Jesaja 1
1 Das Gesicht Jesajas, des Sohnes Amoz', welches er über Juda und Jerusalem geschaut hat in den Tagen Ussijas, Jothams, Ahas', Jehiskias, der Könige von Juda.
The vision of Isaiah, the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Joatham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
2 Höret, ihr Himmel, und horche auf, du Erde! Denn Jehova hat geredet: Ich habe Kinder großgezogen und auferzogen, und sie sind von mir abgefallen.
Listen, O heavens, and pay attention, O earth, for the Lord has spoken. I have nurtured and raised children, but they have spurned me.
3 Ein Ochse kennt seinen Besitzer, und ein Esel die Krippe seines Herrn; Israel hat keine Erkenntnis, mein Volk hat kein Verständnis.
An ox knows his owner, and a donkey knows the manger of his lord, but Israel has not known me, and my people have not understood.
4 Wehe der sündigen Nation, dem Volke, belastet mit Ungerechtigkeit, dem Samen der Übeltäter, den verderbt handelnden Kindern! Sie haben Jehova verlassen, haben den Heiligen Israels verschmäht, sind rückwärts gewichen. -
Woe to a sinful nation, a people burdened by iniquity, a wicked offspring, accursed children. They have abandoned the Lord. They have blasphemed the Holy One of Israel. They been taken away backwards.
5 Warum solltet ihr weiter geschlagen werden, da ihr nur den Abfall mehren würdet? Das ganze Haupt ist krank, und das ganze Herz ist siech.
For what reason shall I continue to strike you, as you increase transgressions? The entire head is feeble, and the entire heart is grieving.
6 Von der Fußsohle bis zum Haupte ist nichts Gesundes an ihm: Wunden und Striemen und frische Schläge; sie sind nicht ausgedrückt und nicht verbunden, und nicht erweicht worden mit Öl.
From the sole of the foot, even to the top of the head, there is no soundness within. Wounds and bruises and swelling sores: these are not bandaged, nor treated with medicine, nor soothed with oil.
7 Euer Land ist eine Wüste, eure Städte sind mit Feuer verbrannt; eure Flur Fremde verzehren sie vor euren Augen; und eine Wüste ist es, gleich einer Umkehrung durch Fremde.
Your land is desolate. Your cities have been set ablaze. Foreigners devour your countryside in your sight, and it will become desolate, as if devastated by enemies.
8 Und die Tochter Zion ist übriggeblieben wie eine Hütte im Weinberge, wie eine Nachthütte im Gurkenfelde, wie eine belagerte Stadt.
And the daughter of Zion will be left behind, like an arbor in a vineyard, and like a shelter in a cucumber field, and like a city being laid to waste.
9 Wenn Jehova der Heerscharen uns nicht einen gar kleinen Überrest gelassen hätte, wie Sodom wären wir, Gomorra gleich geworden.
If the Lord of hosts had not bequeathed us offspring, we would have been like Sodom, and we would have been comparable to Gomorrah.
10 Höret das Wort Jehovas, Vorsteher von Sodom; horchet auf das Gesetz unseres Gottes, Volk von Gomorra!
Listen to the Word of the Lord, you leaders of the people of Sodom. Listen closely to the law of our God, O people of Gomorrah.
11 Wozu soll mir die Menge eurer Schlachtopfer? spricht Jehova; ich bin satt der Brandopfer von Widdern und des Fettes der Mastkälber, und am Blute von Farren und Lämmern und jungen Böcken habe ich kein Gefallen.
The multitude of your sacrifices, what is that to me, says the Lord? I am full. I do not desire holocausts of rams, nor the fat of fatlings, nor the blood of calves and of lambs and of he-goats.
12 Wenn ihr kommet, um vor meinem Angesicht zu erscheinen, wer hat dieses von eurer Hand gefordert, meine Vorhöfe zu zertreten?
When you approach before my sight, who is it that requires these things from your hands, so that you would walk in my courts?
13 Bringet keine eitle Opfergabe mehr! Räucherwerk ist mir ein Greuel. Neumond und Sabbath, das Berufen von Versammlungen: Frevel und Festversammlung mag ich nicht.
You should no longer offer sacrifice in vain. Incense is an abomination to me. The new moons and the Sabbaths and the other feast days, I will not receive. Your gatherings are iniquitous.
14 Eure Neumonde und eure Festzeiten haßt meine Seele; sie sind mir zur Last geworden, ich bin des Tragens müde.
My soul hates your days of proclamation and your solemnities. They have become bothersome to me. I labor to endure them.
