet und sehet, daß dieser Böses vorhat! Denn er schickt jetzt zu mir wegen meiner Weiber und meiner Söhne. Wäre es bloß Silber und Gold, dann versagte ich es ihm nicht."
and to call: call to king Israel to/for all old: elder [the] land: country/planet and to say to know please and to see: see for distress: harm this to seek for to send: depart to(wards) me to/for woman: wife my and to/for son: child my and to/for silver: money my and to/for gold my and not to withhold from him
8 Da sprachen alle Ältesten und das ganze Volk zu ihm: "Hör nicht darauf und willige nicht ein!"
and to say to(wards) him all [the] old: elder and all [the] people not to hear: hear and not be willing
9 Da sprach er zu Benhadads Boten: "Sagt meinem Herrn, dem König: 'Alles, was du zuerst deinem Knecht entboten hast, will ich tun. Aber dies kann ich nicht tun.'" Die Boten gingen nun und brachten ihm den Bescheid.

10 Da sandte Benhadad zu ihm und ließ sagen: "Die Götter mögen mir dies und das tun, wenn der Schutt Samarias allen meinen Leuten bei mir die hohlen Hände füllen könnte!"
and to send: depart to(wards) him Ben-hadad Ben-hadad and to say thus to make: do [emph?] to/for me God and thus to add if to suffice dust Samaria to/for handful to/for all [the] people which in/on/with foot my
11 Da erwiderte Israels König und sprach: "Meldet! Wer sich erst wappnet, rühme sich nicht schon gleich dem, der die Rüstung wieder ablegt!"
and to answer king Israel and to say to speak: speak not to boast: boast to gird like/as to open
12 Er hörte diese Antwort, als er eben mit den Königen in den Zelten zechte. Da sprach er zu seinen Dienern: "Greift an!" Da griffen sie die Stadt an.
and to be like/as to hear: hear [obj] [the] word [the] this and he/she/it to drink he/she/it and [the] king in/on/with booth and to say to(wards) servant/slave his to set: take and to set: take upon [the] city
13 Da trat ein Prophet zu Israels König Achab und sprach: "So spricht der Herr: 'Siehst du diesen ganzen großen Haufen? Ich gebe ihn heute in deine Hand, damit du erkennest, daß ich der Herr bin.'"
and behold prophet one to approach: approach to(wards) Ahab king Israel and to say thus to say LORD to see: see [obj] all [the] crowd [the] great: large [the] this look! I to give: give him in/on/with hand: power your [the] day: today and to know for I LORD
14 Da sprach Achab: "Durch wen?" Er sprach: "So spricht der Herr: 'Durch die Jungmannschaft der Landvögte.'" Er sprach: "Wer soll den Kampf eröffnen?" Er sagte: "Du."
and to say Ahab in/on/with who? and to say thus to say LORD in/on/with youth ruler [the] province and to say who? to bind [the] battle and to say you(m. s.)
15 So musterte er die Jungmannschaft der Landvögte. Es waren 232. Hernach musterte er das ganze Volk, alle Israeliten, 7.000.
and to reckon: list [obj] youth ruler [the] province and to be hundred two and thirty and after them to reckon: list [obj] all [the] people all son: descendant/people Israel seven thousand
16 Sie rückten nun am Mittag aus. Benhadad zechte eben in den Lauben bis zur Trunkenheit, er und die zweiunddreißig Könige, die ihm beistanden.
and to come out: come in/on/with midday and Ben-hadad Ben-hadad to drink drunken in/on/with booth he/she/it and [the] king thirty and two king to help [obj] him
17 So rückte die Jungmannschaft der Landvögte zuerst aus. Da sandte man zu Benhadad und ließ ihm melden: "Aus Samaria rückt Mannschaft aus."
and to come out: come youth ruler [the] province in/on/with first and to send: depart Ben-hadad Ben-hadad and to tell to/for him to/for to say human to come out: come from Samaria
18 Er sprach: "Ziehen sie in Frieden aus, dann fangt sie lebendig! Ziehen sie aber zum Kampf aus, dann fangt sie auch lebendig!"
and to say if to/for peace to come out: come to capture them alive and if to/for battle to come out: come alive to capture them
19 Jene aber zogen aus der Stadt, der Landvögte Jungmannschaft und das Heer, das ihnen nachzog.
and these to come out: come from [the] city youth ruler [the] province and [the] strength: soldiers which after them
20 Da schlugen sie, jeder seinen Mann. Die Aramäer flohen, und Israel verfolgte sie. Arams König Benhadad aber entrann auf einem Reitpferd.
