1 Korinther 1

1 Paulus, berufen zum Apostel Jesu Christi durch den Willen Gottes, und Sosthenes, der Bruder,

Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, through God’s will, —and Sosthenes the brother, —

2 an die Gemeinde Gottes in Korinth. An die, die in Christus Jesus geheiligt und als Heilige berufen sind, samt allen, die den Namen unseres Herrn Jesus Christus anrufen an jedem Orte, bei ihnen und bei uns.

Unto the assembly of God which is in Corinth, sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, —with all who call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, in every place, —their Lord and ours:

3 Gnade werde euch zuteil und Friede von Gott, unserem Vater, und von dem Herrn Jesus Christus!

Favour unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and Lord Jesus Christ.

4 Ich danke immerwährend meinem Gott um euretwillen wegen der Gnade Gottes, die euch verliehen ward in Christus Jesus.

I give thanks unto my God, at all times, concerning you, by reason of the favour of God given unto you in Christ Jesus, —

5 Durch ihn seid ihr in allem reich geworden; in jedem Wort und in jeglicher Erkenntnis.

That, in everything, ye have been enriched in him—in all discourse and in all knowledge;

6 So machtvoll ist das Zeugnis Christi unter euch geworden,

Even as, the witness of the Christ, hath been confirmed in you,

7 daß ihr an keiner Gnadengabe Mangel habt, die ihr auf die Offenbarung unseres Herrn Jesus Christus wartet.

So that ye come short in no gift of favour, —ardently awaiting the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ:

8 Er wird euch bis ans Ende stärken, daß ihr am Tage der Wiederkunft unseres Herrn Jesus Christus ohne Tadel seid.

Who will also confirm you unto the end, unaccusable in the day of our Lord Jesus [Christ]:

9 Treu ist ja Gott, durch den ihr berufen worden seid zur Gemeinschaft mit seinem Sohne, unserem Herrn Jesus Christus.

Faithful, is God, through whom ye have been called into the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

10 Ich ermahne euch, liebe Brüder, im Namen unseres Herrn Jesus Christus: Führt alle dieselbe Sprache und duldet keine Spaltungen bei euch; seid vielmehr einig im gleichen Sinnen und im gleichen Denken.

But I beseech you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, —that, the same thing, ye, all, be saying, and that there be not, among you, divisions; but that ye be fitly joined together—in the same mind, and in the same judgment.

11 Von den Angehörigen der Chloe ward mir nämlich über euch, meine Brüder, mitgeteilt, daß bei euch Streitigkeiten herrschen.

For it hath been signified unto me, concerning you, my brethren, —by them who are of [the household of] Chloe, —that there are strifes among you,

12 Ich meine damit dies, daß der eine von euch sagt: "Ich halte mich an Paulus." Ein anderer: "Ich gehöre zu Apollos!" Und wieder einer: "Ich zu Kephas", oder: "Ich zu Christus."

Now I mean this, —that, each one of you, is saying—I, indeed, am of Paul, but, I, of Apollos, but, I, of Cephas, but, I, of Christ:

13 Ist Christus denn geteilt? Ist etwa Paulus für euch gekreuzigt worden; oder seid ihr auf des Paulus Namen hin getauft?

The Christ is divided! Was, Paul, crucified for you? Or, into the name of Paul, were ye immersed?

14 Gott sei Dank, daß ich niemand aus euch getauft habe als den Krispus und den Gajus.

I give thanks, that, none of you, did I immerse—save Crispus and Gaius,

15 So kann niemand sagen, daß ihr auf meinen Namen getauft seid.

Lest any should say—into my own name, I immersed:

16 Doch, auch das Haus des Stephanas habe ich getauft; sonst wüßte ich aber niemand mehr, den ich getauft hätte.

Yea! I immersed the house of Stephanas also, —besides, I know not whether, anyone else, I immersed.

