Jeremia 34
1 Das Wort, welches von seiten Jehovas zu Jeremia geschah, als Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, und sein ganzes Heer und alle Königreiche der Erde, die unter der Herrschaft seiner Hand waren, und alle Völker wider Jerusalem und wider alle seine Städte stritten:
The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah — and Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his force, and all kingdoms of the land of the dominion of his hand, and all the peoples are fighting against Jerusalem, and against all its cities — saying:
2 So spricht Jehova, der Gott Israels: Geh und sprich zu Zedekia, dem König von Juda, und sage ihm: So spricht Jehova: Siehe, ich gebe diese Stadt in die Hand des Königs von Babel, daß er sie mit Feuer verbrenne.
'Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel: Go, and thou hast spoken unto Zedekiah king of Judah, and hast said unto him, Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he hath burned it with fire,
3 Und du, du wirst seiner Hand nicht entrinnen, sondern gewißlich ergriffen und in seine Hand gegeben werden; und deine Augen werden die Augen des Königs von Babel sehen, und sein Mund wird mit deinem Munde reden, und du wirst nach Babel kommen.
and thou, thou dost not escape out of his hand, for thou art certainly caught, and into his hand thou art given, and thine eyes see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and his mouth with thy mouth speaketh, and Babylon thou enterest.
4 Doch höre das Wort Jehovas, Zedekia, König von Juda! So spricht Jehova über dich: Du wirst nicht durch das Schwert sterben;
'Only, hear a word of Jehovah, O Zedekiah king of Judah, Thus said Jehovah unto thee: Thou dost not die by sword,
5 in Frieden wirst du sterben, und gleich den Bränden deiner Väter, der früheren Könige, die vor dir gewesen sind, also wird man dir einen Brand machen, und man wird über dich klagen: “Wehe, Herr!” Denn ich habe das Wort geredet, spricht Jehova. -
in peace thou diest, and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings who have been before thee, so they make a burning for thee; and Ah, lord, they lament for thee, for the word I have spoken — an affirmation of Jehovah.'
6 Und Jeremia, der Prophet, redete zu Zedekia, dem König von Juda, alle diese Worte in Jerusalem,
And Jeremiah the prophet speaketh unto Zedekiah king of Judah all these words in Jerusalem,
7 während das Heer des Königs von Babel wider Jerusalem und wider alle übriggebliebenen Städte Judas stritt, wider Lachis und wider Aseka; denn diese waren als feste Städte unter den Städten Judas übriggeblieben.
and the forces of the king of Babylon are fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that are left — against Lachish, and against Azekah, for these have been left among the cities of Judah, cities of fortresses.
8 Das Wort, welches von seiten Jehovas zu Jeremia geschah, nachdem der König Zedekia einen Bund mit dem ganzen Volke, das zu Jerusalem war, gemacht hatte, um ihnen Freiheit auszurufen,
The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, after the making by the king Zedekiah of a covenant with all the people who [are] in Jerusalem, to proclaim to them liberty,
9 damit ein jeder seinen Knecht und ein jeder seine Magd, den Hebräer und die Hebräerin, frei entließe, so daß niemand mehr einen Juden, seinen Bruder, zum Dienst anhielte.
to send out each his man-servant, and each his maid-servant — the Hebrew and the Hebrewess — free, so as not to lay service on them, any on a Jew his brother;
10 Und es gehorchten alle Fürsten und das ganze Volk, welches den Bund eingegangen war, daß ein jeder seinen Knecht und ein jeder seine Magd frei entließe, ohne sie ferner zum Dienst anzuhalten; sie gehorchten und entließen sie.
and hearken do all the heads, and all the people who have come in to the covenant to send forth each his man-servant and each his maid-servant free, so as not to lay service on them any more, yea, they hearken, and send them away;
11 Aber nachher wandten sie sich um und ließen die Knechte und Mägde wiederkommen, welche sie frei entlassen hatten, und unterjochten sie zu Knechten und zu Mägden. -
and they turn afterwards, and cause the men-servants and the maid-servants to return, whom they had sent forth free, and they subdue them for men-servants and for maid-servants.