and to smite man: anyone man his and to flee Syria and to pursue them Israel and to escape Ben-hadad Ben-hadad king Syria upon horse and horseman
21 Dann zog Israels König aus und schlug die Rosse und die Wagen. So schlug er die Aramäer gewaltig.
and to come out: come king Israel and to smite [obj] [the] horse and [obj] [the] chariot and to smite in/on/with Syria wound great: large
22 Da trat der Prophet zum König von Israel und sprach zu ihm: "Wohlan! Verstärke dich und siehe wohl zu, was du tun willst! Denn im nächsten Jahr zieht Arams König wieder gegen dich."
and to approach: approach [the] prophet to(wards) king Israel and to say to/for him to go: come! to strengthen: strengthen and to know and to see: examine [obj] which to make: do for to/for turn [the] year king Syria to ascend: rise upon you
23 Nun sprachen die Diener des Königs von Aram zu ihm: "Ihre Götter sind Berggötter. Deshalb haben sie uns besiegt. Kämpften wir aber in der Ebene mit ihnen, dann besiegten wir sie sicherlich.
and servant/slave king Syria to say to(wards) him God mountain: mount God their upon so to strengthen: strengthen from us and but to fight with them in/on/with plain if: surely yes not to strengthen: strengthen from them
24 Tu dies also: Entsetze die Könige, jeden seiner Stellung, und ersetze sie durch Statthalter!
and [obj] [the] word: thing [the] this to make: do to turn aside: remove [the] king man: anyone from place his and to set: put governor underneath: instead them
25 Dann sollst du dir selbst ein Heer zusammenbringen wie das Heer, das dir abhanden gekommen, und Rosse und Wagen wie jene früheren Dann wollen wir sie in der Ebene bekämpfen. Wir werden sie sicherlich besiegen." Und er hörte auf ihren Rat und tat so.
and you(m. s.) to count to/for you strength: soldiers like/as strength: soldiers [the] to fall: fall from [obj] you and horse like/as horse and chariot like/as chariot and to fight [obj] them in/on/with plain if: surely yes not to strengthen: strengthen from them and to hear: hear to/for voice their and to make: do so
26 Im nächsten Jahre musterte Benhadad die Aramäer. Dann zog er nach Aphek zum Kampf mit Israel hinauf.
and to be to/for turn [the] year and to reckon: list Ben-hadad Ben-hadad [obj] Syria and to ascend: rise Aphek [to] to/for battle with Israel
27 Auch die Israeliten wurden gemustert und mit Mundvorrat versorgt. Dann zogen sie jenen entgegen. Die Israeliten aber lagerten ihnen gegenüber wie ein paar erschöpfte Ziegen. Die Aramäer aber füllten das Land.

28 Da trat der Gottesmann herzu und sprach zum König von Israel und sagte: "So spricht der Herr: 'Weil die von Aram ausgesagt, ein Berggott sei der Herr, doch nicht ein Gott der Täler, so gebe ich in deine Hand den ganzen großen Haufen hier, auf daß ihr seht: Ich bin der Herr.'"
and to approach: approach man [the] God and to say to(wards) king Israel and to say thus to say LORD because which to say Syria God mountain: mount LORD and not God valley he/she/it and to give: give [obj] all [the] crowd [the] great: large [the] this in/on/with hand: power your and to know for I LORD
29 So lagerten die einen den anderen sieben Tage gegenüber. Am siebten Tage aber begann die Schlacht, und die Israeliten schlugen von den Aramäern 100.000 Mann Fußvolk an einem Tage.
and to camp these before these seven day and to be in/on/with day [the] seventh and to present: come [the] battle and to smite son: descendant/people Israel [obj] Syria hundred thousand on foot in/on/with day one
30 Die übrigen aber flohen nach Aphek in die Stadt. Da fiel die Mauer, als die übriggebliebenen 27.000 Mann darin waren. Auch Benhadad war geflohen; so kam er in die Stadt und verbarg sich in einem Schlupfwinkel.
and to flee [the] to remain Aphek [to] to(wards) [the] city and to fall: fall [the] wall upon twenty and seven thousand man [the] to remain and Ben-hadad Ben-hadad to flee and to come (in): come to(wards) [the] city chamber in/on/with chamber
31 Da sprachen seine Diener zu ihm: "Wir haben gehört, daß die Könige des Hauses Israel milde Könige seien. Wir wollen härene Gewänder um unsere Hüften legen und Stricke an unsere Häupter und so zum König von Israel hinausgehen. Vielleicht läßt er dich leben."
and to say to(wards) him servant/slave his behold please to hear: hear for king house: household Israel for king kindness they(masc.) to set: put please sackcloth in/on/with loin our and cord in/on/with head our and to come out: come to(wards) king Israel perhaps to live [obj] soul: life your
32 So legten sie um ihre Hüften härene Gewänder und an ihre Häupter Stricke, gingen zum König von Israel und sprachen: "Dein Sklave Benhadad läßt sagen: 'Laß mich leben!'" Da sprach er: "Lebt er noch? Er ist mein Bruder."
