1 Mose 16

1 Und Sarai, Abrams Weib, gebar ihm nicht. Und sie hatte eine ägyptische Magd, und ihr Name war Hagar.

Sarai Abrams wyfe bare him no childerne. But she had an hand mayde an Egiptian whose name was Hagar.

2 Und Sarai sprach zu Abram: Siehe doch, Jehova hat mich verschlossen, daß ich nicht gebäre; gehe doch ein zu meiner Magd, vielleicht werde ich aus ihr erbaut werden. Und Abram hörte auf die Stimme Sarais.

Wherfore the sayde vnto Abram. Beholde the LORde hath closed me that I can not bere. I praye the goo in vnto my mayde peradueture I shall be multiplyed by meanes of her And Abram herde the voyce of Sarai. Than Sarai

3 Und Sarai, Abrams Weib, nahm Hagar, die Ägypterin, ihre Magd, nach Verlauf von zehn Jahren, die Abram im Lande Kanaan gewohnt hatte, und gab sie Abram, ihrem Manne, ihm zum Weibe.

Abrams wife toke Hagar hyr mayde the Egitian (after Abram had dwelled. x. yere in the lande of Canaan) and gaue her to hyr husbonde Abram to be his wyfe.

4 Und er ging zu Hagar ein, und sie ward schwanger; und als sie sah, daß sie schwanger war, da wurde ihre Herrin gering in ihren Augen.

And he wente in vnto Hagar and she conceaved. And when she sawe that she had conceyved hyr mastresse was despised in hyr syghte.

5 Und Sarai sprach zu Abram: Das Unrecht, das mir widerfährt, fällt auf dich! Ich habe meine Magd in deinen Schoß gegeben; und da sie sieht, daß sie schwanger geworden ist, bin ich gering in ihren Augen. Jehova richte zwischen mir und dir!

Than sayd Sarai vnto Abram: Thou dost me vnrighte for I haue geuen my mayde in to thy bosome: and now because she seyth that she hath coceaved I am despysed in hyr syghte: the LORde iudge betwene the and me.

6 Und Abram sprach zu Sarai: Siehe, deine Magd ist in deiner Hand; tue ihr, was gut ist in deinen Augen. Und Sarai behandelte sie hart, und sie floh von ihr hinweg.

Than sayde Abra to Sarai: beholde thy mayde is in thy hande do with hyr as it pleaseth the. And because Sarai fared foule with her she fled from her.

7 Und der Engel Jehovas fand sie an einer Wasserquelle in der Wüste, an der Quelle auf dem Wege nach Sur.

And the angell of the LORde founde her besyde a fountayne of water in the wyldernes: euen by a well in the way to Sur.

8 Und er sprach: Hagar, Magd Sarais, woher kommst du, und wohin gehst du? Und sie sprach: Ich fliehe hinweg von meiner Herrin Sarai.

And he sayde: Hagar Sarais mayde whence comest thou and whether wylt thou goo? And she answered: I flee from my mastresse Sarai.

9 Und der Engel Jehovas sprach zu ihr: Kehre zu deiner Herrin zurück und demütige dich unter ihre Hände.

And the angell of the LORde sayde vnto her: returne to thy mastresse agayne and submytte thy selfe vnder her handes.

10 Und der Engel Jehovas sprach zu ihr: Ich will sehr mehren deinen Samen, daß er nicht gezählt werden soll vor Menge.

And the angell of ye LORde sayde vnto her: I will so encrease thy seed that it shall not be numbred for multitude.

11 Und der Engel Jehovas sprach zu ihr: Siehe, du bist schwanger und wirst einen Sohn gebären; und du sollst ihm den Namen Ismael geben, denn Jehova hat auf dein Elend gehört.

And the LORdes angell sayd further vnto her: se thou art wyth childe and shalt bere a sonne and shalt call his name Ismael: because the LORDE hath herde thy tribulation.

12 Und er, er wird ein Wildesel von Mensch sein; seine Hand wider alle und die Hand aller wider ihn, und angesichts aller seiner Brüder wird er wohnen.

He will be a wylde man and his hande will be agenst every man and euery mans hande agenst him. And yet shall he dwell faste by all his brothren.

13 Da nannte sie Jehova, der zu ihr redete: Du bist ein Gott, der sich schauen läßt! Denn sie sprach: Habe ich nicht auch hier geschaut, nachdem er sich hat schauen lassen?

And she called the name of the LORde that spake vnto her: thou art the God that lokest on me for she sayde: I haue of a suertie sene here the backe parties of him that seith me.

14 Darum nannte man den Brunnen: Beer-Lachai-Roi; siehe, er ist zwischen Kades und Bered.

Wherfore she called the well the well of the lyuynge that seith me which well is betwene Cades and Bared.

15 Und Hagar gebar dem Abram einen Sohn; und Abram gab seinem Sohne, den Hagar geboren hatte, den Namen Ismael.

And Hagar bare Abram a sonne and Abram called his sons name which Hagar bare Ismaell.

16 Und Abram war sechsundachtzig Jahre alt, als Hagar dem Abram Ismael gebar.

And Abram was. lxxxvi. yere olde when Hagar bare him Ismael.
