Psalm 73
1 Ein Psalm; von Asaph. Fürwahr, Gott ist Israel gut, denen, die reinen Herzens sind.
A Psalm for Asaph. How good is God to Israel, to the upright in heart!
2 Ich aber, wenig fehlte, so wären meine Füße abgewichen, um nichts wären ausgeglitten meine Schritte.
But my feet were almost overthrown; my goings very nearly slipped.
3 Denn ich beneidete die Übermütigen, als ich sah die Wohlfahrt der Gesetzlosen.
For I was jealous of the transgressors, beholding the tranquility of sinners.
4 Denn keine Qualen haben sie bei ihrem Tode, und wohlgenährt ist ihr Leib.
For there is no sign of reluctance in their death: and [they have] firmness under their affliction.
5 Nicht sind sie im Ungemach der Sterblichen, und mit den Menschen werden sie nicht geplagt.
They are not in the troubles of [other] men; and they shall not be scourged with [other] men.
6 Deshalb umgibt sie der Hochmut wie ein Halsgeschmeide, Gewalttat umhüllt sie wie ein Gewand.
Therefore pride has possessed them; they have clothed themselves with their injustice and ungodliness.
7 Es tritt aus dem Fett hervor ihr Auge; sie wallen über in den Einbildungen des Herzens.
Their injustice shall go forth as out of fatness: they have fulfilled their intention.
8 Sie höhnen und reden in Bosheit von Bedrückung; von oben herab reden sie.
They have taken counsel and spoken in wickedness: they have uttered unrighteousness loftily.
9 Sie setzen in den Himmel ihren Mund, und ihre Zunge wandelt auf der Erde.
They have set their mouth against heaven, and their tongue has gone through upon the earth.
10 Deshalb wendet sich hierher sein Volk, und Wasser in Fülle wird von ihnen geschlürft.
Therefore shall my people return hither: and full days shall be found with them.
11 Und sie sprechen: Wie wüßte es Gott, und wie sollte Wissen sein bei dem Höchsten?
And they said, How does God know? and is there knowledge in the Most High?
12 Siehe, diese sind Gesetzlose, und, immerdar sorglos, erwerben sie sich Vermögen.
Behold, these [are] the sinners, and they that prosper always: they have possessed wealth.
13 Fürwahr, vergebens habe ich mein Herz gereinigt, und in Unschuld gewaschen meine Hände.
And I said, Verily in vain have I justified my heart, and washed my hands in innocency.
14 Da ich ja geplagt ward den ganzen Tag, und alle Morgen meine Züchtigung da war.
For I was plagued all the day, and my reproof [was] every morning.
15 Wenn ich gesagt hätte: Ich will ebenso reden, siehe, so wäre ich treulos gewesen dem Geschlecht deiner Söhne.
If I said, I will speak thus; behold, I [should] have broken covenant with the generation of thy children.
16 Da dachte ich nach, um dieses zu begreifen: eine mühevolle Arbeit war es in meinen Augen;
And I undertook to understand this, [but] it is too hard for me,
17 bis ich hineinging in die Heiligtümer Gottes und jener Ende gewahrte.
until I go into the sanctuary of God; [and so] understand the latter end.
18 Fürwahr, auf schlüpfrige Örter setzest du sie, stürzest sie hin zu Trümmern.
Surely thou hast appointed [judgments] to them because of their crafty dealings: thou hast cast them down when they were lifted up.
19 Wie sind sie so plötzlich verwüstet, haben ein Ende genommen, sind umgekommen durch Schrecknisse!
How have they become desolate! suddenly they have failed: they have perished because of their iniquity.
20 Wie einen Traum nach dem Erwachen wirst du, Herr, beim Aufwachen ihr Bild verachten.
As the dream of one awakening, O Lord, in thy city thou wilt despise their image.
21 Als mein Herz sich erbitterte und es mich in meinen Nieren stach,
For my heart has rejoiced, and my reins have been gladdened.
22 da war ich dumm und wußte nichts; ein Tier war ich bei dir.
But I [was] vile and knew not: I became brutish before thee.
23 Doch ich bin stets bei dir: du hast mich erfaßt bei meiner rechten Hand;
Yet I am continually with thee: thou hast holden my right hand.
24 durch deinen Rat wirst du mich leiten, und nach der Herrlichkeit wirst du mich aufnehmen.
Thou hast guided me by thy counsel, and thou hast taken me to thyself with glory.
25 Wen habe ich im Himmel? Und neben dir habe ich an nichts Lust auf der Erde.
For what have I in heaven [but thee]? and what have I desired upon the earth beside thee?
26 Vergeht mein Fleisch und mein Herz, meines Herzens Fels und mein Teil ist Gott auf ewig.
My heart and my flesh have failed: [but] God [is the strength] of my heart, and God is my portion for ever.
27 Denn siehe, es werden umkommen, die dir ferne sind; du vertilgst alle, die buhlerisch von dir abweichen.
For, behold, they that remove themselves far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed every one that goes a whoring from thee.
28 Ich aber, Gott zu nahen ist mir gut; ich habe meine Zuversicht auf den Herrn, Jehova, gesetzt, um zu erzählen alle deine Taten.
But it is good for me to cleave close to God, to put my trust in the Lord; that I may proclaim all thy praises in the gates of the daughter of Sion.