and to gird sackcloth in/on/with loin their and cord in/on/with head their and to come (in): come to(wards) king Israel and to say servant/slave your Ben-hadad Ben-hadad to say to live please soul: life my and to say still he alive brother: compatriot my he/she/it
33 Die Leute aber faßten dies als gutes Vorzeichen auf. Sie griffen es von ihm schleunigst auf und sprachen. "Dein Bruder ist Benhadad?" Er sprach: "Geht hin und holt ihn!" Da ging Benhadad zu ihm hinaus. Und er ließ ihn auf seinen Wagen steigen.
and [the] human to divine and to hasten and to catch from him and to say brother: compatriot your Ben-hadad Ben-hadad and to say to come (in): come to take: bring him and to come out: come to(wards) him Ben-hadad Ben-hadad and to ascend: rise him upon [the] chariot
34 Da sprach er zu ihm: "Die Städte, die mein Vater deinem Vater weggenommen, will ich zurückgeben. Du darfst dir auch in Damaskus Bazare anlegen, wie mein Vater es in Samaria getan. Willst du mich auf Grund eines solchen Vertrages freilassen?" Da schloß er einen Vertrag mit ihm und ließ ihn frei.
and to say to(wards) him [the] city which to take: take father my from with father your to return: rescue and outside to set: make to/for you in/on/with Damascus like/as as which to set: make father my in/on/with Samaria and I in/on/with covenant to send: let go you and to cut: make(covenant) to/for him covenant and to send: let go him
35 Da sprach einer von den Prophetensöhnen zu seinem Gefährten auf des Herrn Geheiß: "Schlage mich!" Jener aber weigerte sich, ihn zu schlagen.
and man one from son: child [the] prophet to say to(wards) neighbor his in/on/with word LORD to smite me please and to refuse [the] man to/for to smite him
36 Da sprach dieser zu ihm: "Weil du dem Befehle des Herrn nicht gehorchst, töte dich ein Löwe, wenn du von mir weggehst." Und als er von ihm ging, traf ihn ein Löwe und schlug ihn.
and to say to/for him because which not to hear: obey in/on/with voice LORD look! you to go: went from with me and to smite you [the] lion and to go: went from beside him and to find him [the] lion and to smite him
37 Dann traf er einen anderen Mann und sprach: "Schlage mich!" Und dieser schlug ihn wund.
and to find man another and to say to smite me please and to smite him [the] man to smite and to wound
38 Nun ging der Prophet hin und stellte sich dem König in den Weg. Dabei machte er sich unkenntlich durch eine Binde über den Augen.
and to go: went [the] prophet and to stand: stand to/for king (upon *LAB(H)*) [the] way: road and to search in/on/with bandage upon eye his
39 Als nun der König vorüberkam, schrie er den König an und sprach: "Dein Sklave war mit in die Schlacht gezogen. Da trat ein Mann heraus, brachte mir einen Mann und sprach: 'Bewache diesen Mann! Wenn er vermißt wird, dann haftet dein Leben für das seinige, oder du mußt ein Talent Silber bezahlen.'
and to be [the] king to pass and he/she/it to cry to(wards) [the] king and to say servant/slave your to come out: come in/on/with entrails: among [the] battle and behold man to turn aside: turn aside and to come (in): bring to(wards) me man and to say to keep: guard [obj] [the] man [the] this if to reckon: missing to reckon: missing and to be soul: life your underneath: instead soul: life his or talent silver: money to weigh
40 Nun hatte dein Sklave bald da, bald dort zu tun. Da war jener nicht mehr da." Da sprach der König von Israel zu ihm: "Da hast du dein Urteil selbst gefällt."
and to be servant/slave your to make: do here/thus and here/thus and he/she/it nothing he and to say to(wards) him king Israel so justice: judgement your you(m. s.) to decide
41 Nun riß jener eilends die Binde von seinen Augen, und der König erkannte, daß er einer der Propheten war.
and to hasten and to turn aside: remove [obj] [the] bandage (from upon *Q(k)*) eye his and to recognize [obj] him king Israel for from [the] prophet he/she/it
42 Da sprach jener zu ihm: "So spricht der Herr: 'Weil du den mir verfallenen Mann freigelassen, so sei dein Leben für sein Leben, dein Volk für sein Volk!'"
and to say to(wards) him thus to say LORD because to send: let go [obj] man devoted thing my from hand: power and to be soul: life your underneath: instead soul: life his and people your underneath: instead people his
43 Mißmutig und verstört ging der König von Israel in sein Haus. So kam er nach Samaria.
and to go: went king Israel upon house: palace his stubborn and vexed and to come (in): come Samaria [to]