15 Und wenn ihr eure Hände ausbreitet, verhülle ich meine Augen vor euch; selbst wenn ihr des Betens viel machet, höre ich nicht: eure Hände sind voll Blutes.
And so, when you extend your hands, I will avert my eyes from you. And when you multiply your prayers, I will not heed you. For your hands are full of blood.
16 Waschet euch, reiniget euch; schaffet die Schlechtigkeit eurer Handlungen mir aus den Augen, lasset ab vom Übeltun!
Wash, become clean, take away the evil of your intentions from my eyes. Cease to act perversely.
17 Lernet Gutes tun, trachtet nach Recht, leitet den Bedrückten; schaffet Recht der Waise, führet der Witwe Sache!
Learn to do good. Seek judgment, support the oppressed, judge for the orphan, defend the widow.
18 Kommt denn und laßt uns miteinander rechten, spricht Jehova. Wenn eure Sünden wie Scharlach sind, wie Schnee sollen sie weiß werden; wenn sie rot sind wie Karmesin, wie Wolle sollen sie werden.
And then approach and accuse me, says the Lord. Then, if your sins are like scarlet, they shall be made white like snow; and if they are red like vermillion, they shall become white like wool.
19 Wenn ihr willig seid und höret, so sollt ihr das Gute des Landes essen.
If you are willing, and you listen to me, then you will eat the good things of the land.
20 Wenn ihr euch aber weigert und widerspenstig seid, so sollt ihr vom Schwerte verzehrt werden. Denn der Mund Jehovas hat geredet.
But if you are not willing, and you provoke me to anger, then the sword will devour you. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
21 Wie ist zur Hure geworden die treue Stadt! Sie war voll Recht, Gerechtigkeit weilte darin, und jetzt Mörder!
How has the faithful city, full of judgment, become a harlot? Justice lived in her, but now murderers.
22 Dein Silber ist zu Schlacken geworden, dein edler Wein mit Wasser verdünnt.
Your silver has turned into dross. Your wine has been mixed with water.
23 Deine Fürsten sind Widerspenstige und Diebsgesellen, ein jeder von ihnen liebt Geschenke und jagt nach Belohnungen; der Waise schaffen sie nicht Recht, und der Witwe Sache kommt nicht vor sie.
Your leaders are unfaithful, the associates of thieves. They all love gifts; they pursue rewards. They do not judge for orphans, and the widow’s case is not brought before them.
24 Darum spricht der Herr, Jehova der Heerscharen, der Mächtige Israels: Ha! Ich werde mich letzen an meinen Widersachern und Rache nehmen an meinen Feinden.
Because of this, the Lord God of hosts, the Strength of Israel, says: Ah! I will be consoled over my enemies, and I will be vindicated from my adversaries.
25 Und ich werde meine Hand gegen dich wenden, und werde deine Schlacken ausschmelzen wie mit Laugensalz und hinwegschaffen all dein Blei.
And I will turn my hand to you. And I will temper your dross unto purity, and I will take away all your tin.
26 Und ich werde deine Richter wiederherstellen wie zuerst, und deine Räte wie im Anfang. Danach wird man dich nennen: Stadt der Gerechtigkeit, treue Stadt.
And I will restore your judges, so that they will be as before, and your counselors as in times long past. After this, you shall be called the City of the Just, the Faithful City.
27 Zion wird erlöst werden durch Gericht, und seine Rückkehrenden durch Gerechtigkeit.
Zion will be redeemed in judgment, and they will lead her back to justice.
28 Aber Zerschmetterung der Übertreter und der Sünder allzumal; und die Jehova verlassen, werden untergehen.
And he shall crush the accursed and sinners together. And those who have abandoned the Lord will be consumed.
29 Denn sie werden beschämt werden wegen der Terebinthen, die ihr begehrt, und ihr werdet mit Scham bedeckt werden wegen der Gärten, an denen ihr Gefallen hattet.
For they shall be confounded because of the idols, to which they have sacrificed. And you shall be ashamed over the gardens that you chose,
30 Denn ihr werdet sein wie eine Therebinthe, deren Laub verwelkt ist, und wie ein Garten, der kein Wasser hat.
when you were like an oak with falling leaves, and like a garden without water.
31 Und der Starke wird zum Werge werden und sein Tun zum Funken; und sie werden beide miteinander verbrennen, und niemand wird löschen.
And your strength will be like the embers from stubble, and your work will be like a spark, and both will burn together, and there will be no one to extinguish it.