17 Christus hat mich nämlich nicht gesandt zu taufen, vielmehr das Evangelium zu predigen, und dies nicht in geschwätziger Weisheit, sonst würde das Kreuz Christi ja seine Kraft verlieren.

For Christ sent me not, to be immersing, but to be telling the good news, —not with wisdom of discourse, lest, void should be made, the cross of the Christ.

18 Das Wort vom Kreuz ist nämlich denen Torheit, die verlorengehen, doch Gotteskraft für uns, die wir gerettet werden.

For, the discourse which concerneth the cross, unto them, indeed, who are perishing, is, foolishness; but, unto them who are being saved—unto us, it is, God’s power.

19 Steht doch geschrieben: "Vernichten will ich der Weisen Weisheit und den Verstand Verständiger verwerfen."

For it is written—I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and, the discernment of the discerning, will I set aside.

20 Wo bleibt der Weise, wo der Schriftgelehrte und wo der Wortfechter dieser Welt? Hat Gott denn nicht die Weisheit der Welt zur Torheit werden lassen? (aiōn g165)

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? (aiōn g165)

21 Nachdem die Welt Gott in der Weisheit Gottes mit ihrer Weisheit nicht erkannte, hat es Gott gefallen, gerade durch die Torheit der Predigt die, die da glauben wollen, zu retten.

For, seeing that, in the wisdom of God, the world, through its wisdom, did not get to knew God, God was well-pleased—through the foolishness of the thing proclaimed, to save them that believe.

22 Die Juden fordern Wunder, die Griechen suchen Weltweisheit,

Seeing that both, Jews for signs, do ask, and, Greeks for wisdom, do seek,

23 wir aber verkünden einen Christus, den man gekreuzigt hat: den Juden zwar ein Ärgernis, den Griechen eine Torheit,

Whereas, we, proclaim a Christ who hath been crucified, —unto Jews, indeed, an occasion of stumbling, and, unto Gentiles, foolishness;

24 doch allen, die berufen sind, ob Jude oder Grieche, Christus als Gottes Kraft und Gottes Weisheit.

But, unto the called themselves—both Jews and Greeks, Christ, God’s power, and, God’s wisdom.

25 Ist doch die Torheit Gottes weiser als die Menschen, die Schwachheit Gottes stärker als die Menschen.

Because, God’s foolish thing, is, wiser than men, and, God’s weak thing, mightier than men.

26 Meine lieben Brüder, schaut doch hin, was für Leute unter uns berufen sind. Da gibt es nicht viele, die weise sind im Sinne der Welt, nicht viele Mächtige und Vornehme.

For be looking at the calling of you, brethren, —that [there were] not many wise, according to flesh. Not many powerful, not many high-born:

27 Sondern was der Welt als töricht gilt, hat Gott erwählt, um die Weisen zu beschämen; und was die Welt als schwach bezeichnet, hat Gott erwählt, um die Starken zu beschämen,

On the contrary—the foolish things of the world, hath God chosen, that he might put to shame them who are wise, and, the weak things of the world, hath God chosen, that he might put to shame the things that are mighty,

28 und was der Welt als niedrig und verächtlich gilt, ja, was ihr gar nichts gilt, hat Gott erwählt, um das, was etwas gilt, zu nichts zu machen.

And, the low-born things of the world, and the things that are despised, hath God chosen, —[and] the things that are not, —that, the things that are, he might bring to nought;

29 So sollte kein Sterblicher vor Gott sich rühmen können.

So that no flesh should boast before God.

30 Aus ihm aber habt ihr das Sein in Christus Jesus, der uns von Gott zur Weisheit wurde, zur Rechtfertigung, Heiligung und Erlösung.

But, of him, are, ye, in Christ Jesus, who hath been made wisdom unto us, from God, —both righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31 Es sollte, wie es auch geschrieben steht, "wer sich rühmen will, im Herrn sich rühmen."

In order that, even as it is written—He that boasteth, in the Lord, let him boast.
