1 Ausspruch des Wortes Jehovas an Israel durch Maleachi.
The birthun of the word of the Lord to Israel, in the hond of Malachie, the profete.
2 Ich habe euch geliebt, spricht Jehova; aber ihr sprechet: “Worin hast du uns geliebt?” War nicht Esau der Bruder Jakobs? spricht Jehova, und ich habe Jakob geliebt;
Y louyde you, seith the Lord, and ye seiden, In what thing louydist thou vs? Whether Esau was not the brother of Jacob, seith the Lord, and Y louyde Jacob,
3 Esau aber habe ich gehaßt, und ich habe seine Berge zur Wüste gemacht und sein Erbteil für die Schakale der Steppe.
forsothe Y hatide Esau? And Y haue put Seir the hillis of hym in to wildirnesse, and his eritage in to dragouns of desert.
4 Wenn Edom spricht: Wir sind zerschmettert, werden aber die Trümmer wieder aufbauen, so spricht Jehova der Heerscharen: Sie werden bauen, ich aber werde niederreißen; und man wird sie nennen “Gebiet der Gesetzlosigkeit” und “das Volk, welchem Jehova ewiglich zürnt”.

5 Und eure Augen werden es sehen, und ihr werdet sprechen: Groß ist Jehova über das Gebiet Israels hinaus!
And youre iyen schulen se, and ye schulen seie, The Lord be magnefied on the terme of Israel.
6 Ein Sohn soll den Vater ehren, und ein Knecht seinen Herrn. Wenn ich denn Vater bin, wo ist meine Ehre? Und wenn ich Herr bin, wo ist meine Furcht? spricht Jehova der Heerscharen zu euch, ihr Priester, die ihr meinen Namen verachtet und doch sprechet: Womit haben wir deinen Namen verachtet?
The sone onourith the fader, and the seruaunt schal drede his lord; therfor if Y am fadir, wher is myn onour? and if Y am lord, where is my drede? seith the Lord of oostis. A! ye prestis, to you that dispisen my name; and ye seiden, Wherynne han we dispisid thi name?
7 Die ihr unreines Brot auf meinem Altar darbringet und doch sprechet: Womit haben wir dich verunreinigt? Damit, daß ihr saget: Der Tisch Jehovas ist verächtlich.
Ye offren on myn auter vncleene breed, and ye seien, Wherynne han we defoulid thee? In that thing that ye seien, The boord of the Lord is dispisid.
8 Und wenn ihr Blindes darbringet, um es zu opfern, so ist es nichts Böses; und wenn ihr Lahmes und Krankes darbringet, so ist es nichts Böses. Bringe es doch deinem Landpfleger dar: wird er dich wohlgefällig annehmen, oder Rücksicht auf dich nehmen? spricht Jehova der Heerscharen.
If ye offren a blynd beest to be sacrifisid, whether it is not yuel? And if ye offren a crokid and sike beeste, whether it is not yuel? Offre thou it to thi duyk, if it schal plese hym, ether if he schal resseyue thi face, seith the Lord of oostis.
9 Und nun, flehet doch Gott an, daß er uns gnädig sei! von eurer Hand ist das geschehen, wird er um euretwillen Rücksicht nehmen? spricht Jehova der Heerscharen.
And now biseche ye the cheer of the Lord, that he haue merci on you; for of youre hond this thing is doon, if in ony maner he resseiue youre faces, seith the Lord of oostis.
10 Wäre doch nur einer unter euch, der die Türen verschlösse, damit ihr nicht vergeblich auf meinem Altar Feuer anzündetet! Ich habe keine Lust an euch, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, und eine Opfergabe nehme ich nicht wohlgefällig aus eurer Hand an. -
Who is `in you that closith doris, and brenneth myn auter `of his owne wille, ethir freli? Wille is not to me in you, seith the Lord of oostis; and Y schal not resseyue a yifte of youre hond.
11 Denn vom Aufgang der Sonne bis zu ihrem Niedergang wird mein Name groß sein unter den Nationen; und an jedem Orte wird geräuchert, dargebracht werden meinem Namen, und zwar reine Opfergaben. Denn mein Name wird groß sein unter den Nationen, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen.
For fro rysyng of the sunne til to goyng doun, my name is greet in hethene men; and in ech place a cleene offring is sacrifisid, and offrid to my name; for my name is greet in hethene men, seith the Lord of oostis.
12 Ihr aber entweihet ihn, indem ihr sprechet: Der Tisch des Herrn ist verunreinigt, und sein Einkommen, seine Speise ist verächtlich.
And ye han defoulid it in that that ye seien, The boord of the Lord is defoulid, and that that is put aboue is `worthi to be dispisid, with fier that deuourith it.
13 Und ihr sprechet: Siehe, welch eine Mühsal! und ihr blaset ihn an, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, und bringet Geraubtes herbei und das Lahme und das Kranke; und so bringet ihr die Opfergabe. Soll ich das wohlgefällig von eurer Hand annehmen? spricht Jehova.
And ye seiden, Lo! of trauel; and ye han blowe it a wei, seith the Lord of oostis. And ye brouyten in of raueyns a crokid thlng and sijk, and brouyten in a yifte; whether Y schal resseyue it of youre hond? seith the Lord.
14 Und verflucht sei, wer betrügt, während ein Männliches in seiner Herde ist; und wer gelobt und dem Herrn ein Verdorbenes opfert! Denn ich bin ein großer König, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, und mein Name ist furchtbar unter den Nationen.
