5 Mose 9

1 Höre, Israel! Du gehst heute über den Jordan, um hineinzukommen, Nationen in Besitz zu nehmen, größer und stärker als du, Städte, groß und befestigt bis an den Himmel,

Here thou, Israel; thou schalt passe Jordan to dai, that thou welde mooste naciouns, and strengere than thou; grete citees, and wallid `til to heuene;

2 ein großes und hohes Volk, die Söhne der Enakim, die du ja kennst, und von denen du ja gehört hast: Wer kann vor den Kindern Enaks bestehen?

a greet puple, and hiy; the sones of Enachym, whiche thi silf `siest, and herdist, whiche no man may ayenstonde in the contrarie part.

3 So wisse heute, daß Jehova, dein Gott, es ist, der vor dir her hinübergeht, ein verzehrendes Feuer; er wird sie vertilgen, und er wird sie vor dir beugen; und du wirst sie austreiben und sie schnell vernichten, so wie Jehova zu dir geredet hat.

Therfor thou schalt wite to dai, that thi Lord God hym silf schal passe bifor thee; he is a fier deuourynge and wastynge, that schal al to breke hem, and schal do awei, and destrie bifor thi face swiftli, as he spak to thee.

4 Sprich nicht in deinem Herzen, wenn Jehova, dein Gott, sie vor dir ausstößt: Um meiner Gerechtigkeit willen hat Jehova mich hierher gebracht, um dieses Land in Besitz zu nehmen denn um der Gesetzlosigkeit dieser Nationen willen treibt Jehova sie vor dir aus.

Seie thou not in thin herte, whanne thi Lord God hath do hem awey in thi siyt, For my riytfulnesse the Lord brouyte me yn, that Y schulde welde this lond; sithen these naciouns ben doon awey for her wickidnessis.

5 Nicht um deiner Gerechtigkeit und der Geradheit deines Herzens willen kommst du hinein, um ihr Land in Besitz zu nehmen; sondern um der Gesetzlosigkeit dieser Nationen willen treibt Jehova, dein Gott, sie vor dir aus, und damit er das Wort aufrecht halte, welches Jehova deinen Vätern, Abraham, Isaak und Jakob, geschworen hat.

For not for thi riytfulnessis, and equyte of thin herte thou schalt entre that thou welde the lond `of hem; but for thei diden wickidli, thei weren doon awey, whanne thou entridist, and that the Lord schulde fille his word which he bihiyte vndur an ooth to thi fadris, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

6 So wisse denn, daß nicht um deiner Gerechtigkeit willen Jehova, dein Gott, dir dieses gute Land gibt, es zu besitzen; denn ein hartnäckiges Volk bist du.

Therfor wite thou that not for thi riytfulnesses thi Lord God yaf to thee this beste lond in to possessioun, sithen thou art a puple of hardeste nol.

7 Gedenke, vergiß nicht, wie du Jehova, deinen Gott, in der Wüste erzürnt hast! Von dem Tage an, da du aus dem Lande Ägypten herausgezogen bist, bis ihr an diesen Ort kamet, seid ihr widerspenstig gegen Jehova gewesen.

Haue thou mynde, and foryete not, hou in the wildirnesse thou terridist thi Lord God to greet wraththe; fro that dai in which thou yedist out of Egipt `til to this place, thou striuedist euere ayens the Lord.

8 Und am Horeb erzürntet ihr Jehova; und Jehova ergrimmte über euch, so daß er euch vertilgen wollte.

For whi also in Oreb thou terridist hym, and he was wrooth, and wolde do thee awei, whanne Y stiede in to the hil,

9 Als ich auf den Berg stieg, um die steinernen Tafeln zu empfangen, die Tafeln des Bundes, den Jehova mit euch gemacht hatte, da blieb ich auf dem Berge vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte Brot aß ich nicht, und Wasser trank ich nicht-

that Y schulde take two tablis of stoon, the tablis of couenaunt which the Lord made with you, and Y continuede in the hil fourti daies and nyytis, and Y eet not breed, and Y drank not watir.

10 und Jehova gab mir die zwei steinernen Tafeln, beschrieben mit dem Finger Gottes; und auf ihnen standen alle die Worte, welche Jehova auf dem Berge mit euch geredet hatte, mitten aus dem Feuer, am Tage der Versammlung.

And the Lord yaf to me, twey tablis of stoon, euer either wrytun with Goddis fyngur, and conteynynge alle the wordis whiche he spak to you in the hil, fro the myddis of the fier, whanne the cumpany of puple was gaderid togidere.

11 Und es geschah am Ende von vierzig Tagen und vierzig Nächten, da gab mir Jehova die zwei steinernen Tafeln, die Tafeln des Bundes.

And whanne fourti daies and so many nyytis hadden passid, the Lord yaf to me twei tablis of stoon, tablis of boond of pees;

12 Und Jehova sprach zu mir: Mache dich auf, steige eilends von hier hinab! Denn dein Volk, das du aus Ägypten herausgeführt hast, hat sich verderbt. Sie sind schnell von dem Wege abgewichen, den ich ihnen geboten habe; sie haben sich ein gegossenes Bild gemacht.

and he seide to me, Rise thou, and go doun for hennys soone, for thi puple, which thou leddist out of Egipt, han forsake swiftli the weie which thou schewidist to hem, and thei han maad to hem a yotun calf.

13 Und Jehova sprach zu mir und sagte: Ich habe dieses Volk gesehen, und siehe, es ist ein hartnäckiges Volk.

And eft the Lord seide to me, `Y se that this puple is of hard nol;

14 Laß ab von mir, daß ich sie vertilge und ihren Namen unter dem Himmel auslösche; und ich will dich zu einer Nation machen, stärker und größer als sie.

suffre thou me, that I alto breke hym, and do awey the name `of hym fro vndur heuene; and Y schal ordeyne thee on a folk which is grettere and strongere than this folk.

