Psalm 14

1 Dem Vorsänger. Von David. Der Tor spricht in seinem Herzen: Es ist kein Gott! Sie haben verderbt gehandelt, sie haben abscheulich getan; da ist keiner, der Gutes tue.

To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. The foole hath said in his heart, There is no God: they haue corrupted, and done an abominable worke: there is none that doeth good.

2 Jehova hat vom Himmel herniedergeschaut auf die Menschenkinder, um zu sehen, ob ein Verständiger da sei, einer, der Gott suche.

The Lord looked downe from heauen vpon the children of men, to see if there were any that would vnderstand, and seeke God.

3 Alle sind abgewichen, sie sind allesamt verderbt; da ist keiner, der Gutes tue, auch nicht einer.

All are gone out of the way: they are all corrupt: there is none that doeth good, no not one.

4 Haben keine Erkenntnis alle, die Frevel tun, die mein Volk fressen, als äßen sie Brot? Jehova rufen sie nicht an.

Doe not all the workers of iniquitie know that they eate vp my people, as they eate bread? they call not vpon the Lord.

5 Da überfiel sie ein Schrecken, denn Gott ist unter dem gerechten Geschlecht.

There they shall be taken with feare, because God is in the generation of the iust.

6 Ihr machet zum Hohn den Ratschlag des Elenden, weil Jehova seine Zuflucht ist.

You haue made a mocke at the counsell of the poore, because the Lord is his trust.

7 O daß aus Zion die Rettung Israels da wäre! Wenn Jehova die Gefangenschaft seines Volkes wendet, soll Jakob frohlocken, Israel sich freuen.

Oh giue saluation vnto Israel out of Zion: when the Lord turneth the captiuitie of his people, then Iaakob shall reioyce, and Israel shall be glad.
