Psalm 113

1 Lobet Jehova! Lobet, ihr Knechte Jehovas, lobet den Namen Jehovas!

Halleluyah ·praise Yah·! Praise, you servants of Adonai, praise Adonai’s name.

2 Gepriesen sei der Name Jehovas von nun an bis in Ewigkeit!

Blessed be Adonai’s name, from this time forward and forever more.

3 Vom Aufgang der Sonne bis zu ihrem Niedergang sei gelobt der Name Jehovas!

From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, Adonai’s name is to be praised.

4 Hoch über alle Nationen ist Jehova, über die Himmel seine Herrlichkeit.

Adonai is high above all nations, his kavod ·weighty glory· above the heavens.

5 Wer ist wie Jehova, unser Gott, der hoch oben thront;

Who is like Adonai, our God, who has his seat on high,

6 der sich herabneigt, um auf die Himmel und auf die Erde zu schauen?

Who stoops down to see in heaven and in the earth?

7 Der aus dem Staube emporhebt den Geringen, aus dem Kote erhöht den Armen,

He raises up the poor out of the dust. Lifts up the needy from the ash heap;

8 um ihn sitzen zu lassen bei den Edlen, bei den Edlen seines Volkes.

that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

9 Der die Unfruchtbare des Hauses wohnen läßt als eine fröhliche Mutter von Söhnen. Lobet Jehova!

He settles the barren woman in her home, as a joyful mother of children. Halleluyah ·praise Yah·!