15 Und ich wandte mich und stieg von dem Berge herab (und der Berg brannte mit Feuer), und die zwei Tafeln des Bundes waren auf meinen beiden Händen.

And whanne Y cam doun fro the hil brennynge, and helde with euer either hond twei tablis of boond of pees, and Y seiy,

16 Und ich sah, und siehe, ihr hattet gegen Jehova, euren Gott, gesündigt; ihr hattet euch ein gegossenes Kalb gemacht; ihr waret schnell von dem Wege abgewichen, den Jehova euch geboten hatte.

that ye hadde synned to youre Lord God, and hadden maad to you a yotun calf, and hadden forsake swiftli the weie of God which he schewide to you,

17 Und ich faßte die beiden Tafeln und warf sie aus meinen beiden Händen und zerbrach sie vor euren Augen.

Y castide doun the tablis fro myn hondis, and brak tho tablis in youre siyt.

18 Und ich warf mich vor Jehova nieder, wie zuerst, vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte Brot aß ich nicht, und Wasser trank ich nicht, um all eurer Sünden willen, die ihr begangen hattet, indem ihr tatet, was übel war in den Augen Jehovas, ihn zu reizen.

And Y felde doun bifor the Lord as `biforto, in fourti daies and fourti nyytis, and Y eet not breed, `and drank not watir, for alle youre synnes whiche ye diden ayens the Lord, and terriden hym to `greet wraththe;

19 Denn mir war bange vor dem Zorn und dem Grimm, womit Jehova über euch ergrimmt war, so daß er euch vertilgen wollte. Und Jehova erhörte mich auch dieses Mal.

for Y dredde the indignacioun and yre of hym, by which he was stirid ayens you, and wolde do you awey. And the Lord herde me also in this tyme.

20 Auch über Aaron zürnte Jehova sehr, so daß er ihn vertilgen wollte; und ich bat auch für Aaron in selbiger Zeit.

Also the Lord was wrooth greteli ayens Aaron, and wolde alto breke hym, and Y preiede in lijk maner for hym.

21 Und ich nahm eure Sünde, das Kalb, das ihr gemacht hattet, und verbrannte es mit Feuer, und ich zerstieß es, indem ich es wohl zermalmte, bis es zu feinem Staube ward; und ich warf seinen Staub in den Bach, der von dem Berge herabfließt. -

`Forsothe Y took youre synne which ye maden, that is, the calf, and brente it in fier, and Y alto brak in gobetis, and droof outerli in to dust, and castide forth in to the stronde, that cam doun fro the hil.

22 Und zu Tabhera und zu Massa und zu Kibroth-Hattaawa erzürntet ihr Jehova. -

Also in the brennyng, and in the temptacioun at the watris of ayenseiyng, and in the Sepulcris of Coueytise, ye terriden the Lord;

23 Und als Jehova euch aus Kades-Barnea sandte und sprach: Ziehet hinauf und nehmet das Land in Besitz, das ich euch gegeben habe, da waret ihr widerspenstig gegen den Befehl Jehovas, eures Gottes, und ihr glaubtet ihm nicht und gehorchtet seiner Stimme nicht.

and whanne Y sente you fro Cades Barne, and seide, `Stye ye, and welde the lond which Y yaf to you, and ye dispisiden the comaundement of youre Lord God, and ye bileueden not to him, nether ye wolden here his vois;

24 Widerspenstige seid ihr gegen Jehova gewesen von dem Tage an, da ich euch gekannt habe.

but euere ye weren rebel, fro the day in which Y bigan to knowe you.

25 Und ich warf mich vor Jehova nieder, die vierzig Tage und die vierzig Nächte, die ich mich niederwarf; denn Jehova hatte gesagt, daß er euch vertilgen wolle;

And Y lay byfore the Lord fourti daies and fourti nyytis, in whiche Y bisouyte hym mekeli, that he schulde not `do awey you, as he manaasside.

26 und ich betete zu Jehova und sprach: Herr, Jehova! Verdirb nicht dein Volk und dein Erbteil, das du durch deine Größe erlöst, das du mit starker Hand aus Ägypten herausgeführt hast.

And Y preiede, and seide, Lord God, distrye not thi puple, and thin eritage, which thou `ayen bouytist in thi greetnesse, which thou leddist out of Egipt in strong hond.

27 Gedenke deiner Knechte, Abrahams, Isaaks und Jakobs; kehre dich nicht an die Härtigkeit dieses Volkes und an seine Gesetzlosigkeit und an seine Sünde,

Haue thou mynde of thi seruauntis, of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; biholde thou not the hardnesse of this puple, and the wickidnesse, and the synne therof,

28 damit das Land, aus welchem du uns herausgeführt hast, nicht sage: Weil Jehova nicht imstande war, sie in das Land zu bringen, wovon er zu ihnen geredet hatte, und weil er sie haßte, hat er sie herausgeführt, um sie in der Wüste sterben zu lassen.

lest perauenture the dwelleris of the lond, out of which thou leddist vs, seien, The Lord myyte not bryng hem in to the lond which he bihiyte to hem, and he hatide hem; therfor he ledde hem out that he schulde sle hem in wildirnesse;

29 Sie sind ja dein Volk und dein Erbteil, das du herausgeführt hast mit deiner großen Kraft und mit deinem ausgestreckten Arme.

and thei ben thi puple and thin eritage, which thou leddist out in thi greet strengthe, and in thin arm holdun forth.