12 Und das Wort Jehovas geschah von seiten Jehovas zu Jeremia also:
And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying:
13 So spricht Jehova, der Gott Israels: Ich habe einen Bund mit euren Vätern gemacht an dem Tage, da ich sie aus dem Lande Ägypten, aus dem Hause der Knechtschaft, herausführte, und habe gesprochen:
'Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, I — I made a covenant with your fathers in the day of My bringing them forth from the land of Egypt, from a house of servants, saying,
14 Am Ende von sieben Jahren sollt ihr ein jeder seinen Bruder entlassen, den Hebräer, der sich dir verkauft hat; er soll dir sechs Jahre dienen, und dann sollst du ihn frei von dir entlassen. Aber eure Väter hörten nicht auf mich und neigten ihr Ohr nicht.
At the end of seven years ye do send forth each his brother, the Hebrew, who is sold to thee, and hath served thee six years, yea, thou hast sent him forth free from thee: and your fathers hearkened not unto Me, nor inclined their ear.
15 Und ihr seid heute zwar umgekehrt und habt getan, was recht ist in meinen Augen, daß ein jeder seinem Nächsten Freiheit ausrief; und ihr habt einen Bund vor mir gemacht in dem Hause, welches nach meinem Namen genannt ist;
'And ye turn back, ye to-day, and ye do that which is right in Mine eyes, to proclaim liberty each to his neighbour, and ye make a covenant before Me in the house over which My name is called.
16 aber ihr habt euch wieder umgewandt und meinen Namen entweiht, und habt ein jeder seinen Knecht und ein jeder seine Magd wiederkommen lassen, die ihr nach ihrem Belieben frei entlassen hattet; und ihr habt sie unterjocht, daß sie euch zu Knechten und zu Mägden seien.
And — ye turn back, and pollute My name, and ye cause each his man-servant and each his maid-servant, whom he had sent forth free, (at their pleasure, ) to return, and ye subdue them to be to you for men-servants and for maid-servants.
17 Darum spricht Jehova also: Ihr habt nicht auf mich gehört, Freiheit auszurufen, ein jeder seinem Bruder und ein jeder seinem Nächsten; siehe, so rufe ich euch Freiheit aus, spricht Jehova, für das Schwert, für die Pest und für den Hunger, und gebe euch zur Mißhandlung hin allen Königreichen der Erde.
'Therefore, thus said Jehovah: Ye have not hearkened unto Me to proclaim freedom, each to his brother, and each to his neighbour; lo, I am proclaiming to you liberty — an affirmation of Jehovah — unto the sword, unto the pestilence, and unto the famine, and I have given you for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth.
18 Und ich will die Männer, welche meinen Bund übertreten haben, welche die Worte des Bundes nicht gehalten, den sie vor mir gemacht haben, wie das Kalb machen, das sie entzweigeschnitten und zwischen dessen Stücken sie hindurchgegangen sind:
'And I have given the men who are transgressing My covenant, who have not established the words of the covenant that they have made before Me, by the calf, that they have cut in two, and pass through between its pieces —
19 Die Fürsten von Juda und die Fürsten von Jerusalem, die Kämmerer und die Priester und alles Volk des Landes, welche zwischen den Stücken des Kalbes hindurchgegangen sind,
heads of Judah, and heads of Jerusalem, the officers, and the priests, and all the people of the land those passing through between the pieces of the calf —
20 die will ich in die Hand ihrer Feinde geben und in die Hand derer, welche nach ihrem Leben trachten; und ihre Leichname sollen dem Gevögel des Himmels und den Tieren der Erde zur Speise dienen.
yea, I have given them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and their carcase hath been for food to the fowl of the heavens, and to the beast of the earth.
21 Und Zedekia, den König von Juda, und seine Fürsten werde ich in die Hand ihrer Feinde geben und in die Hand derer, welche nach ihrem Leben trachten, und in die Hand des Heeres des Königs von Babel, das von euch abgezogen ist.
'And Zedekiah king of Judah, and his heads, I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and into the hand of the forces of the king of Babylon, that are going up from off you.
22 Siehe, ich gebiete, spricht Jehova, und bringe sie zu dieser Stadt zurück, damit sie wider dieselbe streiten und sie einnehmen und sie mit Feuer verbrennen; und ich werde die Städte Judas zur Wüste machen, ohne Bewohner.
Lo, I am commanding — an affirmation of Jehovah — and have brought them back unto this city, and they have fought against it, and captured it, and burned it with fire, and the cities of Judah I do make a desolation — without inhabitant.'
